Our student Fanchen from the other side of the country gave us a call a week ago and told us about the “Rush E” drama that he was part of - this inspired us to take the challenge of arranging and performing the “humanly impossible” original Sheet Music Boss MIDI version for piano 4 hands/piano duet!
So, is this performance mediocre, Fanchen?

To the people saying this is cheating due to the fact that’s it’s two of them, first, it’s incredibly hard to coordinate together then play a piece by yourself, and they’re playing a closer version to the impossible version due to having 4 hands, as Fanchen had to adjust and create a modified version to suit two hands, so I would wager this was equally as difficult or even harder then the one Fanchen put out. especially near the end.

Fanchen didn't create the 2 handed version, SMB created it.

Because there’s not much to appreciate in that lmao. It’s a common misconception with non-musicians that coordinating in a duet or ensemble takes some kind of godly level of coordination and practice. Maintaining tempo is, by this level, an automatic and innate skill, and it’s very easy to stay in step.
@@minh-khanguyen7209 yeah I don’t play the piano but I am in show choir and I can confirm that it doesn’t take much skill to stay in time with everyone because you don’t worry about the others, you worry about yourself and so does everyone else and you don’t need to coordinate you just need to chill ow the tempo. However. To do something this chaotic is difficult to stay in sync with not because they need to coordinate but because the frickin arm movements and hand movements and everything like that makes staying on the fast tempo very difficult. These people are skilled! I know you never said they weren’t but I’m just gonna double down on that fact
@@nerdthatcantfit1079 duets on piano are still harder, coming from a piano player who has done 7 exams and multiple performances in front of crowds, it feels awkward enough having two players on one piano and if one of you messes up it just feels out of touch

We wrote it in a rush, maybe two days, and then practiced it for another two days for many hours before making the recording 😄😄
