I was working on one of these with a broken outside handle, going to replace it with a Cal-Royal, unless they want to spend money on a Schlage.

I have a Marks brand Mortise lock and although they build their locks with the key way uoside down it has lasted for over 20 years.

I have to say that aside from panic bars, I haven’t been impressed with Falcon’s products. Their grade 2 lever handles are absolute crap, and clearly their mortise locks are poorly designed as your video indicates. Down here in sunny Florida, we see a lot of lower end “commerical” handles that have those open ends, and I question how that is code compliant per ADA and fire code.

Definitely not a quality lock. Would never recommend it to my customers. LSDA mortise locks and cylindrical levers locks a decent for when customers dont want top of the line.
