  • Last summer, I visited the Viking market at Skamby on Funen. Here I met many interesting people, and one of the meetings turned into a spontaneous interview with a skilled crafter. I hope you will enjoy the authentic sounds of a Viking market, and let's hope that there will be many more in 2022.
You can find a list of upcoming Viking markets on my website:

Yes that type of video is most interesting. It was like a living museum. The lady making the belts answered a question I had asked in a previous video (about Viking clothing) if the Vikings wore fabric belts or leather belts fronted by braiding, to be more colourful and accessible than leather.
It was also interesting to hear the Danish language against the English translation and see words that sound similar, remembering that Denmark was one of the areas that the Anglo-Saxons originated from.

Then I am glad that you got an answer to your question. I wish some of those studios actually started using authentic clothes, instead of dressing them like in Game of Thrones. Some of their clothes were beautiful with many details, which is not something "Viking" series portrays them as.

    That was great.
I could have watched another 6 hours.
Only 1 thing I have issue with is what was the blacksmith making and saying.

This is fantastic! Wouldn't I love to be there as a vendor. I'm a spinner, weaver and knitter. I'm in Canada though - I don't know of any of these types of markets which take place on the east coast, but there should be!

Wow! Thank you. I want to go to one of these. I promised to take my children to Denmark to meet their ancestors. We have a family grave. When do these viking shows take place?
