This made me so nostalgic! You nailed this build! I love this so much. I have a lot of family in the southern USA, and they're mostly in their late 60's (the rest moved out of the south). I teared up a little because of how similar this build's asthetic was to my grandmas house. It feels so warm in this build and everything from the wallpapers to the worn floors just sparked memories I had forgotten. Memories mean a lot to me. My grandma suffered from alzheimers, and had to move out of her old home to live with us. It was hard to sell her house. There were four acres of a backyard with blackberry bushes and cherry trees, and there was a peach tree too. I remember my grandpa teaching me how to drive the golf cart even though I was just five. They had two dogs who would always go nuts running around outside. Grandpa built me a small swingset that I spent so much time on that it started to fall apart. There was an old barn that used to have horses, but it turned into a storage place. There was a big porch off of the living room that had a glass table and netted outdoors chairs. I also remember that the front door was never used, but it looked so pretty that I never figured out why. We always went through the garage, and there was a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling so my grandparents would know when they backed up enough. The basement was full of things from their childhood and my mom's childhood. I remember my mom taking me down there to use the old treadmill whenever it rained (At the time, my ADHD put an emphasis on the hyperactivity, so I don't blame her). I could go on and on about that house. This really means a lot. I got smacked in the head with Lyme Disease and I've been living with symptoms for over a year and a half that are very similar to what my grandmother was put through. Remembering words (I got stuck on treadmill, kept thinking of trampoline) and being able to turn concepts into something I can say or write is difficult. It's frustrating to suddenly be unable to say or think properly, when I used to be so talkative and write stories. I still find myself trying to do those things, but Im not able to make things up yet. I've focused on writing down my memories, because I keep stumbling upon things I forgot. I was only able to remember this house existed and all my memories there because of this. It's not something you expected to give your viewers, and don't think you should start building things to have this happen again with others. Keep building just the way you like. This was a happy accident, and if you continue like this, happy accidents will happen again and again! (Just remembered that my grandparents always reminded me of Bob Ross, lol)
As someone who is absolutely obsessed with your save file, I’d rather it take longer and you enjoy making the builds. The save is so fun already as it is, and even with the stair glitch (which has been fixed as of a recent update!) it’s by far the best save I’ve ever played. All of the builds are gorgeous, the townies are awesome and really make sense for the worlds, and everything feels so real and authentic while still having the sims cartoon-y silliness. It’s clear that you’re a very good storyteller, and you not only have an knack for aesthetic but for understanding what it means and what makes people tick, and that’s why this is my favorite sims channel.
Actually the stair glitch has been fixed in the latest update (finally) i loved the house and video... you've put so much work into this save 😊🌷

Hey Dawn, I just have to say I really love your builds! I know that you’ve been needing motivation to work on your save file and I have an idea for the big three story apartment in the city! I think it would be super fun to see a single dad and his two kids living there and the dad is a workaholic that feels bad about it so he constantly is buying his kids things! I think it would be so cool if the top floor was an arcade/game room for the kids with maybe even a built in bowling alley for them! The middle floor would be where the sims all live and the bottom floor could still be a super cool pool room, but it could be spa like because maybe one of the kids really like wellness or fitness or something. Just an idea!

I'm glad you're building in Evergreen Harbor so much honestly. I only played with the world for a few weeks after it came out and the only houses I could build were modern. Giving me lots of inspiration
Ngl- this gives me Detroit vibes- like evergreen harbor and how the whole world is developed just really gives me a whole vibe of detroit. I dont live there but i have family there so i visit quite often.

I love this build so much its so gorgeous and realistic 🥺 I actually quite like Jeb wearing the bag over his head, the wiki implies his ashamed of his family and their potential underground business so I really liked that as a storytelling thing - no pressure for you to keep it for the save just thought I'd mention it!
To answer your question about reshades on consoles, from what I know Consoles can't download any mods, cc, or reshades. I might be wrong but I believe that is correct as of right now.

The most recent patch fixed that issue with the open second level.
when i was younger, yeah, we had a floral print couch too. a full set, but it looked more like the base game's fancy couch with the brown wood lining and circular fancy armrests than the fluffy comfy homey couches you used

So.., if ya'ller having trouble with sims going upstairs 1) go into " build/buy" mode, 2) select fences, 3) hold ctrl button, 3) delet the invisible fence at the direct top stairs eventhoigh it's open space. than your sims (should) be able to Travers upstairs. 🙂 😎 🌟
P/S, I'm not sure how you'd be able to or if you're able to do this on console or not 🤔.
The grandma style build got me thinking like I'm a 90s a child and that is how I see "grandma style", but what about when the next generation of grandma's are around and generation z see "grandma style" completely differently. Crazy.

They fixed the stair issue in the last patch. I was super excited about that! I'd rather have your builds how you intended them, even if i need a placeholder floor for in the meantime

Actually, you are the reason why I started doing my own safe file - rebuilding/renovating all the lots, etc. But sometimes, I find it difficult to keep stay focused on one lot at a time. Most times, I just build the exterior and move on to another lot - and it happens a lot lately. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to stop being so all over the show with the building?

Do you just have to bring the modern version in from the gallery or is there a way to have both versions saved-in game?
You just have to type in a cheat! Just search "Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Cheats" and it should be one of the first few.

So technically the house was owned by the grandmother, the first generation, she’s so humble by giving up her second floor room
Just an FYI bedrooms have to have a window to be a legal bedroom so the room in basement isn't a legal bedroom. It Needs a window well and a window. I use 1x2 or 1x3 rooms then put small windows then put the platform up to the bottom of the window to make a window well. The small snowy escape windows that look like they slide over is the ones I use the most.
The windows she uses in the garage are the windows I use in window wells.

Freegan conflicts with both ambitious and foodie so I don't think she has any high aspirations in her career
I think if you consider the thematic lore of the rest of the family it's more likely she'd be one of those family mom's that bakes and makes meals to sell to her neighbors and always has the best items at her kids bake sales 😆
