Hi Linda - The website can be hosted on any server. You can use the plugin as long as you have a valid Stripe account with WeChat Pay or Alipay fully approvedd/activated.
Almost all standard websites are visible in China unless they go against policies of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. You can choose to register your business in China and apply for an ICP license in order to guarantee access. You can also attempt to open a new Stripe account for a different business purpose and reapply for Alipay. If the payment method is not eligible on your Stripe account, then you unfortunately cannot use the plugin.
Hi there - it is possible with an Alipay Global Merchant Account - global.alipay.com/platform/site/product/online-payment. We do have plans to possibly support this in the future with China Payments Plugin.

@@dustbites3557if you're using the proper WooCommerce paywall plugin, you should have no problem. We wouldn't handle the paywall part of what you're talking about, but as long as you're using WooCommerce, our plugin can handle the rest for customers who have a WeChat account or Alipay account. They would not have to register on the site unless you wanted them to.
