I agree. The band has become one of my favorite bands. Their first album is one I never get tired of. It is a very lofty album for me- I hold it up with the best.
Could not agree more with you. They are a truly original and one of a kind psychedelic rock outfit. Such a unique take on guitar driven song writing to me. Jason Simon is incredibly gifted IMO.
drummer is an awesome guy, chatted with him at one of their shows in july. i told him about this video and he freaked out. he was like "we have videos on youtube?!?!" lmao
I've been a jazz/hip hop head all my life but I've always appreciated good music, and this is absolutely stunning music. Dead Meadow is absolutely amazing.
Hip hop is an offshoot of rap. It’s a legitimate art form…just low class and soulless. I like Jazz, too. But don’t get down on the man for being imperfect. We all are.
Every time I hear this I remember 10 years ago in the corner of my room on a trip feeling enormous my head touched the ceiling, the light was distorted and the smoke danced around me time felt slow
I'm back here after 11 years. Watching Steve Kille play bass. Must of been around 17/18 here maybe. I just heard he passed away, so incredibly saddened by the news. RIP Steve, you will always be remembered
DM changed my guitar playing. I was a major pedalhead and a shoegazer. I peeled off all the crap after finding them. I can hear the UK shoegaze sound in their mix, but the sounds they get are so massive with minimal equipment, in a modern(ish) setting. Very inspiring
I AGREE WITH LETSBANG THESE GUYS LEGENDS LEGENDARY GO SEE THEM IF YOU EVER CAN GO YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT EVERY SONG EVERY ALBUM JAMS ROCKS LOUD AND THE GUITAR IS PHENOMENAL AS IS THE DRUMMING SO IS THE BASS MAYBE U CANT HEAR BUT I CAN I GUESS ITS SELECTIVE LONG LIVE DEAD MEADOW LONG LIVE PSYCHEDELIC ROCK!
This is fucking great stuff. I wish more modern bands would embrace the concept of grooooooove. I've been looking for good video of this band for a while, thanks for posting.
i, sir, can agree with you. This lad is quite an extravagant guitarist, and oh am i jealous that these guys are about a year younger than I and can multiple camera men filming them them
Dead meadow is literally one of the only 2 bands that i became a fan of Post 1990s...where all my fav bands are from..i saw them open for J Mascis and the Fog, has to be 20 years ago now it seems...only their first album was out...and i instantly became a fan from that show on...10 shows and lots of albums later..they are still the band i go to for some chillout music..
@@SlowJoe9114 haha nice! my buddies and I actually talked to Jason SImon after that show briefly..had to ask him what effect was making the looping crazy sounds..he took us over, plugged it all in and showed us , The Echoplex..it was wild! great guy, great band! check out his solo albums too,, great stuff!
@@SlowJoe9114 i have to say i wasnt sure if i had heard that song, then saw it is on Jasons first solo album which i love! never realized it was a Dylan song, and its one of my favorite songs on that album! nice chatting!

Love how grooving these dudes are. Also love how wild these dudes look. You can tell they've reached that musical zen where they're totally lost in the music. Vocals could use some better mixing.
Ugh-gree. I saw them a few years back on a smaller stage and was blown away. I think Caspian opened and while I love them also, Dead Meadow took the show to a whole level and it seemed so effortless. They are definitely way at the top of playlist, just because they personify what music is all about to me. Keep it killer, bitchas.
1. One and old 2.The white worm 3.sleepy silver door 4. Ain't got nothing to wrong 5.Between me and the ground 6. Me and the devil blues 7. The narrows 8.Dusty nothing 9.Good Moanin 10. That old temple
I swear this is the greatest video for someone getting into guitar. He's got the perfect feel the entire time, it's like he makes Kille and the other look like a fucking rookie. I love Jason Simon.
I agree with what you're saying, but as someone who has been listening to these guys for many years and has been playing guitar and bass for some years too, i began to slowly realise that Kille is the heart and soul of the band. While Jason is an extraordinarly good guitarist, Kille is the perfect counterpoint to his playing! (Beyond The Fields We Know is a good example)
its called heavy blues rock. jimi hendrix, cream, john bonham. became what we know as metal with sabbath. this kid just has a lil nerdy punk rock quirk to it. but same vibe
La música que trabaja para la música nunca deja de ser impresionante. (2024)
Lamentablemente falleció el bajista anoche 😭💔🕊️
I love watching this performance. They're so inhabited. RIP Steve Kille
and he was chewing gum this performance is absolutely EPIC I like the cinder block in front of the bass drum 😜
This band is actually legendary in my book. Their debut is a masterpiece. It's sonic perfection. This live setting serves to demonstrate.
Letsbang Okay I'm completely in love with them! I (try to) write my own psychedelic/stoner rock music and Dead Meadow are my biggest influence :)
yeah i think i'm going to do the same xdd

I have seen them live...can confirm
This will always be my fav live video to come back to. Had the privilege of seeing dead meadow a few times. Steve was the sickest ever ! RIP
RIP Steve Kille :(

I actually saw him commenting on an upload of some random 2005 performance, he was asking for the file but never got a reply lmao
Mark is a great man! lays it down
That drummer makes me want to get a drum set...

The drumming is supposed to reflect a certain period in drumming sometime back in the 1960's. It's done perfectly!
Yep!
I mean, all that matters is how it sounds, but sure.
I thought something like Keith Moon
Ginger baker too
J and Steve are so cool. One of my favorite bands/frends. ever!

One of my favorites. These guys know the secret.

I swear he looks like him!
Gotta love Mark Laughlin's drumming...
Best version of greensky greenlake.
Long time fan here, these guys rock
the totality of sonic immensity
can't get enough of dead meadow
The drummer looks like someone from "Kids".
Wicked, especially the drumming.
that drummer influenced me a lot man...GR00VE
I'm really diggin' these psychedelic rockers!!!
This is sick. Drummer looks like John Francis Daley from freaks and geeks.
The A string is tuned up a whole step to a B in greensky greenlake if anyone is curious
And the high E string is tuned down to a D. 🤘🏻
