Grandmaster out of book on move two! Well I now see why there are chess videos on YT that say "you cannot memorize your way to chess excellence". However, if you are playing Blitz 3-0, there is no time to think your way through the opening. This a real problem/dilemma for me, that I am working to solve, and I welcome any ideas/solutions from anybody who has made progress with this problem. Note - I am very motivated to solve this problem/dilemma because after many years absence from chess, I just started going to a chess club (in Guatemala) where once a week they have a Blitz 3-0 tournament.
I'm glad you went over that whole d5 with Ne4 scenario with the bishop on b7. To know Grandmaster also struggles with that is a comfort. I'm never sure what to do to in that situation. I sort of have stopping them playing e4 higher up on the priority ladder, so I seek to occupy it at all costs.Seems to occur in Nc3 lines instead without c4.
Hello Simon, just a quick note about analysis: green is better than blue. In the accuracy board, if you hover with the mouse over excellent (blue) it says "Almost as good as the Best move", and best (green) says "The chess engine's top choice"
These positional problems that you've faced in this game (pathetic bishop on b7, pathetic knight on a6) are exactly the reasons that have conviced me to distrust the Dutch defense in general ... Will you succeed in repairing the black line of that game ?
Thank you for the game Simon! I think the matter of Ne4 has to do with the fiancetto'ed light square bishop, maybe unusual? I think i recall you saying we could postpone the development of the light square bishop in a lot of Dutches. Also i'll remember a3, sounds like second line theory for club play.

I'm looking forward to the new killer dutch, as I'm a chessable fan too but I wish you had everything on your website; The trainer on chessable is not that useful as we rarely play the exact lines. Simon, perhaps you should consider playing your longer games on lichess. That website seems to have much less of a cheaters problem (although obviously you will still face some of them over there). I know you work for chess.com, so you can't say they have a terrible cheat-detecting system. But just give lichess a try, for your longer games. Otherwise, maybe try to play 10 minute-games, which is an option on chess.com. This is technically blitz, but you still have a lot of time to think. John Bartholomew has been doing that recently.

Simon, I think your fans get these folks banned. The fact of the matter is that if you watch this video back, you predicted the vast majority of his moves. Have you ever considered the possibility that you are getting innocent players banned?
It's nothing to do with the number of people who report. Chess.com cheat algorithm looks at all of his games and makes an assessment. It's clear from his archive he's a cheat. Also very strange for someone who is apparently such a huge fan of Simon to have only created a chess.com account on June 11...
GingerGM I'm glad to hear this. I've never been too familiar with the methods used for chess.com, but it's been something I've thought about since a few videos back. Glad to know it's nothing to be concerned over. Keep on trucking Simon! This is my favorite series of yours
Nice cheater, they're evolving! Maybe you should play fans for longer games, even if they're weaker as what matters is thought process and it would be better to see you explaining why/how they blunder than seeing you trying hard to beat a computer.
Do you have a contract with chess.com that forces you to keep playing long games there, because I do think that you are aware that 90% of long games you play here are cheaters.
It's a sad state of affairs when a decent untitled player can't play a good, strong game (not that any of his moves were amazingly inspired) whithout being immediately suspected of cheating. Anyway, good video, as always.
it is sad for this decent player to play the game of his life on chess.com. If he is able to make 97,5% in a "real" tournament, he would be very good and probably much better than 2200 (which is a decent rating, let's admit that). The problem is that everything is anonymous on internet (apart from Simon Williams and some other guys) and that a very good performance can always be suspected. 97,5% is very suspicious.
Because Simon reported him and they probably didn't look into it any more diligently than that. Of course, I understand Simon's frustration at encountering so many cheating sods when he's trying to record instructional and entertaining videos for us. As I said, it's a sad state of affairs. Thankfully, Simon's videos are always a pleasure to watch regardless.
@laurent balagué You shouldn't obsess over those percentages. It's just a gimmick that chess.com decided to feature. First of all, it does not accurately determine the accuracy level that each player displayed (how ironic), because the engine is not given the time to proprely analyse the game. And secondly, it depends greatly on the nature of the positions. If it's not a complicated tactical game, then a decent player can get a high percentage if he is familiar with the positional themes. I am rated under 2100 Fide and I've obtained a 99% accuracy in certain blitz games. It's really not very relevant.
@@HighlyCruciferous All right for the percentage. But one other thing is that that guy played quite fast and did not commit any mistake (because he did not and that is a fact whatever you think about the percentage).
He played several suboptimal moves. For example, exchanging queens was a very human approach, but far from best according to the engine. And in general I think his play had a very logical feel to it from a human perspective. He didn't blunder, but why should he have ? He got a nice advantage out of the opening and Black didn't pose any serious problems to his conversion. I could be wrong, but if he was banned on the sole basis of this game, that seems quite unjustified.
Should rename the series to "Getting chesscom engine users banned one at a time."

@dagnu Ah yes...but the board is not trying to destroy you.
Why buy the most expensive premium account just to get banned for cheating? And knowing you're being recorded too.
Too many cheaters.
What’s wrong with using an engine to win?
What's wrong with someone using an engine to win is that they're using an engine to win. That's that.
Because it's player versus player. Not player versus computer
He was reported, investigated and banned before this video was published.
GingerGM I'm glad to hear this. I've never been too familiar with the methods used for chess.com, but it's been something I've thought about since a few videos back. Glad to know it's nothing to be concerned over. Keep on trucking Simon! This is my favorite series of yours
Nice guy means he a cheater hahahah
Nice cheater, they're evolving! Maybe you should play fans for longer games, even if they're weaker as what matters is thought process and it would be better to see you explaining why/how they blunder than seeing you trying hard to beat a computer.
Juraj Jurík he was a fan
I just scrolled through his archive, he averages 99% accuracy, definite cheater in my opinion. This time control is a cesspool for these cheaters.
Do I believe that this guy played at the 97% accuracy level against a Grandmaster? No, I don't, I'm sorry, statistically he's cheating
You have bad luck with cheater my friend
A cheater
Everyone cheats
Lol what a terrible cheater
This was clearly a cheater with only 20 at puzzle rush and
every move is the best move...yeah right who is he Kasparov?
