To be fair I learned what a kelpie was a few months ago and since then I've seen 500 dogs around the area that look exactly like that but they're just random mixed dogs lol
@@laurenscool1 Hahah, nah, Kelpies have a lot of signature physical characteristics that most Kelpie owners can easily spot but might be a bit harder for someone who isn't super familiar with them. They do kinda have a generic dog look, almost like a mix between a Doberman Pinscher & a shorthair Border Collie but smaller. Your comment made me laugh since over in Aus, if you see a dog who slightly looks like it's a Kelpie, it will almost always be at least part Kelpie. They've been around since the late 1800s, so they aren't extremely new but are less common outside of Australia since they typically have to be exported.
AKC doesn't recognise any breed unless it's extremely popular and even then they have to fight for recognition. Even the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is still new on the list of the AKC list of recognised breeds

Bred for family and work in this dog can do it all. They do drool but not as bad as other mastiff breeds. Come in almost all colors. Please check them out. Celebrities have been turned on to these amazing dogs.
I think the question is, does ANY national kennel club recognize them? Or even a breed parent club? Do they have a breed standard that describes in detail what they should look like, what they should act like, what role they are meant to fill in society which isn't already filled by an existing breed? Is there a list of required health testing? A stud book which is actually keeping accurate records of all the dogs used in the development of this breed? There's a difference between a group of dedicated people putting the work in to build up a breed which will breed true in a few generations, and then putting the work in to have that breed recognized as purebred... versus a bunch of people just breeding any two breeds together to make money (a.k.a "Doodles.")
Most of what he is giving her is kibble. She has to work for her breakfast. Modern Malinois does the same thing for his dogs. It helps moderate their calorie intake without taking away the food lure during training.

Please, could you do a video on the King Shepherd?! It’s supposed to be bred from a mix of these breeds: German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute, Akita, Great Pyrenees.
The fact that it isn't recognized as a breed is a good thing. The AKC has crazy standards that tend to make the breeds they have recognized super unhealthy. Once the standards get put in place, over breeding occurs and health issues begin to arise. Four good examples of this are the German Shepherd, English Bulldog, Boxer, and Bull Terrier. There's photo evidence of the degradation. One hundred years ago vs today, they were very healthy. Now, they tend to have a decent bit of health issues due to the over exaggerated features from the AKC standards and over breeding.
There's other breed clubs. The akc not recognizing it doesn't mean it's not a pure bred. You can get fci registration if you have a standard and 3 generations that breed consistent to that standard. Canis panther is a good example.
The Rottweiler has existed for a long time, long before there were any breed registries. Thought to be descendants of the Roman Mastiffs brought to Europe around 300 AD. The AKC has a breed recognition program, the FSS, every year dogs that have met the requirements are added to to the list.
I own a new breed in Germany. Called Marxdorfer Wolfshund or Wolfhound. Its a mix of the Sarloos Wolfhond and White Swiss Shepherd. The goal is to create a breed that looks like a european wolf but with the socialication of a shepherd.
