Did you get it to work with Msfs 2020? I’ve built one a couple days ago and for some reason none of the buttons work. I’m also using air manager. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
I don't fly the big planes but I can and do appreciate your efforts in the many amazing items you develop to enhance our sim experiences. I thank you on behalf of the community.
Definitely going to hire a 3D printing service to print the parts for me, and start working on buying the switches, screws and Arduino. Thank you for making this project public!
Glad I found your Channel Russ! Like you I am a pilot of more than 40 yrs and still currently flying BizJets (Falcon 2000). With 18,000+ hrs, and a variety of Airliners (DC-8, B727 & B747) I tend to lean toward the "Training Camp" of Simulation. Love sims, but it has to fly well and representative of real characteristics.... Long story short, that is what got me involved in Sim Flight Modeling as I was seeking a good tool to mentor my Chinese Copilot a few years back while flying as an Expat in China. I think you know my work.... I am "TWKSTER" of association with Zibo Mod 737-800X. :) I will watch more of your videos!
Hi Russ. Thanks for all that you do for the community. There is an article on threshold highlighting some of your freeware contributions to the community.
This is my second project I have madefrom your fantastic videos, thank you Russ for the great support in sharing this with us. The 3D printing was done here at our public library and my only cost was the finished product weight times 20 cents a gram for the material. The switches you have listed are not available here but the ones I have installed are working too. To get it to work with AirManager at first no action. only after using .. "the Flash" button and selecting the COM port the process of installing started and I had succes. Only need to find why the brakes are not releasing when you switch these to off....
Hello sir! I am an aspiring pilot! Thank you so much for all the good work! I will definitely be forever thankful for all the things you shared to us! Thank you sir! ✈️😊
Fantastic job Russ. You are several notches above the typical flightsim enthusiast. Not owning a 3-D printer is a major roadblock to me, I am anxiously awaiting the debut of the PMDG 737ngu for MSFS, and have the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo pieces still in the factory-sealed cartons. Meanwhile I'm hotrodding around in the FBW A320 neo. If ever you decide to offer a 3-D 'kit' such as shown in this video, I would be interested in purchasing. Seems to me like you're in a great position to create a cottage industry for us simmers where you might offer such wonderful upgrades (?) or failing that, possibly license your design(s) to 3rd party vendors (?) or even Honeycomb itself (?). Just throwing ideas.
Printed as one piece, all small parts done. Can I get a parts list so this great addition can be completed and installed. I spend hrs watching your videos and sim flying. Had heart attack several years ago and lost my medical. Thanks for all you do Russ.
Did you flash the nano? I can’t get mine to work on X Plane, eventfully will need code for it to work on MSFS 2020 with the B737. Any ideas, thank you.
Excellent video. I liked the details, so it was quite exciting for me. I do want to learn a bit more about 3D printing to add hardware that I want but can't find or too expensive. I will checkout your freesimstuff for pointers on 3D printers. Thanks again Russ. Your videos open up lots of new ideas in advancing Flight Simming. Great stuff. Please continue to add new videos and share your ideas and experience.
Thanks Russ. I really enjoy watching the things you come up with and appreciate the time, effort and expertise that it takes to do all these things. I’m still a novice on the arduino applications but learning as I go.
Thank you for all the work you have put out into the community. I really appreciate it. A few years ago you did a number of videos on the Knobster, including 3d printed parts for an enclosure and various mounts. Do you still have those .STL files and would you be willing to share them? Thank you again for all you have contributed to the community.
Love the build and am currently looking for all the parts needed, have everything but the wires and wire connectors on the left side at 4:15 can you give me the part numbers for those on Amazon please so I can get them.
Hi Russ First thanks very much for the exellent work and for all your DIY projects. A little question for you, Any app other than Air manager that can be used to control this as it price is steep for me thanks again
Hi Russ, Firstly, many thanks for posting this video. It got me interested enough to build the project. I bought the Arduino Nano and wired it up exactly as in your video. I want to use this in the PMDG 737 NG for MSFS 2020. I have Air Manager V4. Could you maybe create a template I can import, because there doesn't seem to be any hardware function I can use in AM. I did get the generic parking function working, but that's as far as I got. Any ideas how to go from here would be much appreciated. Update, It seems I should be able to update your X Plane lua code to include multi-variables for FSX, P3D and MSFS 2020 so your panel should work in all those sims. I tested it in X Plane 11.5 with the Zibo 737-800X and it worked perfectly. If I get the code working in AM, I'll post a link here for other folks to download.
Wiring today, had to but new nano. Really looks good and your directions are spot on. I’ll post pic when attached. Another question area, I’m flying in Msfs and x plane 12, trying to master the panels now that I have my knobster. I follow many RUclips’s and read all I can find but still having issues. The monitor is the Wim you suggested, the mounting plate is Great. But when I use Air Manger and input a pre made panel I can’t get the knobster to work. I can press an instrument knob, it turns blue while finger is on, but when I release press and head for knobster it turns to original color and nothing happens with knobster. If I go to knob with mouse I can see it turn R and L. Any ideas you may have? Thanks for an answer and always a big thank you for all you have done/ doing for sim community. Chan
Sound like you either haven't correctly connected your Knobster or haven't enabled it in the panel's settings. Look here for detailed directions siminnovations.com/wiki/index.php?title=Knobster Focus on items 3 and 4
@@rbarlow I did follow those instructions and like I said, a few times I get knobster control, other times I can see the knob on the 15.6 moving but no change in data. My setup is GTE3060 ti, 4 outputs, and output from the motherboard. I have the 3 large monitors connected to the video card. The touchscreen is output from the motherboard video. The only way I can get touchscreen to work is by selecting the 15.6 as master in the (Settings)>(System)>(Display) page. When I bring up Nvidia control panel I only show output for the 3 video monitors, the 15.6 is not selected as part of the multi-monitor choices. Should I be outputting all video from the Nvidia card. Maybe this is my problem, my setup of monitors.??????
@@clofland5214 sounds like you need to calibrate your touch monitors. The usb touch grid signals are independent of the video monitors so windows needs to know how they are associated. By default windows assumes the touch signals are associated with the master monitor. If you have multiple touch screens of if the single touchscreen is not the master you need to calibrate the setup. Basically you need to go to the windows settings and search for “calibrate”. You will see something like “calibrate pen and touch…” . It will cycle through all your monitors with a white screen and tell you to hit return if it is not a touch screen and to touch it if it is a touchscreen. As for using a video card AND the onboard video at the same time that usually requires a bios change. First get the touchscreen working in windows to select move and open folders. The try using the touch function in Air Manager to make dial inputs. If that works try enabling the Knobster. @@rbarlow I think part of my problem is not fully understanding Air Manager and following exact steps, working on that....I wired my Quadrant and programmed with the imported .siff, not getting anything. I'm on msfs no xplane. Is this only setup for xplane?? I caught a brief video in the past and you mentioned msfs in that one, trying to find it again now......I don't need to flash this nano do I? I built 2 diy knobsters and flashed those with air manager.

Hi Russ, What an awesome creation. I've got one question though. Does the air manager profile work for the pmdg in flight simulator 2020? If not, how can I change it so it does work.
Hi Russ, Some of your projects you have shared, and now you have gone off the charts by creating a web site to offer your projects and invite others is off the wall... I wish I built a sim to accomodate some of your projects, but I do watch and also appreciate the assitance to make my artwork for a fuel flow, manifold gauge come alive, I recently after having many students use my first sim to help in their training have now completed my first two seat three large monitors, two touch screen, complete with instructors station. After seeing your web site, it would be fun to share my new sim and what i incorporated in my build. I don't do face book, but was wondering if you know of a site that would appreciate submissions of home built simulators .. Keep up the excellent work. I will send you some photos direct, since I can't upload here... Rod
I think the Thrustmaster Airbus throttle plus the add on side (spoiler/flaps) is a nice and there are Airbus handles for the honeycomb but I haven't seen anything like this for honeycomb.
Built this last night, works fantastic with my PMDG and Mobiflight, thank you!
