***** I know this isn't really part of your job but at least inform Subaru owners that which parts require a tune, ESPECIALLY a downpipe! and you took it for a test drive and and went into boost without a tune? must be looking for a new engine then eh?
***** you also did not mention removing the restrictor pill during install, which is a very important part of the installation process. did you do that on this car?
What exhaust do you have on there? Is there anything else besides the mishimoto dp? I like the mishimoto combo with whatever exhaust that is due to the lower rumble. Some of the other videos with the mishimoto have various exhausts but they sound too tin can-ish. Thanks man!
Great question, in this video we were using the Invidia N1 catback exhaust. www.rallysportdirect.com/part/cat-back-exhaust-system/inv-hs15stigtt-invidia-n1-cat-back-exhaust-titanium-tip Thanks! Rick
i know this was months ago but in case you still didn’t know, catted means catalytic converter. Resonaters act as a silencer for the exhaust built into the pipe. On this particular model, the stock midpipe is actually a non resonated straight pipe. There are two cats and a resonator which are all located on the j pipe. So catted would mean a j pipe with a cat and resonated would mean a j pipe/aftermarket mid pipe with a resonator. You could have all different kind of combinations of set ups with aftermarket pipes
If you get a tune for the downpipe, which you should, you would want to remove the restrictor on the vacuum line going to the wastegate(it’s the one with the wrap around it) but usually I just remove the stock line and grab a 1/4 inch or 6mm vacuum hose to replace it, much easier that way :)
Looks good. I'm happy with my Depo Racing catless Downpipe though. I made 304 WHP and 347WTQ. I am thankful mishimoto is making parts but respectfully I wouldn't overpay. I been modifying cars long enough to know what I'm looking at. But I may try their radiator
+Jones10395 you would want a tune for a high flow downpipe, it does not need to be specific towards that brand, but just a high flow exhaust in general. With the Accessport for example, you would be a stage 2 with the j-pipe. Thanks, Rick
How long does it take to install this? Is it possible to do this on Jack stands? Last question is if I installed this would I need a dyno tune or would Cobbs stage two map work fine?
***** Did you use a penetrating lubricant for the studs you mentioned? It seems everybody runs in to this problem when removing the stock downpipe. Some tips please?
I got one from a guy who's transmission bracket broke so they sent him a new one. Does anyone know what things I will need install kit wise? I have a 3" cat
If you replace the downpipe but keep the stock exhaust, would the stage 2 flash be the way to go? So far I just have the mishi CAI and am running stage 1....
+Mitch Brenner Correct, even a stock catback with an aftermarket downpipe would be stage 2. Although Cobb does not have a map specific for the Mishimoto cold air intake, so just keep that in mind :) Thanks, Rick
Yeah Mishimoto placed the catalytic converter on the opposing end where the exhaust downpipe, midpipe portion & catback meet. I'm liking the Mishimoto design as they seem to be the only 2015 WRX downpipe manufacture that makes a 2015 WRX downpipe for both 6speed MT and CVT model vehicles.
Do i have to tune the ecu? Or it will be fine without a tune. Beacause im only after the sounds of it and my car is a cvt. A little heavy traffic can occur at my place. Pls reply thanks!
+cypresschino Yes, as you remove one of the factory catalytic converters, you would get a CEL without a tuner. I should also mention, that because of that, this part is for offroad use only as well. :) Thanks, Rick
lol your video makes it looks so easy and simple XD granted it is straight foward, it is just a pain in the ass to get those top nuts off the fucking stock downpipe :D
The factory downpipe has 2 very restrictive catalysts which are designed more for emissions than performance. This downpipe has a single high flow cat which while still good for the emissions, it was designed for high flow and high power. Thanks, Rick
HOLY piping batman!!!!!....does that thing extend the length of the car?
Will it work with the stock exhaust? With stock exhaust, will it still have power gain?
What kind of gains were you seeing after the tune?

Im new to the car scene but whats the difference between catted vs resonated?
i know this was months ago but in case you still didn’t know, catted means catalytic converter. Resonaters act as a silencer for the exhaust built into the pipe. I live near your warehouse in SLC and plan on coming to get some parts shortly. Who do you recommend for a pro tune in the area?
I live in California will this not let me pass a smog check? Just want to know when that day comes I'm prepared to install the stock exhaust back.
It’s safe remove a catalyst converter to put down pipe??
Hi nice vids like always. How come you guys didnt install a heat shield too?
I meant the turbo heat shield
do you not need that dual sided adapter for the back end that i have seen in some downpipe pictures?
***** dang.. i have one coming today, and i never saw on option on your site to add an adapter when i ordered. dont know if it will bolt right up.
LastHumansGarage hey i watch your videos! P.s i like your downpipe install vid
Do you have to take out the restrictor pill in one of the vacuum lines ? Or is that made up

@@rallysportdirect thank you
what other mods are you running besides the jpipe and catback?
Looks good. I'm happy with my Depo Racing catless Downpipe though. I made 304 WHP and 347WTQ. I am thankful mishimoto is making parts but respectfully I wouldn't overpay. I been modifying cars long enough to know what I'm looking at. But I may try their radiator
MrLegacy36 what other mods do you have? Is that with the stock catback? Just order the Depo racing catted downpipe.
RallySport Direct would you say that this down pipe along with an intake and a tune will make this car faster than a stock sti?
***** thanks for the info!
The N1 on this Vehicle, is it a single sided or dual sided? I can't tell based on where the gopro is mounted.
Will it pass Emissions the Catted version ?
So when you say you need a tune after the j-pipe is installed. Does that mean you need a tune for that specific modification or a stage 1?
+Jones10395 you would want a tune for a high flow downpipe, it does not need to be specific towards that brand, but just a high flow exhaust in general. With the Accessport for example, you would be a stage 2 with the j-pipe.

+baymeo split that's what she said
I got one from a guy who's transmission bracket broke so they sent him a new one. Does anyone know what things I will need install kit wise? I have a 3" cat
Have you guys tried this on a 2010-2012 lgt? Or at least put them side by side?
Thanks!
Bro you install downpipe if the check engine light on what should I do for the check engine light is off
If you replace the downpipe but keep the stock exhaust, would the stage 2 flash be the way to go? So far I just have the mishi CAI and am running stage 1....

+RallySport Direct Ugh - so we're talking a custom tune at that point then?
+RallySport Direct Actually Cobb has released a custom map for the Mishimoto and ETS cold air intakes.
Is this compatible with cobb accessport
You bet! That's what we are running with ours :)
Thanks,
Rick
Where does the ground go back onto?
The downpipe has a provision for it, just re-use the small factory bolt to secure the ground strap to the downpipe :)
Thanks,
Rick
So u would half to get a tune with this down pipe. So the check engine light want come on
A little confused...this looks like a CATLESS down+mid pipe?
Raul Barbosa 0:49 that bulge is the cat

Can I use cobb ots tune for this downpipe?
Dude, the stock 2015 WRX is not a smooth power delivery as you describe it several times in this video.
What's with the green cv axles? Did I miss something there?
I have a tomei exhaust on my 2015 wrx and its loud but can I add a catted downpipe and still have the tomei on on?
You bet, a factory replacement catted downpipe would work great with your Tomei Exhaust.
Thanks,
Rick
why is the stock downpipe so restricted in the first place?
cuz federal regulations and fuel economy is more important than performance to them
I want this DP, did you get any CEL running the stage 2 map from cobb ?
+Lawrence Grimaldi No, the Accessport will take care of the CEL :)
Thanks,
Rick
+RallySport Direct awesome thank you
When you get emmisions done, will it show that that the downstream O2 is turned off?
Nice, I can't wait to get mine........
does this fit the sti??
No, this will only fit the 15+ WRX. Give us a call and we can go over your options for downpipes :)
Thanks,
Rick
Do i have to tune the ecu? Or it will be fine without a tune. Beacause im only after the sounds of it and my car is a cvt. A little heavy traffic can occur at my place. Pls reply thanks!
cel? and I don't mean just turning it off with a tuner.
+cypresschino Yes, as you remove one of the factory catalytic converters, you would get a CEL without a tuner. I should also mention, that because of that, this part is for offroad use only as well. :)
Thanks,

Can I go stage 2 with this mod on CVT?
+El Antifeca Unfortunately they do not have a stage 2 map available for the CVT equipped cars.
Thanks,
Rick
lol your video makes it looks so easy and simple XD granted it is straight foward, it is just a pain in the ass to get those top nuts off the fucking stock downpipe :D
+brandon rondan Yeah I fought with those bolts a bit too haha :)
Thanks,
Rick
+RallySport Direct man one I smacked with a hammer and chisel to get off but them I went aboigjt an deep extractor socket set worked so much better XD
That's a big downpipe
Dominik Kus That's what she said
+Dominik Kus its the down and mid together the cobb one comes seperate in two pieces
P0420 code
Bye bye warranty! Lol

The factory downpipe has 2 very restrictive catalysts which are designed more for emissions than performance. This downpipe has a single high flow cat which while still good for the emissions, it was designed for high flow and high power.
