He's so modest too. The impact he had on modern skate boarding is beyond comprehension. Not only his technical ability, but his style of skating is unlike any other skater I've ever seen. He might not be the best in the world but he's an absolute legend with a great personality.

@@kolphuir9971 the only vans made for actual skating are the pro models unless your vert. Osiris, fallen, audio, eS, DVS ect... were the only companies making real stock model skate shoes. That's why you could buy vans at shoe carnival back in the early 2000s but could only find REAL skate shoes at local shops or CCS catalog. It cracks me up watching skate fails and every kid snapping their ankles have a pair of $35 vans on from shoe show.

Not condoning it at all as it is a terrible life altering thing for most but he seems to have found a way to make it work somehow, most likely all the skating he does has warded off some of the bad health effects that come with it.

I loved how fast his flick was, and how it seemed like every time he caught a trick, it was as if he floated in the air for 10 years before stomping that shit down. After watching this interview, and hearing about how he grew up with his unstable mother and no father, I understand why he resonated with me so much as a kid. We grew up different, but we both come from the struggle, and when you come from dirt, you recognize others who have been there.
I didn’t have an ACL for 2 years. I have no idea how he skates at that level without it. Sometimes I could skate, but my knee would come out of place a lot and I was pretty restricted in general. Just got the surgery done a couple weeks and already walking without a brace, so I’m stoked. I couldn’t imagine doing it 6 times over.
