Also, its NOT holding thr game hostage when there is a survivor who can still work on gens and open the gates. In order for a game to be taken hostage, there needs to be no physical way a survivor can escape or die. It may not be fun to get body blocked for 5 minutes while the last survivor does gens, but at the end of the day you are able to get out of that game by natural means. If the killer was cheating and not allowing gens to progress, this would be completely different. This is literally a matter of a survivor not being able to handle what they were dishing out. They pushed and the killer pushed back harder. I do want to make it clear, a temp ban for this behavior is absolutely justified because it's childish and toxic HOWEVER a permanent ban is ridiculous. Also, if the killer gets a ban then the survivor should get one as well. All this told us was that no matter the situation, the killer is always going to be punished more even when both sides are being toxic children.
if body blocking is genuinely such a massive issue that you can get perma banned for it then they may as well just give every killer the Twins treatment. Just have them lose collision after like 30 seconds like when Twins is using Victor

I had a game as killer where I got an 3 gen by accident. (I have only like 250 hours) and I elimated two survivors already. The last two I was chasing for a good 15 minutes. I was starting to worry about the game being held hostage (by me) since I was holding the three gens. (Again, I'm really new at this and I try to play nice most of the time unless the survivors are toxic) Anyway, I finally caught one of the survivors and they were on deathhook. So they get sacrificed. I find the hatch, close it then a bunch of booms go off. Not knowing what that was I went over there and found thee last survivor with crows flying overhead. I learned later that is AFK. I killed her, hook and GG all.
It was a while ago when I used to play, I was Wraith and lowkey the same thing happened. 2 gens left, 2 survivors left. Slugged one, was scummy of me ik, than went after the last survivor and managed to grab the slugged dude before getting in the hatch. I dont remember if it was before or after they made it where you can close the hatch but still got the quad.

It’s my understanding, if survivors stay alive for 9 minutes, even if they die afterward, they earn a silver Unbroken emblem. Being in the killer terror radius also earns blood points. So, technically, even just hiding can be activities in the game. It is definitely a strategy. I’m not taking sides here, but “hiding” on its own is not ban able for survivors. It would be taking the game hostage by hiding for a prolonged period of time. You would also have to justify their intent. Technically, they could have been scared of being caught and generators are beacons of sound. They could also have been waiting for the other survivor to get caught and die in order to get the hatch. The later being no different than killer slugging.

I find it totally bias and double standards. ex. infinite mend legion resulted in bans for people USING ADDONS, prior to when they could disable them. Next example, permanent hook breaking using breakdown resulted in NO BANS, because its survivor which is totally fine, even though they where all fully aware of this. I don't even think anyone got banned for abusing the flashlight exploit to hide in lockers. Fix the game instead of blaming players for abusing shit, its clearly your short coming as a developer. Imagine comparing Body Blocking to block a window, pallet or something else, or even to guarantee a 4 kill, to what was done here, the killer could have just slugged the survivor for 4 minutes, but no, they had to do something dumb.

@@VexingWeeb im not on about the whole story im just sayin that a lot of survivors seem to dislike the fact that they can't easily win the match against the killer and I've got about fifty xbox messages to prove that. That being said it goes both ways and a lot of killers also moan about the game being unfair blah blah blah. I personally think that the game currently is the most balanced it's ever been.
there is also a type of survivors that take hits with bt, they always cry when they got tunneled. I mean that's not how bt supposed to work and if u take a hit with bt u can't complain later in the endgame chat.

I've done a body block like that but not from the very beginning the gates popped and I happened to accidentally walk into a Survivor with a head trap all generators were done and then they died with her head exploding

All players should take a look in what tunneling, slugging, camping, proxy camping, game hostage, BM actually is in the game. Most of the time survivors complain about any of those with the killers when killers were playing the game normally and "legally"

I think taking this into the essence of 'the developers must be survivor mains' is a bit silly and short sighted. The ban was obviously ridiculous, but I don't believe feeding into the us vs them mentality does anything to help the situation, and rather stokes the flame of this toxic theme that dbd has been plagued with for years. I'm hoping it was a mistake, or perhaps something occurred on BHVR's end that wasn't meant to. THey've been doing great lately, and I'm sure out of the thousands of bans for bodyblocking like this, it wouldn't be carol of all to cop the ban.

It’s my understanding, if survivors stay alive for 9 minutes, even if they die afterward, they earn a silver Unbroken emblem. Being in the killer terror radius also earns blood points. So, technically, even just hiding can be activities in the game. It is definitely a strategy. I’m not taking sides here, but “hiding” on its own is not ban able for survivors. It would be taking the game hostage by hiding for a prolonged period of time. You would also have to justify their intent. Technically, they could have been scared of being caught and generators are beacons of sound. They could also have been waiting for the other survivor to get caught and die in order to get the hatch. The later being no different than killer slugging.

I find it totally bias and double standards. ex. infinite mend legion resulted in bans for people USING ADDONS, prior to when they could disable them.
Next example, permanent hook breaking using breakdown resulted in NO BANS, because its survivor which is totally fine, even though they where all fully aware of this.
I don't even think anyone got banned for abusing the flashlight exploit to hide in lockers.

How is hiding taking the game hostage? Wasn’t the original intended mechanic of the game to be stealthy like a real horror experience? Yeah it can be boring, but so is tunneling and camping lol. Both sides are insanely entitled. I play both survivor and killer and have for years and both sides cry constantly however there’s a lot of things I hear on both sides that make sense. I think the game should obviously be killer sided the killer should have the power after all but also there’s a lot for survivors I would change and boost. Killers have counter play for a lot of survivor perks and items where survivors don’t. I see killers complaine about flashlights which is dumb there are so many ways to counter flashlights like lightborn or slightly looking up lol same with pallets. I feel survivors need more ways to fight back there needs to be counter play for both sides and more diverse and interesting perks a lot of perks are super situational or straight up trash.
