600 mm Heavy Liner Tested in the FX Impact M3 😎

  • This is a test of the new (12-2022) 177 600 mm STX Superior Heavy liner in the FX Impact M3.
The test is made with two different slugs:
13 gr. ZAN and the 15 gr. NSA
    They are tested at 75m (82y) and 100m (109y)
The reason for me to choose these slugs is because I have tested them both in the STX Superior liner so this is to see the difference between the liners and if it makes sence to change into the heavy liner.
For some reason I forgot to include in the video that the twistrate of the heavy liner is the same as the standard STX Superior liner 1:18.
    Enjoy

Thanks for showing your experiments with the new "heavy" liner Peter. I got a 700 mm liner home here last Monday and am looking forward to the warmer weather (and probably more wind) so that my old arthritic fingers don't freeze to the trigger. 😃
Personally, I'm looking forward to running some 20 grains through to see if the new "heavy" liner can stabilize their flight down towards the target.

And the bigger calibers can not be shot in the garden like the 177 and it has to be registered and locked up in a safe.

No problem to be slightly off topic 😃
I have actually not tried the Donnyfl, but I would love to try. Moderators requires a permit here in Denmark, so it is a bit of a hazzle getting them.
But the difference between the standard one from FX and the Huma is not that much of a difference. Not that the Huma is bad, but maybe bcs the 177 is not so loud at low reg(?)

I will give you the short answer here and go deeper into the issue in a future video - planning a Q&A video in a near future.
First thing is to wait for the gun to get the same temperature as the surroundings. It can be quite inconsistant for a short while if you take it directly from the house to the garden. Will explain more in the video.
Secondly the ammo might like a different velocity than in the summer. Might not be much, but it can usually be solved with some fine adjustments 🙂

    • @VikingAirgunner
      @VikingAirgunner  Год назад

The idea about the heavy liner is to be able to shoot heavier slugs and in the 177 it has been a challenge to make anything above 13 gr to fly aswell as the 13 gr, so as you can see here, the 15 gr NSA imidiately grouped better in the heavy liner than it ever did for me in the superior liner🙂

I have not done anything special to my first reg, but if it is so slow at filling that it effects the filling of the 2nd reg it might be an idea to rebuild with new o-rings 🤔
