One of my aunts worked for a gentleman who owned a house on Monas, and we were fortunate to accompany her when she took her vacations ' Down the islands' as she was allowed to use the place. We had great times there and I remember watching all the pretty power boats going by and wishing I could own one. Thanks for the memories.
Trinidad is so beautiful it’s so sad to see what’s happening in the city, was never like that decades ago, like everything, maybe in time it will change back.Enjoyed your video, keep it up.

It’s like the Ellis island of New York. They brought in the immigrants there just in case of prevention of disease in Trinidad. Very informative never knew this place existed.
Perhaps you may consider getting a crew of locals and showcase the cleaning up of the garbage left on Ellis Island and surroundings. If we want to attract visitors we have to make it an attractive paradise. Very little money need to be spent to clean up. Please address this with the Tourism Trinidad
Thank you so much for your efforts on this tour and for showing us the history of things that most of us have long since forgotten. I'm not quite sure why you were so shocked by the ages of the indentured servants though. Field work is grueling and has long days. One would assume that they wanted young healthy labourers to do it and I can't imagine they wanted anybody over 40. One would also assume that Jagdeo aged 1 came over with his young parents who wanted a better life for their family rather than as a labourer himself! 😉 It's no more strange than young Mexicans, Filipinos, and even West Indians migrating to the States, Canada, and other Western societies to do the most menial labour in order to get 'a taste of the good life' (in their eyes). It never fails to surprise me how people who would never deign to do "low class" work in their own country are happy to lap it up overseas.
By the way Dre I will gladly contribute to your channel if you want to help with the clean up of all the plastic and other trash that's destroying the environment down there. Thanks
You are Brave to kayak across those deep waters. Love the videos, be safe and thanks for sharing.
Just leaving a comment to encourage, there is so much of Trinidad and Tobago that most people don’t know about , keep making videos ♥️

😦song @24:47 sec. Thanks for the walk through history.
Can we just go on nelson island just so or we have to get permission
You have to contact National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago at 225 4750, and they would make arrangements for your visit.
Where did the stair go too?
Nice info but what are the names of all of those islands...for peeps like me who haven't lived in trini for more than 40 years 🤔
when was this blog done
Shot around February 6th 2021

Thanks. Would let you know once I decide to go back on a cleaning drive.
The Tourism Ministry needs to make these places s Tourist spots. Total failure
Yes these would be really good spots
Bro could u swim
You can swim at the islands but I would recommend life jackets and swimming in groups.
CDA could upgrade this area a bit more it's about time.
Ah feel I’ll make a swing down on dat side wit de wife and kids and full a few garbage bags...
Awesome video ❤
