Arranging flights to get fans across to the games will impact the crowd number. At least if a team from New Zealand, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane more fans can be moved in a shorter period. A few extra flights can be added but you’re not talking an extra 20,000 if three sides are flying out of Sydney.
Send 16 teams over to open the competition like magic round & have a carnival like atmosphere. Week off and resume the comp back in Australia. Still have magic round at Suncorp too

let games be televised for free in the u.s not all just certain games thats why it got big in nz just look at wwe and wcw it was free it brought it into the consciousness. take the pay cut for the big cheques. i mean nrl has survived without america soo long and through covid 10 years is the plan

We like it too - more than the few hundred Yanks that went to Vegas. NRL as much as admitted in this video that it's all about the money. They know there will NEVER be a significant of Americans actually playing the game. The whole thing's a bloody farce.
You cannot pick the teams this early. You have no idea how the season will pan out and which teams will make the top 4 - 6. Like every year, there will be surprises and disappointments.
Lock away the three sides to go to vegas first...then leave a space for the runner up in the grand final. The hype alone for them getting to the grand final will mean a quick uptake from their fans or leave spot 1 and 2 for the winners of NRL and Superleague with 2 locked away early

They are after $$$... if 0.5% of the population subscribes, and they capture a mere 1% of the gambling dollar, they would double or even quadruple revenue and more importantly, profit. Not deluded, but brave to attempt to achieve what many mocked...

It's similar to the effects TV has on sport. Corruption and a distorting element over runs the game every time. League is becoming World Championship Wrestling. Enertainment yes, sport well no. The impact of the refing and bunker driven my TV ratings is destroying the game reducing many games to mere farce. Players are just commodities to be used. Basically the whole thing, including the endless media platforms, is just one big money making machine. Now kids want to play footy to be a star, or it's a way out of their circumstances. The hype in Australia alone justifies the decision. Any gains overseas in awareness, revenue, etc is a bonus.
