I repeat a similar comment on many of these 70s and 80s commercial collections. I can't explain how enjoyable these are to watch. The pull of nostalgia is so powerful. I was born in 74, so this is my childhood. While nostalgia is a big part of the attraction, I honestly believe there were a lot of aspects of life in the 70s and 80s were genuinely better. Not perfect (no time is), but better.
I remember the Chrysler Cordoba, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Buick Park Avenue with the moon roof and other cars. I used to say, when I get grown, I'm gonna buy one of those. Well, by then, they stopped making them. 😣😭
I don't know why but there's something magic about the late 70s commericals, it's like a time capsule of the end and climax of a slower, traditional time just before the start of a new, more indivualized, technological era
FORD LTD, BABY! 👍😎 My grandparents used to have a 1978 Green Ford LTD V8 with the Vinyl Top and the Headlight covers that open upwards when you turn the headlights on. I miss that car.
Wow this is a very personal time machine. Some of these were aired in Rochester, NY 1977-1978. I was 3 yrs old, in Rochester, NY in 1978. And the "Police Woman" midshow bumpers at 52:06 and 53:11 used the title theme by Morton Stevens. And the first midshow bumper before an NBC promo and a local NBC station break reminded viewers "Police Woman" will return in a moment, while the second midshow bumper after a local NBC station break did return to "Police Woman" for the second half hour.
