Hi, KL is a bigger city so prices will be slightly higher but it would not be noticeable...if we had to guess it would be 300-500 more a month. The different between KL and Penang at you will notice will be the traffic and pace of life. Penang is completely different in that aspect. 1k for a simple person is feasible.

I think you have to keep quite a bit in the local bank to retire here + visa fees. I had heard 80k from an elderly expat who wasn't able to after he no longer worked. Other than that it's dirt cheap. Plus the 80k is still yours, just kept here. Higher than many Asian countries but worth it. So safe in Penang. And beautiful.
It seems that you are REQUIRED to invest a considerable sum of cash in a Malaysian bank, in order to retire there. That is not cost-effective for those who only have a monthly income.
Yes, that is one way of being able to live in Malaysia permanently. There are other ways you can live there permanently also. Another way is to start a business, starting a biz there is very inexpensive and easy. We meet several expats that have done it, it doesn't have to be a multimillion dollar business either. In Kuala Lumpur & Selangor u can get the fastest internet home fiber up to 1Gbps . Is more cheaper than u got in Penang . I'm not sure in Penang they have internet speed more than 100mbps . But when i see u have to pay more than RM250 per month with the sluggish speed internet sounds crazy actually. One of the best that u probably not notice in Penang is , that state don't have so many crazy toll compare to where i live now in KL/Selangor .

Malaysia seems totally affordable as far as the cost of living goes. I like how there seems to be an abundance of affordable quality food everywhere. That internet service would be frustrating, though. Why does everything have to be so flaming expensive here in these western territories?

Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching 👍🏾

Hey guys! What is the name of the town in Penang you’re in again? I didn’t quite catch the name from your video. I think you said something like Batu something. 😊
HI, yes that's the name Batu Ferringhi.
Hi, Penang had great internet. We only had an issue with TM at Island Resort. It has been fixed, thank you.
Hello, new and first time viewer of your content. I'm here in the States, this video gives a lot of information about expenses but of course a concern would be income.. How would someone be able to live similar to your families lifestyle. What employment there would make this feasible or what do you guys do for a living /income to maintain? Thanks
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. There are plenty of ways to create income online. One of the ways travelers are able to maintain this lifestyle is by teaching English online, there are other ways also. We will be creating a video soon on how to earn a living online soon. Hey, Tenaj and Tino, thanks for this! Your video is very educational and informative! Plus, you guys are very entertaining! I am seriously considering looking into Malaysia as a possible new home for myself. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! :)
Hi Julian, thanks for subbing 😘can't wait to take you on our adventures!
Malaysia seems totally affordable as far as the cost of living goes. I like how there seems to be an abundance of affordable quality food everywhere. That internet service would be frustrating, though. Why does everything have to be so flaming expensive here in these western territories?
Hi. Yes, Malaysia is very affordable for any budget. The internet issue was one of the things we didn't like about Island Resort.
OMG a studio in Mont Kiara KL is RM2300 and you have a million dollar view with 3 bedroom for RM2100!!!
Yes, a 3 bedroom for 2300 MYR 😀 isn't that craaazy....another reason to 😍 love it here 🇲🇾
I stay in Melaka.my medium cost apartment 1000ft 3bedroom 2washroom 2balcony near city centre rent only cost rm400+(usd100) a month..I just come back from Toronto, Canada less than a month, I rent a very small studio condo near city centre over there for 22days fr airbnb cost me around rm12000++ 😂 (around 4k Canadian dollars including tax)
Calvi ck wow, what an excellent price n Melaka.
Calvi ck wow, what an excellent price in Melaka.
If u live in Malaysia (Selangor) if your water and electricity bill is below RM10 per month it's free no need to pay the bill and the bill will show u RM0
We didn't know that..we received a water bill every two months and it was between 5-10 RM.
Hi, great video, very informative. Wondering what kind of a visa you were on, if renting and staying a year. Did you do Visa runs every 90 days? If so, any problems around that? Or are you on the M2H program? Thanks!
Hi, thanks for watching. We did I visa runs and didn't run into any real problems.
@@TenajTino That's cool but what about for long term? Will you keep doing visa runs? I would think for "retirement" purposes,a long term visa would be a better way to go.Thoughts?
Hi, thanks for commenting. Yes a long term visa would always be preferred over visa runs. But this current travel style fits our lifestyle.
Thanks for this video. It's awesome! Please what is the name of Daniel's school?
Hi, please message us via FB or IG, out of privacy and respect for the school.
