We do indeed, Kevin. I think the next thing I need to do is practice what I preach and tidy my mess up! that might trigger a few people to follow suite.
Ummm.....I really ought to practice what I preach! Next week will be clear-up and clear-out week. Been busy today prepping for tomorrow and sending out loads of emails.
Thanks for the tips Martin and when you are finished cleaning up your workshop you are more than welcome to come to Caragh Lake and do mine. Stay safe.
As my workshop isn’t at my house, watching other stream/vids they made is the best I can do at the moment-although I am making notes of the tips here and ideas forming from what I’ve watched 😁
M. Saban Smith Woodturning thanks Martin but as my workshop is at my parents house (we only have a tiny patio garden) it’s not going to be soon by the looks of it.
I've actually made a start on clearing some of the junk that's accumulated in my workshop over the past 20 years. I may even be able to make enough space to work in comfortably
Just seen your cleaning Video. I started cleaning my workshop yesterday. It's starting to look better. How do we turners accumulate so much stuff? I was supposed to be going to Axminster at Warrington tomorrow but, for obvious reasons it's called off. I take it that you will be there later in the year. See you then. Don C
Hi Don. Thanks for watching. Glad your shop is starting to look better now. I'll be working with Axminster to replace the dates as soon as the situation becomes clearer. Don't despair though - I'm doing a live demo tomorrow on the RUclips channel, so you can at least see something of a pro demo online!
Hi Martin, thanks for the video. Can I ask in order to teach woodturning in the UK do you need to meet any specific requirements or have compulsory certification? Thanks for your advice Tom
Hi Tom. No qualifications are required. However, the AWGB offers a 'teach the teacher' course for those looking to teach woodturning. I am a member of the Register of Professional Turners, that whilst does not 'certify' a member as a teacher, it does guarantee professional standard work and practices.
For improving your lighting, clean your light fittings. If fluorescent lamps are black at the ends, change them. You'll be amazed at the increase in light you can get by using new lamps. Also, to inrease the light level in your workshop by up to 30% - paint your ceiling and walls white! Not silver reflective - that's not as effective as white paint. (PS. I'm a Lighting Design Engineer)
M. Saban Smith Woodturning. Ain't that the truth! My wife has underlying health issues and has been told to isolate for 4 months and now I'm chasing my own ass doing her bidding and the list gets gets longer!
Nice quick video Martin looking forward to sat and learning about colouring
Thanks, Matthew. Workshop is all ready for tomorrow. Should be a fun and interesting day.
Thank you for the tips! Stay safe everyone!
Likewise, Shane.
Well done Martin, we all need to support each other through this! I look forward to hearing lots of comments and suggestions from your subscribers.

Some good thoughts there thank you Martin. 👍 Will you have another video in a weeks time to show off a tidy workshop?

Hi David. I hope you can get to your workshop soon.

I've actually made a start on clearing some of the junk that's accumulated in my workshop over the past 20 years. I may even be able to make enough space to work in comfortably
Bonus!
Be safe! Thanks! Beach, NC
You too, Bobby.
I really look forward to watching your upcoming lives!
I'm all sorted for tomorrow. Looking forward to it, too.
Makes me wish I had a work shop😉
I hope you'll have one, one day.
I just want to see the floor again again. Well and the bench. 😉
I briefly saw mine this morning when I swept the shavings under the table before tomorrows Live show.
Lol. I look forward to it.

@@msabansmith Thanks for the advice Martin I'll check out some courses and look into registering for RPT 😁
Thanks for the tips. We need something to do while we fight the Kung Flu.
Indeed. I hope to see you on the live shows, too.

So what your saying is have a bloody good tidy up?? If I do that it will take me 6 months to work out where I've put every thing!
if things don't improve, we may all have 6 months to tidy up stuff. ;-)

Hurrah, someone who calls a workshop a workshop and not a shop........
Absolutely it's a workshop. I don't sell anything from there, so it can't be a 'Shop'. :-)
