the doll going off was definitely an answer to sam's question! it was from the traphouse days when they lived there, which is a different location from where sam lives now. the constants are sam and the doll, answering that the PEOPLE are haunted, not the places. also the painting falling could also mean something? like the only way to get rid of the attached spirits is to die? since blunt force trauma to your head can kill you (not that the painting could, just theoretically).
