I'm actually surprised he's not in a million movies with an attitude like that, and he could easily play characters that are 15 years younger than he is
One of the best panels so far. The fact that his eyes still water from remembering his LOTR audition years ago is incredible. What an amazing panel. Thank you so much, Zach, for bringing this together.
Totally agree. Probably my favourite panel in a long time. Plus him being in LOTR is a huge plus, since it's probably my favourite trilogy of anything ever!
Somehow listening to Elijah Wood swear is the most adorable thing I also love what he said to the redheaded girl "I love redheads! You're a genetic mutation! A real-life X-men!" I need to tell all my redheaded friends that lol
Anyone here is a fan of Elijah from his childhood movies? I'm not really a fan of the LOTR...yet. I just love Elijah's old movies like Radio Flyer (breaks my heart every time), the Good Son, the Adventures of Huck Finn and Flipper. That's when my fandom started as a kid :D
As a former professional musician, I’m so glad that there were no cell phones. People came listen and watch the bands.... in our case usually the band we opened for, but still :D Before covid broke out, I went to Steel Panther. A bar that I really like. And whenever I was in US they were playing in my country, so for 5 years I never got to see a show. So I’m February 2020 they played in my town. And I snapped a few pictures and few small shots. And they rest just full out enjoyed watching them. And getting thrashed in the mosh pit :) Suddenly late 40s felt very old :) So we retreated to the back near the bar and watched the spectacle there. And what I recorded sounded so distorted.
I really appreciate him answering these questions, esp the one about separating from the franchise how that felt/when it hit him and then he says he hung out for a month visiting the set and then sharing info that some are the same crew but up in higher positions "thankfully, 10 years have passed, makes sense" haha. idk what about that felt amazing. real people with real jobss and I bet it was wonderful having him on the set and out of his own will too.
i remember walking down a wellington street and i heard people running. i looked up and there were Orcs and hobbits running towards me. (forgot the premiere for the return of the king was on that day)
The song Elijah plays is Good Name by William Onyeabor (a smidgen of notes are left in this vid); you can see it on youtube as the record label Luaka Bop has it up!
My cheeks hurt from smiling the entire time, listening to Elijah talk just makes me incredibly happy
Elijah's that person to make you want to be his friend without even trying. Love his stories
He is such a treasure
His passion for comic con, travelling, and film is very admirable.
He is so intelligent and articulate and human. It's kind of amazing.
Human? That there's a hobbit.
I love Elijah Wood, seems like the coolest most down to earth nerdiest guy ever...
But he's worryingly good at playing people who are BATSHIT CRAZY.
That helps, but it's not all of it. Watch him on Wilfred... He's EXTRA strength crazy in that show it's superb.
Yeah, in Sin City it's 1000% about the eyes, with the way that film is shot... Oh man they look fucking terrifying.
Have you seen Wilfred?

Wilfred was one of the best tv shows of all time.

19:10 meanwhile, Jake Gyllenhaal was giving Peter Jackson the worst audition of his life.
