Thank you, this is very great information.
I heard you say that having an employee at the time of visa application is not really a requirement? Do you need an employee or more at all for your visa to be approved or renewed at later date?

Good advice, thank you. Something I would like add--I completed my first e2 application by myself and even though I had a company in the US and $150k in intangible assets and $120k of inventory under its name, because my $120k of inventory wasn't physically located in the US at the time of my interview, my visa waa denied. I have since resolved the issue and applied again, but I wanted to make others aware. Good luck!

Thank you for this. If I get my visa, how long can I wait till I can come back to the U.S.? I am back in Canada and may take up a part time contract job while my visa is pending… I am thinking of returning back to the U.S. about 3 months after I get the visa… is that okay? (Because I want to complete my contract with the job )

Yes, you can wait 3 months to return to the U.S. after receiving your visa, as long as it remains valid when you travel and your purpose aligns with the visa type. Be sure to consult with an immigration lawyer to ensure compliance with all requirements.

He says come prepared for the interview and know your business. Yet he said he's the one who overlooks the application when it first comes in and pretty much decides yes or no. So in reality it's already pre decided before you go up to the window for your interview. 😮

He advises coming prepared and knowing your business well, even though he initially reviews the application and often decides upfront. Preparation is still key for the interview.
