I was an extra in the movie Spinal Tap directed by Rob Reiner. In the movie I am front row at the concert with a very bright yellow shirt I will admit the movie was very bad I got paid 300 dollars for 1 days work. I also watched Rob Reiner smoke a joint
@Shirtman Instyle I was invited to a barbecue in the Berkeley Hills. A lot of the musicians who were in the film hosted the get-together. It was a wrap party for the CD they released under the band's name, "Ulterior Motives." Dave, the keyboardist from England, gave me his folding Sony earphones for Walkmans. I'm not sure that they work, but I still have them.
I love the long opening of the older shows. They got ya in the mood with the theme song, introduced each character, showed you scenes/backgrounds. Now it's all cut and sped up to show more commercials.
I love how Superintendent Ross stepped right up to read and earn some school bucks to buy a piece of cake. Oh man I hope I can find season two after the next/last episode of season one on this playlist. xoxo, many thanks for sharing season one, I really enjoyed the show SO MUCH this week. more xoxo
I guess because I was about 12 when these were aired I didn't realize that the "kids" looked older than real high school teenagers. It's fun to recognize future stars on the episodes. Rob Reiner, the Meathead 😆!
This problem is still going on. I was a Reading Recovery Tutor and kids at this age need high interest content/low level books. This is also why Special Needs Student Assistance is so vital now.
Yeah I watched 10 episode earlier today we’re Liz was excited they were serving lamb shanks in the cafeteria. I really have to question where they were that they could afford to serve lamb? Like they teleported to the Middle East.
The teacher played one of the Baldwin sisters on "The Waltons." The actress that played the other Baldwin sister also appeared as a teacher at Walt Whitman high.
This is how it is in public schools still today what the answer to a age old story thanks 👍 for bringing it into the light to bring change in are school system today.
I really miss shows like this. I remember this show when I was 7 years old. It was a great teaching tool for life without sex and violence to get ratings! We need more shows like this today and into the future. 👍
But this show got great ratings! That's part of why they could be brave, because they were pulling in the audience so the executives left them alone. 🍿 📽️🍿
Wish I could find Season 2 somewhere. I think the series went quickly downhill after the first year, but it would be nice to see one more season. I have really enjoyed these …as a child of the 60’s. Thanks so much for posting!
I remember this episode well. It was dramatic when he flipped the coin on the kid's desk, and I remember the "Whitman dollars." That makes sense to a point, but in a few days, Pete has these troubled kids becoming Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. All over cake and doughnuts. Not too likely.
It was very difficult to use actors under 18, because the law limited their hours working and required real life tutors be on the set. Plus pushy parents could be a problem. So TV shows usually opted for actors in their 20s to play teens.
I’d send every one of those little (er uh big) bastards home in tears for acting like that in my class! My brother sent me this link and unfortunately these issues still exist today. Incentives for learning are a definite help though.
There's more red tape hiring real kids, so most TV shows and movies will try to hire adults whenever they can. I've never been an actress but I did some extra'ing in movies when I was a little girl and a woman, and wow it's different!
But that's the point, students who fall behind in academics and get old while their peers move beyond them and graduate. Absolutely there are students in high school right now who are older than they should be. The real thing is that it is very brave to hang in there and finish, rather than give up and quit. Beyond that, as a nation we must support our public schools so that they can produce the well rounded citizens we need to preserve our democracy and understand what/who they are voting for. 🗽
The newer version is coming in the fall of 2023. It's called Room 666. A distant cousin of Mr. Dixon (a transvestite) is hired to teach the new CRT class. Miss / Mr. Dixon drives in Lloyd's car to the original theme music, smiling. As Miss / Mr. Dixon parks his / her / its car, the repo team mentions that its time to repossess the car. REPO person "Mr. Dixon, we need to repossess your vehicle". Mr./Miss Dixon - "That's Miss Dixon. You better learn your pronouns".
Rob Reiner. Unbelievable! WOW... A few years later he went on to All In The Family.
Only one year later. All in the Family debuted in January 1971. This episode aired on March 11, 1970.

I think Rob Reiner worked with The Smothers Brothers right before this?
😂 Rob Reiner plays a 30 year old high school student😂
I like this show

You are right, word for word.
i wish room 222 was on tv
They had Michael Constantine wear some god awful wigs
Hey Principal, how in the world do you think you get recompensed?? Money!!! Goober
50 cents back in 71 was a lot back then. I could buy a bag of chip and have change.

Wow! Look at Eric Laneuville! Never saw him this young in a role. Cool!
Micheal's saving up so he can buy the latest Beatles album.
Who knew hank anzaria was a former high school principal?

I was in LOVE with Helen on this show.
You weren't the only one. Same here.
Was Helen in this episode?
Michael recommended Apple stock. I wonder how that worked out...
A Full Tray of Food for $1.00 , try that Today.

Wonder how much of “the recipe” she had in her desk drawer ;)
Great episode, classic TV - thanks for sharing
I miss those days when all high school students were in their mid to late twenties. :)
This is how it is in public schools still today what the answer to a age old story thanks 👍 for bringing it into the light to bring change in are school system today.
So, this is where Meathead got his education.
The bull terrier from BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP?
Beautiful episode.

08:07 - A half dollar.
This was released in 1970, so that Kennedy was at least 40% silver.
Nice!
Nowadays even pennies are mostly zinc because the copper is worth more than the penny.
What a good episode!!!!
it is a good episode
Loved this episode 😎🎂

Season 2 is n You Tube also! ruclips.net/video/ei94HOsv_00/видео.html
How many times did Meathead get left back ?
You mean HELD back?
4:19 Rob Reiner as Tony
Yeah. A balding 17 year old! LOL!
It's crazy to me how this principle is a complete dummy... That's the whole point of getting an education so you can make money.
Teaching money in high school - who would see the sense in that!?!
Ahh, the 60’s when money didn’t mean survival!
Peter Dixon c'mon people really...1969 Whitman sampler dd214 jeez that's what
It's tough to teach when you have meathead in your class!!
Subscribed and liked...

Rob Reiner!
Wow these are some old looking students, Michael is the only one who looks like he should be there.
No kidding. Richie, Jason, Bernie and Helen were in for the entire run of the show. I don't think they ever graduated.

meat head Michael Stivic Rob Reiner. Eric Laneuville , Luther on St. Elsewhere.
He looks like he's already 30 years old. Pretty odd casting choice.
@Nuclear Christian they probably were 30 years old
I remember about this time Rob Reiner appeared on The Partridge Family as the motorcycle riding, bad boy "Snake."

🤯 Meathead !
Those kids are giant
The “kids” look like they are 40

Mr. Seymour Kaufman who was played by Michael Constantine. He just died in August this year.
So what happened to the other teacher?

Best laugh of the year so far, thanks I needed that!
