Hi Zamer,the stone horns you show in the video are the so-called 'horns of consecration' dedicated to the Sacred Bull which was venerated by the Minoean people as a 'creature of the cosmos'.
Hi Zameer, it has changed a lot since our first visit in 1997. In the "old" times there where no shops, no restaurants, no busstation. But it's still beautiful. Thanks for the Video. Have a good time 😎
Thank you so much for doing this video! I loved it!! I was there in 1978. Back then, they did not have ropes or wooden walkways. We were free to walk in the small areas. I remember setting my 6 month old son on the kings chair and taking a picture of him. And I also remember standing next to the red poles on that famous building, looking at the artwork. So beautiful. I love this place and hope I can visit again. I live in the United States. Crete is beautiful!! By chance, do you do video's of going down old road through Kokini Hani? I used to live at 57 old road. I hope I have the name of the road right. It is along the beach. Thank you so much for posting this video. It brought back sweet memories.
Bull's horns are the symbol. These were the people who revered bull jumping. The myth is that they took youth boys and girls of teenage years to perform in bull jumping. Read the books by Mary Renault THE KIND MUST DIE and THE BULL FROM THE SEA. They are about the mythical Theseus and his Cretan adventure that gives a wonderful picture of the bull jumping and Konos in ancient times. I am an art historian who loves the ancient history of Greece and other civilizations. I've studied art in Greece and ESL and lived on the mainland for a short time and have friends in Athens and where I lived in Petalidi 20 minutes from Kalamata. I have never been here but I've wanted to visit it and I hope to do so someday.

Hello Zameer (Samir), the red columns, the bull's horns, the square columns are made of cement as well as the corners of interior rooms, open and painted in the middle of ruins. All this was done in the last century by the man represented by the statue at the entrance, Arthur Evans. I'm still a fan of its architectural design.😁
And built the palace. Would love to know where the populace lived? Hmn I can't imagine walking here as I wrecked a good pair of shoes in Agrigento to visit the temples
Is it still possible to buy combined ticket to the museum in Heraklion and to Knossos? If yes I recommend to do this because it is not only cheaper, if you want visit both places, but it may help avoid queue in Knossos when ticket is bought in the museum.

Blue roofing is very rare in Crete, one week is a lot of time you can go to Loutro and also the old town of Rethymno is pretty interesting still has venetian textures.
Great vid zameer but you are spending far too much time on the north coast lately.. get yourself down the south east.. makrigialos, xerocambos, goudouras etc. etc. A wonderful part of crete you are not seeing.

You have to know that is illegal to filming in to the archeological sites.. you will pay a huge amount of money for your video if someone reveal it. Have it in your mind!!
