I’m with Nikki the 3D stacking starts to mess you up haha! Dave had the most satisfying garden to me loved to see him squeak it out at the end. Wonderful episode as always!
Technically this game is very accurate! when you build your real garden, you definitely want to score the most points so you can brag to your neighbours your garden is the best one!
At 47:42 when Lincoln doesn't pop that single fish in the space below where he actually put the piece, I actually said 'Noooo!' irl as he missed out on connecting those two big groups of features and lost a bunch of points! 😅
I actually just wrote a similar comment, but deleted so I could come share the misery under yours. Placing there would have actually connected the bottom group as well to connect almost all his populated tiles together (all but 3 icons).
I can't tell you what hotel I'm stayin' in, but there are 2 trees involved. They said "Let's call this hotel 'Something Tree'". So they had a meeting, it was... It was quite short. "How 'bout 'Tree'?" "No." "'Double Tree'?" "Hell, yeah! Meeting adjourned!" -Mitch Hedberg
I don't know if has been mentioned but Tapestry allows a part of the building to hang outside of the squares available. They can sometimes be placed off of the city board too. 😄
The immediate exception to your question at the start about tiles hanging off the edge is Caverna. While its not innately something you can do, several effects let you hang things off the side and get rewarded for doing so.
Dave's comment right at the start about are there any tile laying games that allow you to not place them fully on the board - yes! a new one thats just finished on KS called Dollars to Donuts i believe has this - kind of looking forwards to seeing how it affects the game play.
This is a great game! it looks like a lot, but it's worth including all the 5 modules. This was a surprise for us as well :) I love the frog module even if I never win because of it.
This game is kind of like Kingdomino Plus...it has that confined space tile placement vibe, but it's dimensionally bigger with more scoring opportunities. A step-up from King/Queendomino.
Wow, Dave did well getting 1st or 2nd in most row bonuses, the highest connected bonus and 2nd highest grass space bonus...Lincoln dominated the highest value rows (top 3) and had a good base score to work with, did okay in connected bonus but got little in the grass bonus. Mount Rodney had the huge base score by building vertically, but he only got 1st in one row taking 2nd in two others, was 3rd in connected in last in grass bonuses. Nikki gave a way a few chances to score rows (was 2nd in two rows before the last round) so she didn't get any row bonuses at all, and her connected spaces were lowest, though she did dominate the grass points. BUT, this is a tile placement game, so my guess is, in two or three games, Nikki would be wiping the table in scoring!
The round to round majority scoring is interesting for row majority, going into the final round, Lincoln dominated the top row with 10, Rodney in 2nd with 5, with Nikki 4 and Dave 2 chasing; in Pagodas Lincoln was way out front with 9, the other three were sharing 2nd place with 4 each; I can't read the fish in the ponds from this far away; the top tree level leader was Rodney with 8, Dave in 2nd with 6, Nikki 4, Lincoln 3; the green trees Dave was dominating with 9, Lincoln in 2nd with 6, Nikki 3, Rodney 1; the bottom row was again Dave with 7, Nikki in 2nd with 5, Lincoln & Rodney tied with 3. Of course the 1st & 2nd place bonuses are counter balanced by Rodney's verticle strategy which had him way out front in first place in the active scoring...and Nikki was playing the long game with her grassland spacing strategy.
I'm so spoiled watching your realtime shows where I can call out wrong plays in the chat...now when I see a misplaced tile the urge to tell you "you can't place it there Lincoln" is overwhelming and yet totally wasted!! Argh!!
Love this show so much 😁 Love all the joking around and show references😅 Ty ty all of ya so much 😃

I'm with Nikki -- tile laying is great but 3D tile laying is definitely challenging.

Lincoln can't place that tile there! 17:05
You’re right! He cheated!!! That sneak!!! 😂
He cannot place it there. It''s his table, table rules😂He fixed it though, good for Linc.
18:16 he fixes it.

You know Lincoln drags Nikki to crazy swinger parties where all the ladies line up for Lincoln while Nikki sits back and watches
