@@zoefloyd5334 it was discussed many times in the comments of Yanxi Palace reviews, and people who do not want to be spoiled should NEVER read video comments imo. It's a place where we discuss the show, so of course all kinds of spoilers will be mentioned
@@zoefloyd5334 I think it was quite evident that it wasn’t the emperor’s child, since they showed Erqing messing up her hair which was a clear indication that she didn’t actually sleep with the Emperor.
@zoefloyd5334 don't stress, it's not a spoiler, but it's understandable if someone missed it. Fuheung knew the son wasn't his from the beginning because he never slept with Erqing and they hinted that her affair was with the brother. The only reason Erqing pretended it was the emperors child was to protect herself.
They have to be retconing some things because i know at the end of the original series HongZhou was killed for the coup and the emperor probably didn't punish his family due to ties, but considering the emperor from ZhenHuan family probably means very little. Also with characters like ZhaoHua what you see is typically what you get. As outspoken and straightforward as she is i cant see her taking the time to want to torment/poison someone. Those are usually done by more calm and calculative characters. Always good to see Yinglou though❤
NO FREAKING WAY!!! I am so incredibly happy to see you've returned and blessed us with a new recap series. 😍😍 Thank you so so so much. You've made my day
This is actually only a mini series of 6 episodes, so it ends in just two videos 😂 But there will be a few weeks of "The Double' after that if you're interested 😉
I kinda like ZhaoHua's character. She bratty and spoiled but i mean...she's the daughter of the emperor AND her mom is the highest consort (close to an empress). She remind me of the 3rd princess in Ruyi Royal Love. Not lovely but realistic and its original to have a main characher like her. Its so rare of have the perspective of the bratty princess and im all for it. And as for Jingse im like "she's 15 in her teenage rebelious phase, can't someone discipline her?!?". I root for a character with this kind of attitude and flaws. Ps: YingLuo, what a queen❤
If i remember The 2nd princess is the daughther of Consort Zhe (the mother of first prince). She died at birth as long as her mother. The First Princess was from the Empress but she died as an infant too Making the 3rd princess the eldest
I was trying to place where I've seen Zhao Hua's actress before, and she was Grand Princess Hengti from Ruyi's Royal Love! I didn't know Yanxi Palace had a sequel, so interesting~
1. it's not really a sequel/epilogue tho, more like Yuzheng cashing in the unexpected popularity of "Yanxi" by piecing together discarded footage of next gen characters 2. literally begs the question of which drama Raine Wang shot first & how long she stayed in Hengdian World Studios
she's the Imperial Noble Consort (practically Empress Consort in all but name), of course she has to know "what's up with everybody" not unlike novel!Wei Yan'wan who nobody liked and was even dissed by the Dowager Empress
¡Yay! ¡Thank God, you're back! I was missing your videos. I have to say that for me Zhaohua reminds me more of Gao Xiyue from RRLIP or Gao Ningxing from this drama than Yingluo. Are they sure that she isn't the lost daughter from one of them?
@arellacapuleto4951 still doubtful -Gao Ningxin made herself outwardly despicable because she knew she was only in the position due to her father Gao Bin's dispensable role to Qianlong -Gao Xiyue never had the chance because Fuca Langhua was a beeyotch
well WE know fukangan isnt the emperor’s son, but the last piece of info yingluo got form hupo was that erqing told rongyin her child was the emperor’s. as far as shes concerned the emperor betrayed rongyin just as much as erqing did. thats why she was so angry.
I love this mini series…dont worry everything will make sense. Fukangan and Zhaohua will never be together as there is the possibility of him being the Emperor’s son. Siwan can get wrecked. Chaoyang is socially inept (give my boy a chance!), Fukangan… 😒, Zhaohua 😊. I love my unrepentant girl. She really said “and…so..” LIKE YASS QUEEN YASS
But he isn't the emperor's son? I thought he was the brother's son which is why Erqing to his brother so passionately that the boy was a son of the family when the brother absolutely knows they didn't have sex.
@@tias2705yea she was pregnant when she slept with the emperor but the emperor doesnt know that and as far as everyone know baby is either emperors or Fuhengs (it wasnt for sure lol). Yes it was really the brother. However the POSSIBILITY immediately eliminates him for marriage
I really REALLY dont like this show and was a bit afraid of watching this video, but Drama Recaps, as always, drew me in with her voice and commentary.
I believe in the original yanxi it’s revealed the emperor never slept with Erqing, but they did send her back to her manor after she got poisoned so maybe that bloody flash back is how they left her hating a$$ at the manor 😂
I don't actually think that's revealed in the original YanXi, but yeah I guess they could have schlopped her body back and then changed her clothes? IDK 😂
But here’s the thing lol, Siwan fell on purpose for his attention if I recall, so Zhouhua was 💯 right about that, BUT she did actually get seriously injured. I’d say that plan worked out too well 😬
So... I watched ep 1 and stopped in the middle somewhere because I didn't like - of course it's because this is a new show focusing on new characters. But it didn't for me so I left. THEN... DramaRecap uploaded this I was like, yay, I get to find out what happens and enjoy the commentaries. It's like a fun two in one. BUT THEN... when she got to that part where Yingluo just let's that little gege chokes trying to scheme and I was like, hold up. Paused this video. Went on Netflix and watched and skip and watch and skip until I got to that good part.
Lollllll this cracked me up 😂 Honestly, it's so short that I think it's worth just kind of putting on if you have the free time, but you're also not missing much to be honest 😂
Isn't Fukang'an the son of Erqing and Fuheng's brother? I thought it was official that she only framed being favored by the emperor. Story of Yanxi palace didn't convey this well, but isn't that what the whole point of Fuheng's brother getting the screen time? There was no other point to that character otherwise. Also, Fugeng said the emperor would not do that when Erqing said she was favored, and the emperor told Wei Yingluo she had it wrong when she brought it up with him.
I'm not sure what you mean by official, but based on the way the show presented it i don't see how ErQing faking the encounter or sleeping with FH's brother are foregone conclusions. Though it's definitely a theory that makes perfect sense with the rest of the story (again, just based on YX Palace and the first 3 episodes of this show)
@@dramarecaps4217 You said that Erqing's son is the emperor's illegitimate son, but it's actually Fuheng's brother's child. The emperor never slept with Erqing. By saying official, I mean that it's a fact of the story.
@@globaltrance86 Maybe I'm not getting my point across well- so yes I agree that it is a fact of the story, but it is only *revealed* in the later half of Princess Adventures. I'm saying based on the story that we have, there's no confirmation or concrete evidence for ErQing's son being FuHeng's brother's child, or for the encounter between ErQing and the emperor being faked. Or do you disagree? Maybe I missed a scene🤔
@@dramarecaps4217 I see what you meant now, you are only recapping up to this point, but I don't think those facts are ambiguous and supposed to be unknown to the viewer necessarily. Since I haven't seen anything of Princess Diaries I can't comment on it. So they reveal that later? As far as Story of Yanxi Palace, I agree it wasn't made clear in that show, but I don't think it was necessarily intended for this to be ambiguous, rather they may have hastily and carelessly cut scenes and dialogue. I was always confused how Yingluo would just let it slide that the Emperor had a fling with Erqing. It wasn't until watching the show again that I noticed those examples I used as evidence the emperor didn't sleep with Erqing, and also doing some searching through forums about this. It's really strange really that one is led to believe in Yanxi Palace that the emperor favored Erqing and that those loose ends weren't tied up before releasing the show.
canonically, fukangan's biological dad is the emperor. but behind the scenes of the show, originally it was supposed to be that erqing actually manipulated the emperor into thinking that they had sex while he was drunk but they actually didn't, and the real affair partner was actually fuheng's brother (but that plotline later got removed from the final cut of the show). in real history, there were rumors that fukangan was the emperors secret love child because of how much the emperor favored him. but these were just rumors and were never substantiated. but these rumors were probably the inspo for the plotline in the show.
@@limabean9228 it's never been proven Fukkan'gan was Qianlong Emperor's bastard, as it doesn't make sense that Jiaqing Emperor would demote him later in life
@@limabean9228 I think canonically it's still Fuheng's brother's child. There is no point to that character otherwise. Erqing just framed being favored. Fuheng told Erqing the emperor would never do that when she told Fuheng the emperor favored her, and the emperor told Yingluo that she is misunderstood when she confronted him about it. They didn't convey this well in Story of Yanxi Palace, but the evidence is there. Any scenes cut didn't change the story, in the same way they cut Mingyu forcing Erqing to drink poison, and other scenes.

Thank you so so so much. You've made my day
Thanks for the sweet welcome back XD
Anybody else noticed that Yingluo is still holding the same beads she received from Empress Fucha Ronyin
Probably that bloody ErQing flashback is from the cut scenes 🤯🤯
probs after Ming'yu shoving that bowl of poison down Erqing's throat
The opening really is one of the best in this type of series. I can watch it again and again.
I clicked on this video so fast!!! Thank you for deciding to review this mini series, I have finals this week and your videos always make my day 😂😂❤️
Poor kitty. May she get revenge in her next life. 😭
the only truly innocent one in all of this!
laughs in "Marvelous Women"
Yay my favorite youtuber is back hooray!!! It's a shame I realized so late.
Aww thank you!! ❤️ ❤️
This series is going to be the bright spot in my day for the next few weeks! I'm excited to see where it goes!
This is actually only a mini series of 6 episodes, so it ends in just two videos 😂 But there will be a few weeks of "The Double' after that if you're interested 😉
@dramarecaps4217 only six? How sad but I'm looking forward to The Double!😃
😱 I miss these videos and your voice so much!!! Thank you for posting some more! ❤
🎉Wooooo so glad you've got another great series of vids! Thank you! 🎉
I really can’t with Siwan because she has the “Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan Can’t Close Her Mouth” thing going on.
If i remember
The 2nd princess is the daughther of Consort Zhe (the mother of first prince). She died at birth as long as her mother.
The First Princess was from the Empress but she died as an infant too
Making the 3rd princess the eldest
@@Amira-sb5gh right right, thanks for reminding me
OMG WE MISSED YOU AND YOUR RECAPS!!!!
Omg omg omg I’m within the first hour of posting!!! Thank you for doing this!!! I LOVE your videos so much!
I LOVE THIS SERIE, THANK YOU
i discovered yanxi palace through this serie. ❤
That's so cool to hear! I hope more people can support the shows🎈
I was trying to place where I've seen Zhao Hua's actress before, and she was Grand Princess Hengti from Ruyi's Royal Love! I didn't know Yanxi Palace had a sequel, so interesting~
1. it's not really a sequel/epilogue tho, more like Yuzheng cashing in the unexpected popularity of "Yanxi" by piecing together discarded footage of next gen characters
2. literally begs the question of which drama Raine Wang shot first & how long she stayed in Hengdian World Studios
Yay!! You are back and you’re covering Princess Adventures! Welcome back ☺️
Yes! Thank you! :)
Clicked so fast
I haven't watched but will just assume WYL knows what's up with everybody as usual. Her still having the first Empress's beads is a nice touch.
I know, right?🥲
she's the Imperial Noble Consort (practically Empress Consort in all but name), of course she has to know "what's up with everybody"
not unlike novel!Wei Yan'wan who nobody liked and was even dissed by the Dowager Empress
Yeaaaaaaaah ! THE RETURN ! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's cool to see you covering this! Welcome back!
Thank you :)
OMG I didnt know this existed.. now I want to see it so so SO BADLY.. thank you for doing these
It's on Netflix! And thanks! :)
¡Yay! ¡Thank God, you're back! I was missing your videos. I have to say that for me Zhaohua reminds me more of Gao Xiyue from RRLIP or Gao Ningxing from this drama than Yingluo. Are they sure that she isn't the lost daughter from one of them?
Lady Gaogiya unfortunately never had any issue
@盧璘壽로인수 Not the real one, the one from the series
@arellacapuleto4951
still doubtful
-Gao Ningxin made herself outwardly despicable because she knew she was only in the position due to her father Gao Bin's dispensable role to Qianlong
-Gao Xiyue never had the chance because Fuca Langhua was a beeyotch
Omg !!!!! You are back !!!
OMG!!! You’re back!!
She has returned with the goods!
I watched this so many times and I wish it was longer because of the deleted scenes that made the series more interesting
I'm so blessed and will be from now on
I love ur vids
Thank you, and love your profile pic!
@dramarecaps4217 U LIKE UNTAMED!?!?!?!
OH IM IN LOVE
well WE know fukangan isnt the emperor’s son, but the last piece of info yingluo got form hupo was that erqing told rongyin her child was the emperor’s. as far as shes concerned the emperor betrayed rongyin just as much as erqing did. thats why she was so angry.
OH MY GOSH IM SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS
Ooohhh interesting!!Love your videos❤
Welcome back!
Thank you :)
So good to see you back. Can you do The Untamed next?
Thank you! It's up for a vote right now, I just added the untamed to the list👍
She really does seem like the worst at first, but after the first time, I've decided Siwan is the worst. 😂
100% 😒
I really REALLY dont like this show and was a bit afraid of watching this video, but Drama Recaps, as always, drew me in with her voice and commentary.
I believe in the original yanxi it’s revealed the emperor never slept with Erqing, but they did send her back to her manor after she got poisoned so maybe that bloody flash back is how they left her hating a$$ at the manor 😂
I don't actually think that's revealed in the original YanXi, but yeah I guess they could have schlopped her body back and then changed her clothes? IDK 😂
SEES NEW UPLOAD, CHEERS LOUDLY
🎉🎉🎉
But here’s the thing lol, Siwan fell on purpose for his attention if I recall, so Zhouhua was 💯 right about that, BUT she did actually get seriously injured. I’d say that plan worked out too well 😬
IM SO EXCITEDDD
Is there anywhere I can watch this? I don't have netflix. Thanks.
Yay! 🎉🎉
God i love youuuuu❤❤❤❤ thank you
My god.. XD what a ride 😂
YAY!!!!!!
Loving the bojack horseman reference 😂
Ayyy! I was wondering if anyone else watched that show lol
I'm torn. Should I watch it. Or should i just wait for DramaRecap and run back to the show when I see a good part? 😅😅
Lollllll this cracked me up 😂 Honestly, it's so short that I think it's worth just kind of putting on if you have the free time, but you're also not missing much to be honest 😂
THANK YOUUUUU SO MICHHHHH CAN I JISS YOU
😚
Was fukangan's dad the younger brother (by a concubine) of fuheng or was it the emperor?
canonically, fukangan's biological dad is the emperor. but behind the scenes of the show, originally it was supposed to be that erqing actually manipulated the emperor into thinking that they had sex while he was drunk but they actually didn't, and the real affair partner was actually fuheng's brother (but that plotline later got removed from the final cut of the show). in real history, there were rumors that fukangan was the emperors secret love child because of how much the emperor favored him. but these were just rumors and were never substantiated. but these rumors were probably the inspo for the plotline in the show.
@@limabean9228 it's never been proven Fukkan'gan was Qianlong Emperor's bastard, as it doesn't make sense that Jiaqing Emperor would demote him later in life
@@盧璘壽로인수 exactly, thats why i said that the rumors were never substantiated.
🎉🎉🎉
My girl! 🤣 Glad to see you're still around!
@@dramarecaps4217 Glad to be back!!!😂😂😂🙌🏿
Day 1 of asking for magnificent century
Yess let's gooooo

It’s weird.
Princess Zhao Hua sounds and acts like Gao guifei’s maid, Zhi lan and
The other girl wants (but fails) to act like Chenbi. Meh. 🫤
They recycled Fuheng with the prince and Yuan Chunwang with Fu kang an. Ugh. 😑
Thank youuuuuu
For Erqing? ERQING❓😂💔.
Fukang'an's father is NOT the Emperor! The father of this man is Fuheng's younger, sympathetic brother. Which is why he looks like a Fuca.
I thought Erqing got pregnant by his brother.
Fukang An is Erqing and Fuca Fu Qian son.
Omg yes !!!!!
