    Adam I’m a senior golfer here and have only played for 5 years. I have watched about everyone but you help me more than anyone else. You have the best channel on the net. Thank you for the time and great videos.

    Again, as with the "hitting your driver straight" video, I truly admire the fact that you explain the mechanics of 'how to be one with the club' so clearly, and talk about 'feel' rather than executing robotic individual steps and positions in the golf swing sequence. I'd love to spend a month training with you! But helas....

    Adam, would using a set of irons with maximum offset contribute to my hitting the ball fat?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  6 лет назад

      Honestly, I don't think there is a direct correlation there. That said, if the look of the club bothers you that may have some effect. Offset clubs are designed to make ball go higher, and maybe hook a bit more (on a full shot).

    Would a very slight change in ball location at set up make difference as far as unexpected chunking goes?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  6 лет назад

      It might make a difference, yes. With good motion the club should still brush rather than chunk, although if the ball was too far forward you'd likely brush the ground behind the ball.

      If I placed the ball slightly to the RIGHT of centre, would that help on the attack angle or do you think I would lose too much loft?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  6 лет назад

      I think it would be OK as long as you don't forward press the club shaft too much at address.

      Yes, too much forward lean means I would risk jamming the ball into the ground or getting mimimal rise on the ball after impact... So a bit of forwards lean, maybe 2 inches, (5 cm) with the ball 1/2" to 1" to the right of centre would make for less chunking, for me at least. I will try next Spring.
      - I also have noted (elsewhere on YT) that getting my feet just a wee bit more closer to the ball on address would help to make contact at the widest portion of the club face, (thus keeping the shaft more upright on the swing) and thereby adding to consistency. I have tried that and it seems to help.
