Myth & reality -"Over-run brakes may only be used on trailers that do not exceed 2 tonnes GTM"

Eamon from ‪@VariantTrailersAustralia‬ tells us about the additional compliance we have on our trailers to allow the use of KNOTT mechanical braking systems up to 3500kg. With no chnages to ADR's -VSB1 V6 is now clear about this statement. "Over-run brakes may only be used on trailers that do not exceed 2 tonnes GTM".
Clarity is -"Over-run brakes may be used on trailers with a GTM up to 2,000kg. Up to 2,000kg GTM, brakes may be fitted to only one axle. Over 2,000kg GTM, the brakes must operate on all wheels. Trailers over 2,000kg GTM must be fitted with an efficient emergency braking system (breakaway brakes)."
You just need an efficient emergency braking system.
