Lol I do gravel driveway only, 6 years now. I never get them to tailgate anymore, takes so much longer to fix up a crappy spread that’s too thick than it does to spread a pile with my bucket. Plus sometimes it spreads too wide when tailgating. Nice job 👍 I am also one of the few contractors that use a tractor. Got an L6060 now. Snow plowing in winter 👌💰 Got a 4in1 bucket yet? 😉
Thank you for the awesome video. My property has a gravel area for parking cars, measuring 160 square meters. I've been looking for a way to mechanically remove weeds from this area. This is one machine I've been considering for the task. My idea is to turn the soil over, so the weeds get buried and die. What do you think about this? Thanks for your help!
it works good to remove the weeds, however they grow back. So it's not a one and done easy fix. I haven't tried it yet but I'm planning to kill the weeds first with vinegar, dawn dish soap and salt mixture. Then once the weeds are dead, landplane. I also bought a propane torch that I'm going to try to kill the weeds, just have to be extra careful with that!
Yeah it's a Makita. I did a video on it. It works great. Lasts long enough that your arms are sore and then you recharge it and take a break lol. I bought a second set of batteries so I can have a set charging and a set in use. But I own a lot of Makita cordless tools and my collection keeps growing so I have a lot of batteries too. You wouldn't be able to go all day with it but it handled this one driveway job no problem
I'm sure this is a stupid question but why have a gravel driveway. I get that its cheaper than paving but why put down gravel? Why not just have it be smooth, packed dirt.
@@BorsellinoHomeServicesHis question was not 'Why have gravel rather than paving?", it was "Why have gravel rather than just compacted earth "? Good question. My response is buy a plate compactor. It disent allow weeds to grow and ...compacts the earth.
This has the rippers. They do a great job off ripping stuff up. If you rewatch the video at 6:47 you'll see them. But I also talked about it in the video the problem with them is they dig up the base layer of larger stones and it becomes problematic when trying to smoothing things out
probably depends on who you hire. I think this one was around $2,000 and it took me longer than I planned so it should have been more. That includes the truckload of new stone
This is by far the best land plane video I have seen, and I have watched many because I am getting a land plane this week.

Looks good. Is that a battery powered paddle sweep? How do you like it? Does the battery last a while?

I mean you answered the question, it's cheaper. Like A LOT cheaper. But you get what you pay for. Potholes, weeds, erosion....
Because dirt turns into mud when it rains

I was this far through before I realized that’s not the homeowner that’s a scarecrow💀💀
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!
nice job done there. should last a few winters.
I hope so!
That’s exactly what I need to have done at my house. Do you rent the planer or do you own that? Nice tractor! Great job!
I rented both actually. There's an organization that I do work for that own's it and they used to rent it to me
Not to be rude but you need to turn down your music a little gotta turn it down till you talk and turn it back up
Not rude at all! Thank you! I don't usually play any music while I'm talking in my videos so I must have screwed up. Thanks for the feedback!
What model# is your tractor?
that was a 2014 2032R. Great tractor!
Should have gotten a land plane with the rippers on it it would tear out the potholes and bring up the old gravel

How much does a job like this cost?
probably depends on who you hire. I think this one was around $2,000 and it took me longer than I planned so it should have been more. That includes the truckload of new stone
How much was the stone? What kind of stone was it? How long is your driveway?
