I got their original mark 85 for a good price and never noticed the arm curve (assuming it's the same) but I did notice the ankles being so gappy but it's not enough to really bother me, I personally find it relatively easy to forget about. My biggest problem is often with the waist, some of the iron men I just find so hard to get the waist/abdomen piece to line up properly and not have a big gap or seam even in a standing pose. But I really don't think it's good enough to buy again. I have the NOTA Studios head and gauntlet and I think I'll just buy a bootleg 85, weather it myself and put the NOTA stuff on it.

I ended up selling my entire figuarts collection that was made up of pretty much DBZ, Star Wars and MCU for pretty much all the reasons you’re frustrated with this figure. It end up funding my next collection and I never looked back lol
i appreciate the scrutiny. Especially the articulation can make or break a figure for me. Some of the sculpt mistakes are only found by you as far as I know. Like limbs being on the wrong side.
Sure it has its flaws, but it still one of the best looking representation of mark 85 out there in this scale. Especially with its accessories. I do really like this figure. And I can live with its ankle. Doesnt bother me at all. And for its armor, I think marvel went for the classic red and gold look in endgame which figuarts nailed with this figure. I dont see anything wrong with his armor. I think it just goes how you look or judge this figure. For me, this is a great figure and its worth it.
Anthony, I feel the same way you do. S H Figuarts has produced so many versions of Iron Man there is no excuse for things like those arms and ankles. It's unacceptable especially when these figures are so expensive.
Sadly the way I feel about it is that this pre order culture that we are currently living in is seriously damaging the quality and the care these top manufacturers are putting into their figures.. Why would you care when you know that your entire fanbase will buy it regardless as long as it is passable and a little bit shiny? They just don't care enough to put the effort in because the pre orders are already sold out.. Essentially, we as fans are shooting ourselves in the foot by choosing to pre order these figures without first understanding if the figure itself is worth the pre order price it has been tagged with. I fully expect this sort of thing to continue and even get worse as long as we as a fan base keep giving our money away despite the lack of real quality.. It has got to that stage now where companies like Figuarts and mafex are just completely taking advantage of the situation and in a way you guys who are pre ordering this stuff blindly are getting exactly what you deserve. Sad, but True. 💚🙏🌈🔥
Honestly, Bandai could've released this paint job with minimal accessories and it would've still sold out. They gave reason for a higher price point on these Final Battle figures, which i appreciate. And what are the options? This or that Marvel Legends figure? .... This is more than fine.
Honestly the SHF is always gonna be my self preferences, the gaps I could live with it, the gaps are necessary for pose these figures, the articulation & accessories is much more than your marvel legends, not only that the marvel legends lack with accessories but it lacks with preference and would reuse body parts and doesn’t execute accurate head sculpts.
Thanks for the great review! always appreciate the meticulousness of it. Stay hard on these guys, all the other reviewers are too nice to figuarts. The price point is way too high to be nice!!!
Just like with the Endgame cap. The 1st releases were disappointing cause they didn’t have accessories, now they have a whole bunch. So that makes it worth for me.
Yeah you do sound negative sometimes but I still think it's necessary rather than act like everything is always great and nice like other RUclipsrs do. These imports do give you heaps of accessories but what I value most is playability and looks so it's no use to me to have a figure I can't play with or it'll break - posing is cool but I want to actually play with it - and it's worse if they also look half assed and even 'worser' if you pay that much money for it... I bought me exactly 2 import figures, one Mafex and one Figuarts - never again!
This is the reason I'm going for the Mafex version. This figure just lacks the proper bulk of the MK85; sure, it looks strong, but it just fails to pack in the size.
I was thinking 6 on aesthetic too That paint looks disgusting, looks cheap, the dirtiness Proper use of the word sublime 👌 Yeah its doing too much, i personally don't collect S.H F., they are too expensive and I'm happier with the Nendo of the same suit, comes with the things, looks cute when posed, fuck it, 6/10 it is
I love your approach to reviews. There's a lot of reviewers who just base figures on their feel. Or too negative because of ACBA like this figure of OLD Ben can't do the splits. I like you because you give an objective review and not go on emotion. It's better because you give me the best idea of whether I should get it. Like because of you I'll wait for mafex Endgame cap. I'll wait for official pictures of mafex ironman before I make a choice.
I agree with you man I have an S.H.Figuarts Thor Ragnarok and the proporción and ratio of its body is off. The forearm is way too skinny, the legs are too short and the helmet is too big. Besides the scale does not match well with other figures.Thor is supposed to be tall but instead is out of size compared to other figures from the movie.
If YoU dOn’t LiKe It, WhY dId YoU.....yea, that’s getting old. I agree with the bent arms, the proportions, and the ankle gaps...especially the ankle gaps. The loose waist ball joints do not exist on mine, so that’s a your mileage may vary issue. At retail, the figure definitely leaves a lot to be desired. I got the clean version of this for $65, so for that price I can overlook a few of the issues. The ankles are by far the worst on any sh Figuarts figure or any figure for that matter. The mark 85 definitely had ankle guards in the movie, so I do not know why they got rid of them here. If they are going to remove the ankle guards, at the very least they should have made the feet closer to the shin so that the joint would be less visible like on the mark 50.
i get that youre honest. i get that its your opinion, but man you have a lot of complaints and i think all the negative things that you said to that figure, even the slightest things that a lot of people aint talking it as big deal, you pointed it out. i dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing but you it feels like you are killing the excitement of all the people who are waiting for that figure. its ok to point out some negative things but never tell people to stop buying figures like you did to your captain america. youre acting like a child always complaining stuff
I remember the original SHF Iron Man figures from the second and third films, and they were amazingly engineered for the time. Unfortunately they didn’t update that engineering even slightly - essentially these Marvel movie figures are just yearly re-skins of the same basic ‘skeleton’. It’s why I haven’t bought anything Figuarts in years, the quality and innovation dried up everywhere except the Kamen Rider line.
I have the original release... I feel 6-7/10 is a fair score for it. It's certainly disappointing, all things considered. There's a few accuracy problems I can overlook due to early production, the 85 literally still changed 2 weeks before the film came out. I'm just sick of Bandai's hold on the market's nuts. This figure's okay. Not great, but okay. At basically 100 bucks, you don't pay for okay. Hated the fact they fuckin' released the first one with so few accessories, then a year later sell you a head, accessories that coulda come with release 1 and then call it a day. HAD THIS VERSION been a shredded, completely "Infinity"-worn suit with the slashes on the chest and everything, I'd understand the year later release. But here it's just a Tony head, and some goddamn accessories that aren't even spoilers. And the things you mentioned, sometimes I'm a bit critical of but sometimes I can work around certain issues. I wasn't too impressed with the 50, either. I love the 46, it's probably my favourite they've made. I loved the Mk 3 as well, I don't have the 7 but I got the Python and love that one too. And their first few releases, the 43 and 45 were really impressive outings too. Honestly curious to see what Mafex and Comicave do for the 85. Mafex especially, after their outstanding Thor.
ok been honest what I do is, look at theproblem, if I cant unsee the problem, or is something I think would ruin my experience with the figure I just dont buy it, sometimes you point out something but I honestly can look past it, Its good knowing it exist, but I can just ignore it, an example with this figure are the ankles, I know they are dogshit but I can just hide them in a pincture, but the gap in the torso and poor articulation? fuck no, that's how I judge what I buy
I do own the Endgame Captain America & Iron Man first version, but after seeing your review, I don't think Bandai deserve to earn my money for the 2nd times, I am done with Bandai SHF Avengers... they just don't care and make it anyway even when they saw something wrong they still went for it, and they keep putting things into exclusive to make people hard to get them, Hasbro Marvel Legends is much more better.
Love his reviews and always take them into consideration. I still bought this figure and for the simple fact that I love the armor it’s a similar nod to his original armor from the comics with a bit added of silver. I always find a way to pose the Iron Man figures in a way to hide the misfortunes of the armors. He’s not exactly the easiest character to recreate because of the armor itself. My favorite armor from these figures so far is the Mk IV and I ordered the new remake of the Mk III and maybe that will change my mind on which one I feel is better. But still bought this figure and can’t wait for it to come in. I agree at the price point the look is poor but still in some sense worth it. If you put it in the HOA that SHF makes you’ll barely notice the joints that are messed up because of how poorly lit it is.
Hey Anthony, I don’t know how you’re gonna feel about this but if you didn’t know, McFarlane is releasing another MK Spawn variant which comes with an axe now...
Yeah, it's a shame. SHF have been dropping the ball for a while now. I've passed on a load of their movie figures because of this. Not bothering with the new mk1 either, even though I'd like a decent first suit
I bought this fig and I wished I hadn't, the ankles look like his trousers are pulled up too high and you can see his socks. The waist on my fig does not move at all. I paid £90 for mine and I regret it!
This is a great, tough review. You articulated a lot of probs I couldn't really put my finger on about the fig (I have previous release). It is disappointing, and I don't even have the great accessories this one comes with. I got the Nota Studio accessory set with the shield, starburst back thing, and nano blades. The starburst fits but is otherwise small and unimpressive, while the other bits are really tough (and therefore scary) to get on his wrist pegs. Well, you win some you lose some. It's less that misery loves company and more that I'm just relieved that you've summed up its inadequacies, which are many.
AnthonysCustoms I mean I don’t spend more than $50 on a figure in the first place. Strict rule. But if money weren’t an issue, then yea this wouldn’t bother me.
Well looks like I will be waiting until it's on sale on Wish or something. Does anyone else remember when SH Figuarts made figures worth the price tag? Here's hoping they redeem themselves with an updated Fei Long and T Hawk from another franchise lol
You did point out pretty much all my gripes lol I had a Moon Knight ML figure that showed up with its ankle ball exposed. Figured I got a crap figure until I pressed it back into the leg lmao maybe try press the ankles up I dunno.
Agree with every bit bro, very disappointed, and as you pointed out the brand has been releasing iron man figures for a while now this figure should had covered if not all, most of the issues we had faced from previous releases. I had to pay a premium price and with shipping and all so I have to force myself to like the figure :). Anyways, great videos and reviews man really appreciate and as you always say "Keep Collecting"
There is a world of difference between the SHFA Iron Man figures. And the rest of their super hero figures. The Iron Man suits feel worth the SHFA price with the gorgeous lacquered paint. The other figures such as Captain America are meh. Whereas at the other end of the spectrum, Hasbro’s Marvel Legends looks great for their seemingly magic 3D face printing technology that makes the normal bare faced movie characters look amazing. But all of the Legends Iron Man suits look like cheap plastic crap. Mafex is a mixed bag that falls somewhere in the middle. Comicave looks great, has lots of metal. But are really display pieces as the joints are fragile and problem prone.
Yea I guess most people forgot that the part of the money also goes to the paint job here for this Iron Man. Too focusing on the figure engineering that neglect the finishing here. I personally find the finishing is good other than the grunge effect. I heard the leg of this guy is made of diecast? Which factors in the costs as well. And also bear in mind, they only wrote Final Battle Edition, and NOT Battle Damaged Edition and people get the wrong idea/expectations that why this doesn't looks battle damage at all.
The arms are the worst part. I knew that before I bought it. The Infinity War Iron Man's arms do the same thing. It looks so dumb trying to do a vanilla pose. The ankles are also hideous. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the arms on these past few Iron Man figures. I have a shelf with all the MCU SHF characters doing a heroic vanilla pose and this iron man looks dumb next to them. if you get this guy posed up, he looks fantastic, which I am happy for.
Still a decent figure, but the feet are wonky. The Mark 50 has the exact same feet and they hinder the figure both physically and aesthetically as well. If you like the Mark 7, you should check out Comicave's version of it. It's a six-inch scale and outclasses the figuarts in some ways like paint and an LED gimmick.
I think he's only reviewed one? Maybe I'm wrong but from what I remember, he isn't a big fan of them. He reviewed the mezco green arrow a couple years ago
I'm never buying a figuarts movie figure again they are mostly crappy. I loved my infinity war iron Man, but his knee joint snapped after a few months on the shelf. Just went to repose him, nothing crazy, and the joint snapped in half.
I like the figure. The ankles are weird and arms are somewhat annoying to pose. That said I like the paint on final battle addition is way better then the first MK 85 SHF did. I have the NOTA gauntlet that lights up & battle damaged bloody Stark head. No need to collect anymore MK 85 SHF's. The Cap on the other hand is a TERRIBLE POS. How can you have a lightning affect that weights the figure down. The ankle rocker sucks on the figure too. If you rock ankles to far the foot comes off SMH.
I have to be really biased about a character to let this things pass, if not, I'm just like you and just don't buy them. A figure this expensive, shouldn't have these many issues.
No gauntlet included, because they will sell it to you when the Final final battle version comes out.
In fairness when he had the gauntlet his suit was being fried. To do it justice they'd really have to make an all new figure.
I would understand the complaint if he didn't come with the right accessories for the initial confrontation with Thanos.
YOOOOO final final battle
That one is coming. Called I am Ironman edition.
I really like your way you approach the figures and it makes you sound like a disappointed teacher, not just a angry consumer. Keep it up!

I’d say the mafex mark 85 will be the best mark 85 when it’s released
Glad you mentioned the arm sticking out. I noticed it from pictures so I didnt preorder. Glad I didnt spend my money
I think there is a collaboration between Bandai and Hasbro... they gave Snake Eye's torso and waist articulation with floppiness included.
I was thinking 6 on aesthetic too
That paint looks disgusting, looks cheap, the dirtiness
Proper use of the word sublime 👌
Yeah its doing too much, i personally don't collect S.H F., they are too expensive and I'm happier with the Nendo of the same suit, comes with the things, looks cute when posed, fuck it, 6/10 it is
I love your approach to reviews.
I agree with the articulations, especially with the head. A big let down for that kind of price
I was going to get this but the MAFEX one looks sooooo much better , I think I’ll wait cause MAFEX has been killing it lately
You convinced me. Going to return my figure asap.
Hello hello from Japan another awesome video
My job isn't too choose what's important. I provide all the information.
Cause I ammmm the cream of the crop. Nobody does it better!!!
I just canceled both my pre orders of Cap and Iron man, hope mafex makes a better job
ok been honest what I do is, look at theproblem, if I cant unsee the problem, or is something I think would ruin my experience with the figure I just dont buy it, sometimes you point out something but I honestly can look past it, Its good knowing it exist, but I can just ignore it, an example with this figure are the ankles, I know they are dogshit but I can just hide them in a pincture, but the gap in the torso and poor articulation? fuck no, that's how I judge what I buy
I will wait for the gaunlet version
Hey Anthony, I don’t know how you’re gonna feel about this but if you didn’t know, McFarlane is releasing another MK Spawn variant which comes with an axe now...
I don't feel any way about it. I'm not buying a 3rd spawn for that lame axe.
@@AnthonysCustoms i love that way of thinking!
Thanks for saving me money. Love your reviews.
I 100% ignore stuff like this. That ironman figure would have made me very happy.
For $100?
AnthonysCustoms I mean I don’t spend more than $50 on a figure in the first place. Strict rule. But if money weren’t an issue, then yea this wouldn’t bother me.
What do you think about the movie itself? How much do you rate it?
Mafex to the rescue.
"Clown Feet" xD
Thanks for helping me save my money
Agree with every bit bro, very disappointed, and as you pointed out the brand has been releasing iron man figures for a while now this figure should had covered if not all, most of the issues we had faced from previous releases. I had to pay a premium price and with shipping and all so I have to force myself to like the figure :). Anyways, great videos and reviews man really appreciate and as you always say "Keep Collecting"
Sometimes i think Hasbro makes a better job than Bandai, which is very odd. A bootleg would be better in this case.
Whats up with the vogue magazine waist on this iron man. He need to be THICK.
the shoulders look a tad too big when standing neutral....or is it just me...
Its just unfortunate there's no other real high end 1/12 scale mcu figures since Mafex is also questionable in their design decisions
I agree.
No way past the design without sacrificing range.. i feel sometimes we're too unrealistic with these figures. They are figures.
Incorrect
@@Zapdos97 Nah, they could have designed the feet to look better without sacrificing the range (especially at this price point).
This cam out at 3 in the morning and nobody is going to talk about it
Most of his uploads are at 3am. He probably has RUclips automatically upload at any time he sets which happens to be 3AM.
I like your vids lots, nice reviews. I just wanted to ask: Do you like mezco figures ?
I think he's only reviewed one? Maybe I'm wrong but from what I remember, he isn't a big fan of them. He reviewed the mezco green arrow a couple years ago
I didn't. I don't collect clothed figures so i don't review them. The few i have reviewed were borrowed.
Yeah, the arms are a bummer but I actually like the ankles. I think the previous ironman ankles look like skirts.
That's why I'm switching to mafex damn shf is getting bad
Should of had a snap finger hand
I have to be really biased about a character to let this things pass, if not, I'm just like you and just don't buy them. A figure this expensive, shouldn't have these many issues.
