The US government should consider its compenation to its employees and compare it with the loss even if one of its employees betrays its secrets to a foreign government
Very good. I will find and listen to the podcast. From the point of view of organizational psychology, did the FBI ever fully analyze itself and find those aspects of it own structure that enabled Hansen to succeed for so long. In particular, did the structure set up by Hoover help to create an organization which belittled agents like Hansen who worked in areas like computer technology when the agency wanted to present a macho image and avoid a geek image. Other major failures of the FBI, like poor institutional knowledge of statistics which distorted fingerprint and ballistic analysis are isolated from the Hansen story. Maybe there is a deeper connection.
Just a note to say I loved this podcast, i listened to it alone and then with my husband on a road trip. I then dove into a rabbit hole and eventually ended up here! 😂
Sig hansson commercial boat fisher on the Deadliest catch. That's this guy's life spy. There is a lot of this kind of problem in this area in the industrial city similar to Roberts .
I as many likes spies histories . And everybody for a reason as curiosity to write a screenplay. The format of RUclips or many channels are more like a tv show. Who is not in person never can have a question if silly or relevant answered. Mercenaries are formers Govs ( plural) employees and they are civilians. Why we never heard a mercenary who commit crimes against common citizens, they get life in prison ?Only the employees. Why? How many groups or the powerful people have their own agendas? I bet with all of you , there are many Bob Hansen today. Employee or not. Would that not means intel agents lost control by now common citizens well trained with the money of the people ? It seams a very dumb bell question, but remember Bob Hansen that played all.
A long form discussion of 3+ hours with these folks would be awesome, thank you for posting.

Excellent so far 37 minutes in. The psychology part seems to be spot on , had to stop and think a second. Enjoying these guys for sure though!
1:00:41 - That's the problem with FBI.
FBI dismissed Hanssen as a joke, therefore they didn't see him. They're still not reflecting!
