    Hi NLK, today I got my new President Teddy II. I ordered it becuse of your video and I like the device very much, because its a mix of oldschool and latest technology.
    My President Teddy II came up with following figures written by factory in the "secret" menu PL: 57 // F2: C7 // AL: 35 // r1: 36 and S: 2.3 (latest version)
    Then I changed it in your recommend numbers in the video with PL: 5A // F2: FF // AL: 31 // r1: 36 and S 2.3
    ---> By testing with my Power-Meter the President Teddy II has nailed the allowed 4W on PL with "5A". Thats perfect and top of the shop!
    ---> The FM-Modulation was rated by some of my CB-friends as loud and clear with ""FF" on F2. Thats fine and loud enough.
    ---> The internal 4 Segment S-meter is difficult to adjust for optimum in the "secret" menu, so its probably better to let it on "36" which you and factory recommend as standard. Then it shows approx. all signals under/ or S5 by one segment, S7 by two segments, S9 three segments and 9+ with four segments. That seems to work halfways realisticly, but its not a real S-Meter!
    ---> My Software-Version is 2.3 which isnt to overwrite, of course not. Its the latest version which is fine!
    ---> I struggle a bit by checking out AL. Using "35" is louder than "31" but "31" is more clear. Thats what people say during my modulation-tests on AM. No clue which is the best number on AL.
    All in all, are these the optimized figures which let play the President Teddy II now optimatically? Is there anything which I can enhance? What do you think about my settings?

      Hi Mr BSD, your setting look good, i would stick with 35 on AL as each radio is different when manufactured so it would have been tuned in the factory and set to 35. Without the appropriate equipment to check its difficult to make changes to these AL setting. Its a nice radio the Teddy 2 I am sure you will enjoy it and its a better choice than the Truman. However, a full review of the Truman is coming next week so keep your eyes out for that. All the best

      @@NLKMediaGroup Ok, the Teddy II is the more modern cb-radio in comparsion to the Truman. The Teddy II is made by XiXiang in China who also build CB-radios for TEAM, Stabo, Anytone and some of the current Albrecht cb-radios.
      However, the little Truman is one of the last cb-radios (like big brother Harry III) which have been produced in Vietnam by Uniden till 2021. The design is older than 10 years, but has good filters like MuRata 455KHz. I like the little Truman because its very basic and very easy to use, has a great orange display with nice S-Meter and all the oldschool dials. Modulation on AM/ FM is good and reception very sensitive. Typical President!
      Negativ, I think, the manual squelch plops sometimes which is not so nice. Price/ value is superb tho. I payed 69€ for it some months ago. Im looking forward how you rate the little Truman.
      After checking again with a friend I stick with AL: 31, its the better modulation in the Teddy II on AM. Now I have overwritten all numbers like you have in the video and my unmodified postal Teddy II works brilliantly. Thanks again for all the tipps and tricks about the Teddy II.
      Vy 73, Gordon

    Thank you my friend from across the pond, I am attempting to tweak my President Taylor. It would be nice if I could push it up to 8 watts. I realize it is no where close to my Cobra 29 that is peaked out at 41 watts, but anything more then 4 watts is an improvement.

      Hi JayZ, thanks for commenting. I have been down with COVID so am a bit behind on responding but am back to normal now. I have various radios on the shelf to review, Taylor 4, Truman and Lincoln 2+ but just havent got around to them yet. I will be doing a video on the Taylor 4 soon so will see what it can do when modded. I dont think I have the service manual for it so will be lots of trial and error to see if there is a factory service menu. I havent even opened the box so will be interesting to see. The President Richard pushes some quite high numbers (40W FM and 50W AM) on the output front if your looking for high output in the President range. There is hope for the Taylor as it has a heat sink on the back so could do well. All the very best and thanks for watching.

    Also. A,B,C bands? After the mod part, Are they like sideband? Ssb?

    • @NLKMediaGroup
      @NLKMediaGroup  2 года назад

      Hi Casey, A, B and C band blocks are just a way for the radiio to cover a larger frequency range while still using the 40 channel interface. So, channel 1 in Block A would start at 26.965MHz and channel 1 in Block B would start at 27.415MHz. I think I put up a listing in the video of the band blocks and the associated frequencies. They could be different on non European models so watch out for that. This radio does not support SSB and if you require SSB then the Lincoln or McKinley are the only two in the President range currently available new in Europe that have SSB. If your not sure then look on the front of a radio for a Clarifier dial and if it has one then it supports SSB. All the best

    AM LP amplitude adjustment also needs special equipment for adjusting or should I just crank the numbers up to 90?

    • @NLKMediaGroup
      @NLKMediaGroup  2 года назад

      Just leave AM LP amplitude alone without test equipment. The PL setting is all you need and covers AM and FM. All the best and thanks for watching.

    You just cut the wire???????

    • @NLKMediaGroup
      @NLKMediaGroup  Год назад

      Hi Gareth, please refer to 20:52 in the video. Cut the wire and move the jumper over. As standard it's in position 1+2 and you need position 2+3 so just lift it up, move it over and re-seat. That is all that is required to set the radio to Export Mode. Please ensure you check your region on the legalities as mentioned in the video. All the best and thanks for watching
