As first journalists we could test the new KTM EXC TPI fuel-injected bikes and we did so at the legendary Erzberg/Austria. So you are able to come up with your own opinion about the engines we did not put any music over the engine sounds. So enjoy the pure pleasure of the new bikes and the Erzberg offroad area.
Austrians should be very proud. Awesome bikes.
Nice one. Great riding, looks like it you had a lot of fun! :-)
thanks! Oh yes, we had a lot of fun :-)
Fantastic video mate the ride is way more fun that the bike love the terrain up there.
Nice riding, looks like you had a blast. How intimidating was it to ride with jonny? haha
Great bike!
What's the suspension like compared with 2017? I know a lot of people saying the front dives too much and is unbalanced, is the 2018 exactly the same as 2017 suspension wise?
They worked on the forks to make them more stiffer from the setting. It is better against bottoming now. And they also worked a bit on the outer fork tubes, so the fork works smoother (slides better). The suspension felt good.
Hi! Geiles Video !
ti amo KTM😍😘😍😘😍😘😍😘 LOVE LOVE LOVE KTM!😎
I love it!
Thinking of using this new smooth running TPI 300 for some light weight dual sport riding. How does the bike do on long engine braking runs and prolonged highway RPM?
Do you like new 250 or 300 more ?
I personally prefer the 250 a bit more, since it is better handling and in my eyes has enough power. But this really is a question of personal choice and riding style, type and terrain.

What about torrque at low rpms and lugging below idle speed possibility? Is it stronger just off idle than carburated KTM or weaker and then more controlable?
How much better is fuel consumption? And did you notice a power loss compared to a carbureted model?
Mike Lockwood I love how there's no reply for the hp to torque gains or losses!!!! I Did notice that it sounds like it is getting more gas then oil because of the way the Bike was screening but a lot of the 250 200 and especially 150s scream With the pipes until ur done putting ur after market exhaust system on....
BIKES BLADES/GUN'S I'm a huge fan of the two stroke and the only four strokes I seem to get along with have EFI. Even with a power loss I believe two strokes would be a lot more user friendly. Not to say I want a slow bike 😜 but I am getting older. I just want to know what's the Milage gain and power loss if any?
Hi guys, sorry for the late reply. Fuel consumption is in average about 20-30% less compared to the carburtator, depending on the riding situation and style. We have not noticed any power loss. KTM claims that the 300 even gained power. The bike feels a bit more "tame", due to the way it runs, but the power definitely is there and you can ride them really torque, even the 250.
Fuel consumption will be more based on how much time is spent on the throttle IMO. Fuel consumption at WOT should be similar to a well tuned carburetor, its when letting off the throttle the fuel consumption of a injected bike should be significantly better. So depending on the terrain and how you ride may be the biggest determining factor. A slow easy going rider will probably see a significant mileage gain while hard fast riding with constant throttle and wot riding will see little to no consumption difference. Again this is my theory. based on the fact that the bike should be running the same optimum air fuel ratio whether its carbed or injected.
So it's injected.... can you engine brake with this 2stroke???? Or will it still lack lubrication and eventually kill the engine?
Yes and no: It's a two-stroke, so engine-brake is still significant less effective as compared to a four-stroke. So no, you still don't have a real engine brake. But yes, you can engine brake (shove the engine) without killing it because the oil is injected separately from the fuel. Thus even with throttle closed and no fuel being injected there is still a sufficient air/oil mixture to lubricate the engine.
I don't care what they do to KTM 2strokes, THERE'S nothing that will be better as long as the Ride knows what he or she is doing the KTM 150and up to the 300exc even the 2stroke KTM 50cc,65,80,85 and up KTM is the best and I wish I could afford one..... It would be a dream come true!!!!!
Would you pick the 300 or the 250 for a semi high speed terrain
300 as it is a little bit faster and I reckon the slightly better handling of the 250 does not bring as many benefits as a bit more horsepower on that type of terrain
So engine braking is now a thing with these 2strokes?
No, no engine breaking through the fuel injection. It rides like a "normal" 2-stroke as we are used to regarding the breaking.
I hope you meant braking
No. Sadly.
can i used it on the street for daily basis
In theory it can be used for that, but the comfort of a sports competition bike is not the same as of a bike that is supposed to be ridden mainly on roads
Hello,
How does the MAP switch working?
The map switch is having a bigger effect than in the past.
Must feel good to have the Delta Force themed version of one of these and ride it to this cool tune ruclips.net/video/yEQNQ2lXWEc/видео.html LOL Chuck approves!
Diese man nervt aber sehr!
