- This version of the National Anthem is sung by Whitney House. There has been some that have said that Whitney Houston sang the National Anthem the best.
You vote. Was she the best?
Whitney’s voice gives me goosebumps. I feel her when she sings. It’s different than hearing someone sing. I miss her,
R.I.P. Whitney & Bobby Christina. ❤️❤️
I wish the times of being proud of America.
We still out here fam...don't buy into the media bullshit..we out here proud AF
I wonder why even the best singers can't resist jazzing it up and not sticking to the way it was written. I'm not just picking on Whitney, but they all do it.
Singers and writers alike are taught to ‘make it their own’, or make it a little different or put your won spin on it. That’s why I’m thinking they put the extra spin on it.
Her 91 Superbowl version was better. In my opinion her and Lady Gaga had the two best Superbowl versions!
Yep... you're right,.....
Stop juking it up.
RIP beautiful Angel, I know you found the peace in heaven you couldn’t find here on earth, miss you.
Thanks for this!!!! and the Whitney Houston version....fills our hearts with joy and hope...
Gosh I miss this woman....an amazing talent.
Nice to see she has been clean & sober for 9 years now!!
91 superbowl by far, not even close
Amazing voice. Not my favorite rendition.
Her sweet beautiful voice has not been forgotten....we miss her.....
I think her NFL rendition was much better. Super Bowl 1991, I think, for a number of reasons, foremost of which is the much tighter weave between her rendition and the orchestral accompaniment. The arrangement itself was definitely much textured, too. Whitney Houston's voice had always been singular regardless of what and where she sang, but her 1991 performance was rich and flawless.

91 SB by far!!!
She suffered a lot.
God bless her and God bless her beautiful soul.🙏When she sang for the troops of the Persian Gulf War, she gave it away.
LEGEND.
I think what will sway to the NFL version is also the great musical accompaniment of the Florida Orchestra. Whitney, being a lifelong, trained singer, was in perfect sync with the accompaniment, even though there is some controversy if she was singing truly live at the time like she clearly is in this video.
It had to be live
has been some = have been some
Her 91 Superbowl version was better
I'm always sad to think of her. She was such a beautiful, talented woman. So sad her life tragically ended due to bad decisions. Such a waste.
Breathe taking...☮️💟✝️
This rendition seems to be more about the singer than the song.
😳
This was not good.
Why does every singer murder the correct rendition?
That's 1 reason I liked Jennifer Nettles's version. Plain, simple, basic, traditional, every note perfect.
Gord Baker, First Amendment dummy.
Whitney makes the song about "her" which misses the point of the performance. For example: Could you imagine Eddie Van Halen (RIP) taking a solo during TAPS?
@@zaulgoodman284 Exactly. And that's what every useless "singer" has done ever since. Whitney Houston's to blame for hijacking the anthem and the less talented figured they could make it they're own as well, with horrific results. So selfish. Watch Gaga sing it or anybody who sings it straight up with no horseshit, there's no comparison...
Why can’t they sing it straight?
It's not an individual anthem. It's for all. She has a great voice, but this is not a very good rendition.
She had it perfect until the end. Then she just got off track. Carrying some of the words just to long!!
I'm still sore at Whitney Houston for messing around with the arrangement of my song and spawning an entire generation of over-souling copycats.
