I really enjoyed the slower tempo. Quite amazing performance although i did miss the playfullness of a slightly quicker tempo in some parts. But still impressive

Wow, this video is older than I thought, the quality is still excellent! And the performance! Did I mention the cat?

I feel this was taken at just the right pace; so often, pianists want to play this much too fast.

    Wow! Absolutely superb.
How many years does a person have to train in order to master an Andalusian piece like this?
I can’t imagine the dedication, the perfection… only those who have tried unraveling a music score can understand this achievement.

What an unexpected pleasure, Ken. Your playing is so sensitive and technique very clean. You are bringing pleasure to a lot of people! Thank you.

@contagieux Haha! Thanks! I think I was more likely an Englishman who had too much ale one night and woke up on a Spanish merchant ship.
Those Cliburn Amateur competitors are incredible. They need their own label between "pro" and "amateur". Like "promateur".

Wow very well played! Nice clarity and drama to it, I loved the ending. I might try to learn this for a recital piece

@davidhertzberg Thanks, David. It's a fun piece, but it's tough to get enough fire in it.

Personally, this is one of the forgotten power horses of piano virtuosity. At 1:38, your cat quietly slinks away...

Another great performance. In a previous life you must have been a Spaniard. If you have time, you should take a listen to those pianist who just competed in the International Piano Competition for outstanding amateurs. You can watch via Cliburn.org . You're playing is really up to par with those who competed and you have 3 yrs to practice till the next competition. Bonus for you, its held in Texas.

Loved it, loved it, loved it -- a lot more than your cat did, apparently. The cat wasn't that impressed. Maybe just used to virtuosity?
