    ======================================================
    WHAT IS IT CIRCUIT BREAKER: (00:10)
    A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by excess current, typically resulting from an overload or short circuit. Its basic function is to interrupt current flow after a fault is detected. Unlike a fuse, which operates once and then must be replaced, a circuit breaker can be reset (either manually or automatically) to resume normal operation.
    MAIN PARTS OF CIRCUIT BREAKER: (00:49)
    Body of MCB, Incoming Terminal, Magnetic Coil, Bimetal Strip, Arc Chute, Copper Braid, Operator ON/OFF
    HOW DOES A CIRCUIT BREAKER WORK: (02:10)
    The most important thing that Circuit Breaker is doing is to safely and reliably switches off electrical circuit during abnormal conditions of the network, that means over load condition as well as faulty condition
    TYPES OF MINIATURE CIRCUIT BREAKER: (04:25)
    MCBs are classified into three major types according to their instantaneous tripping currents. They are
    Type B MCB
    Type C MCB
    Type D MCB

    Circuit breaker A,B,C,D operating curves can be very critical in high inductance circuits like VFD's and other motor systems. Engineers, know your CB curves!

  • @FrancescoCositore
    @FrancescoCositore 6 лет назад +1

    I would like to highlight two aspects:
    1) The input terminal is always on top of the device and not on its bottom;
    2) What you show in the animation could happen only for overload current. In case of short-circuit the opening dynamics is totally different.
    Also, an physics observation, does not exist any current when a circuit is open (as shown on 2:30). There is only a potential difference between the input and output terminals.
    Anyway, great animation and video! :-) ;-)

    • @chrvoje_engineering
      @chrvoje_engineering  6 лет назад

      Mr Francesco, let m answer on your question?
      1) Automatic fuses are two way (in most casses - schrack, eaton, schneider fuses), input can be up and down

    • @chrvoje_engineering
      @chrvoje_engineering  6 лет назад +3

      2) short circuit is some kind of overload circuit (just much high), in one hand you are right, but I just want to show simply animation to people ubderstund, maybe in next video I will try to make even better :):):)

    • @FrancescoCositore
      @FrancescoCositore 6 лет назад

      Fuses are different kind of device, they are reversible component. Circuit Breaker are not reversible. They functionality depends from where to where the power flows. In fact, on distribution lines (Medium voltage line) the protection are bidirectional. In any case, the switch that could be "up and down" will be totally different from which you shown in the video.

    • @FrancescoCositore
      @FrancescoCositore 6 лет назад

      The working principle in case of short-circuit is totally different. In case of short-circuit the main effect is magnetic and not thermical as shown in the video.

    • @FrancescoCositore
      @FrancescoCositore 6 лет назад

      Anyway, I rappreciate your work because the video and the presentation are really well done! ;-)

    Could someone please explain to me in layman's terms where and why you would use an RCBO over a MCB? I'm not an expert, but im told an RCBO has the same safety features plus more than an MCB, so why not just use RCBOS everywhere? Or am I misinformed? Thank you in advance

    I think the MCB is upsidedown in the animation. The arc will rise to the extinguisher because it's hot. In your animation the arc has to move downwards to the extinguisher.
