What I love about these episodes is just the subtlety and contrast which both Prof and Pete bring to the discussion. Prof is very youthful, robust and yet classically regal while Pete is very reserved, sort of the classic British gentleman. Judging from the views, the algorithm is really doing these videos dirty. Hope the episodes continue to be filmed to further educate and entertain. Thank you both and all of the AskOkey Team!
I am fascinated by these gentlemen. I have never seen time travellers so comfortable with current technologies. Jokes apart, the craftsmanship in these pieces is amazing!

I feel like Peter hit the nail on the head near the end. Due to modern culture I have never considered wearing a formal suit. After watching these videos however, and learning about the possibilities and accessibility, I will 100% be buying a suit 👌.
It is beautiful that well made clothes stand the test of time and still look right. I personally have a pair of plus four trousers from 1929, and they are still in amazing condition. Good clothing will stand the test of time!
Okey, you are such an inspiration to me. I am a 22 year old male and thought all hope was lost for (my) style. You have completely changed my perspective and I have gained so much knowledge. Thank you!.
I think what is so easy to miss about both Pete and Prof is that they both take care of their grooming. Pete always has sensational hair and both have very well taken care of skin and a shave. I would be fascinated to hear some opinions on general skincare, presuming you haven't put together a video about that already. Tremendous as always!
@@AskOkeyIncplease do! Pete's hair is indeed an element I find most beguiling... Always most beautifully and completely styled. I wish my own mop could be so well behaved!
It is always wonderful to see well dressed gentlemen in your program. I am over 70 years old, and with limited possibilities I try to dress as good as possible. You give me always new ideas.❤😉
Your voice is absolutely mesmerising! For some reason you remind me of Michael Caine. His beautiful role as Alfred had this distinct identity and exuberance built into the character. You represent a stylish sensibility sustained over time with a comprehensive solemn expression. The ease of posture sets a premise and promise for subtle lineament!
Love the show and the timeless style! Off the rack is telling everyone short jackets that show your bottom, and pants to the waste is all that's available or "in style". Glad I found you! Please tell me who made your club chairs?!!
Good morning Okey. I've noticed that there are buttons ON the lapel of the evening waistcoat in midnight blue. Was this just a design choice, as I have never ever seen buttons placed on a lapel, and most of my wardrobe from from the 1920s to 1930s. Maybe it has been done, since many rules were broken even back then. I've seen double-breasted overcoats with only one row of buttons from the 1920s. But just wondering why you've designed a waistcoat with buttons on the lapel itself when traditionally they'd start below any lapel
That’s a very good question Sir Lewis 😁 When we designed that waistcoat, we wanted to make the “U” as deep as possible in order to show off the Marcella and Studs on the Shirt. And given how short we like to have our waistcoat, you’re really FORCED into a small area to arrange the fasteners Hence the third row buttons being placed directly on the lapel Great Question and EYE FOR DETAIL 👏🏾
I can't wait to see the new morning dress ensembles when they're ready! If you ever decide to make full dress tails available, definitely count me down as a buyer!
Dante, the AskOkey Classic Morning Dress is far along. We will be launching it before the end of Q1 2024 And yes, Evening Tails to follow shortly thereafter
Could you make a video about all the "popular" cuts? Such as the English Cut or the Italian Cut? I would like to know what they look like and what their differences are
Ivory dinner jacket can also be worn on cruises. It should also be noted that where ivory dinner jackets can be worn in summer months, it is not absolutely necessary - black or midnight blue can still be worn and it is usually considered more formal to do so. It should also be noted that in the subtropics and tropics, ivory dinner jackets can be worn all year round at black tie events, say in a country like Brazil.
Am new to this channel but i will graduate that i will study and take the time to understand classic men's wear to turn into my style and thank you and new episodes and have a wonderful day.
Listening to your voices is a real delight gentlemen - it's as if Orson Welles (Pete) and Melvin Franklin (Proff) were conversing about lapels and sponge bags.
The suit having no lining and regular buttons isn’t unfortunate at all I think, an absolute gem of history and a significant way to remember and commemorate how and when it was made 👍🏾
There are TWO TYPES OF FLANNEL 1. WOOLEN 2. WORSTED The first is SPONGIER and more SPRINGY. The latter is MORE MILLED (FINISHED) to give it a SHARPER FINISH The latter (WORSTED) is also MORE DURABLE and hold a CREASE better. Generally speaking more suitable for SHARP TAILORING
@@NickTheGreek-m3x I don’t pay attention to that stuff. It’s mostly Italian marketing jargon for fabrics We mostly use ENGLISH CLOTH quoted in OUNCES and GRAMS PER SQUARE METER
@@AskOkeyInc Great! Can't wait. I have another question. If off-white dinner jackets, whether formal or semi-formal, are meant to be worn during the summertime, why are they made out of barathea? Shouldn't they be made only from mohair, as mentioned in the video?
@@siletotsiras Cream Dinner Jackets were originally worn either in the Summer or Tropical Climates (due to the color). As to the cloth, Barathea comes in different weights. There’s lighter weight Barathea which won’t drape nearly as well as the REAL McCoy I myself have never seen Mohair used on a Cream Dinner Jacket but it’s technically possible
Beautiful suits gentleman. Looks extremely comfortable, would it be more comfy than your average jeans, or is it only as comfortable compared to other trousers.
