www.nucleusinc.... Episiotomy is commonly performed during childbirth to prevent tearing of the perineum. This 3D medical animation depicts two types of episiotomy during labor and delivery, a surgical procedure during vaginal birth in which an incision is made in the perineum to widen the vaginal opening, in order to allow a baby to pass through and be born. A midline incision extends straight down from the vagina toward the anus. A mediolateral incision is made on an angle from the vagina in the direction of the anus.

Its normal, but its so worth it after all the hard work, you have this beautiful loving thing you created right in your arms, she looks exactly like you or your partner, and u feel like you love her immeidiatly...she is a beautiful bundle of joy, and you get to watch her grow up, take care of you, children are a blessing if you raise them right.
This is the nature, if every women have the mindset like 'i dont want pregnancy', then no one will be born.
I said that and now I’m pregnant
I just had a mediolateral episiotomy for my baby boy last week.. Yep, it's no joke! It hurts so bad. I'm in so much pain still, and can barely sit down. Saying that, as I look into my baby's eyes, it's worth every single bit of pain. He's my everything. 💙💙💙
Same here

I’m currently healing from this and honestly I’d do it again because now I have my beautiful baby boy 💕🐣 but yeah them pains ain’t no joke lol
Meranda Gonzalez I just gave birth 3 weeks ago. Wondering if I healed already lol but it was painful asf
Sometimes it can take more time to heal. Make sure it’s not infected.
Igot my second daughter 21 years ago with that, and i guarantee you in less than two weeks, its was all over... all i felt was some kind of stinging sensation.Annoying but bearable. I forgot everything when i got my beautiful baby. Good hygiene, healthy diet,a lot of rest helped a lot... and after that, got to exercise the pelvic floor muscles to avoid future problems... you know... the leaks n all that... I hot three ither children after her, and i have not envountered the slightest difficulty or had to undergo this procedure again. Take care of yourselves mommas and of your lil precious blessings. They worth the pain.

@@jaylajackson8550 Tbh i would say 2... but i had an epidural. So i fidnt feel anything during the procedure. NOT ONE THINGThat was weird but efficient. I hope that you are doing well at school to prepare your future, and keeping your mother by your side. She ll be your 1st help and support on that big day. I guarantee you that. Blessings.

Sounds super painful. Why does something that's natural have to be so painful. You'd think that our bodies would be designed to deliver a baby without tearing. You know because we were meant to birth them.
Agreed. The main reason I don’t want kids is because of all the pain that comes with it.

I gave birth to my baby boy on 12th april this year, and had a mediolateral episiotomy without anesthesia, I didn't feel anything, but the postpartum was a nightmare🥴 I couldn't sit down for about 2 months. Yes, I will do it all again for my baby 💙
How you didn't feel anything sis??😭
Maybe your body was in shock during the labor pain?
I wanna be a mother in the future, but this looks like nightmare
Why doctor after birth cut in vagina I'm so hurt so much 😡😡
I had this done as my son was very premature. I pushed him out up to his ears but unfortunately I relaxed and he slide back in so they had to cut me. the recovery was the most painful thing I had to go thru especially because I had an infection. Sex with hubby was like doing it for the first time again. But once it was healed its as if I never had it done. Women's bodies are amazing
*faint*
My dr actually said "oops" during mine. I wish I could have seen the look on my husbands face!
This is pretty much gential mutilation. It's not needed at all, a tear will heal better and if DRs got the woman of her back and upright she wouldn't tear (or tear badly). Informed consent is a crock because DRs just tell the woman the beneifits and not the cons of having this done and by the time you've given all the facts the womans pushed the baby out and didn't need it it done anyway.
You're duuuuuuumb
I can say this was SOOOOOO painful!! Childbirth naturally was bad enough on its on but the epesiotomy made sitting, urinating horrific for the first week or so after childbirth . hard to look back and see I had this with all 3 of my babies
I've heard about this from my mother before but I didn't know that this procedure is given a different name. She also told me that many times the local anesthesia is not done in some patients which is unbearably painful!
That's why I respect all the mothers. Mostly my mom. I love you Mama, I know what you've been through.
This video: *scares me*
Future me: *adoption!*
Yes I feel the same 😂😂🥺
i don’t want kids anymore
Nah, besides in my family we all have a nasty track record... Only cesareans because the women's hips and cervixes aren't wide enough...
So yes, adopting. Unless I get over my trauma.
Oh my god....the pain they go through...salute
This is much rarer now, check your hospital episiotomy rates with the country's average. They have found tearing heals faster and often leaves less of tear as episiotomy often continues to tear during labor. So you know.
Don't want your vagina cut? Then stand up and have a long proper delivery! Sounds more natural than a freaky procedure to save your doctor's time.
The vagina can be cut by itself
It's not the patient's choice you twit
I just had an episiotomy cut about nine hours. It hurts a bit after the anaesthesia wears off. I’m looking at my baby realising that it hurts, but I’m grateful she’s here
Is sex life enjoyable after the vaginal stiches?

I laughed so hard at this.. but at the same time I think I'm gonna do the same when I find out mine 😅😅 omg
... I came here after a video on epidurals. After this, I thoroughly traumatized.
If I decide to have kids in the future, I'm definitely adopting.
If anyone is watching this pregnant....do not get pictocin for inducing! It makes the pain even worse and you are more likely to haemorrhage afterwards. I did right after I pushed out the placenta. It's hell.

My mum want me to look at this stuff when im literally under 15 and she just somehow thinks that I need to know all of this stuff at this age "JUST IN CASE"
I had this done 11 years ago and shortly after extremely constipated due to gallstones 😭😭
It was worse than Labor😭😭
3am.. why am i even here? This is so damn painful 😭😭 dont even wanna imagine that
I had it..and it hurts.. specially during the sewing part..I been screaming crying whole time the stitches were made..it's more painfull than how I thought..my cut was very deep..doctors made sure baby come out very smoothly easily
Trust me it’s worst than it looks, my son came legs first and it took 2 HOURS! I’m not planning on getting pregnant ANYMORE!
I had an episiotomy done during my son's birth, 15 years ago and I can still recall the pain I felt afterwards. The worst part was when a f***ed up nurse asked me to breastfeed my son but I could barely move, let alone quickly turn sideways. Well, this bitch grabbed me by the top of my gown and aggressively pulled it turning me sideways! The pain I felt when she did that was so excruciating that I let out a scream, and all she said was "oh it can't be that painful!"
Ahhhhhhhhhh😭😭😭😭😭
painful during healin
Had an episiotomy when i had my baby recently. I handled the labor pain very well, even delivery was smooth but now I feel like the doctor cut my clit in half or something because I can’t pee! It’s way to sensitive. But everything else was no big deal. 1 baby btw.
Ooh 5yrs on and remembering the mediolateral healing time 🤦🏼♀️ thankfully we have great doctors/nurses and medicine in this day and age ❤️
Is sex life enjoyable after the vaginal stiches?
Overused and unnecessary much of the time...get her off her back!!!
Pregnancy in episiotomy conditions in j shape cut ?
It's really painful😌... But after seeing my baby I forgot all my pain...
when u are in all kinds of pain at that moment you will not care about this procedure at all... i had this and i didnt realise i had it
I don't remember receiving any injection to numb the skin.. the blade just went through and there was a burning sensation.
Please tell me this is not painful in a way that I can bear the pain! Waaaaaah!!!
Episiotomy is the reason I don't give birth in a hospital. I give birth at home instead. My body stretches and I have no tears. 😊 ❤
Did that hurt because I'm afraid too have a baby
Of course it hurts you idiot.
Now I had this done for all 3 of my children, however the last one they realised that my daughter was blue, so they did and emergency Episiotomy without anesthetic.
It's not often I swear, but that one I felt like as the scalpel cut through my skin and into my back passage by about 3 inches, I swore! The results of this episiotomy has caused lasting nerve damage that I have been told is not repairable.
Some things us women have to go through and the effects it has on us needs to be more documented. I always question would I have been better if I had torn instead of being cut.
If ever a woman is taking too long in the WC, or their habits take just a bit longer than normal, just remember you don't know what they have to do in there due to having and episiotomy.
I had this sleep apnea thing when I was a kid wich meant that sometimes I would breathe from 30sec to 3min and my parents where terrofoed but luckily I survive
@@sunnysunna9393 my 3rs child used to have issues breathing in the night too. I remeber waking up in the middle if the night when she was about 12 weeks old, something just did not seem right, I asked to her baby crib, and she had turned blue and stopped breathing. Thankfully just the lightly blowing to stimulate her senses jump started her again. But we had to go for paediatric CPR training after being at the hospital with her, thankfully she only had 3 episodes. And is live and well 20 years later. ❤❤
@@MeljayTurner101 that good to hear! I hope all the best toyou and youre Child! :)
I'm not sure how will you heel and pee at the same time won't it burn ಠ_ಠ and shitting won't hurt?
Well people are panicking here after watching the video...I was born at home..no nurse no doctors no incision just the other ladies of the family...my mother told me I got stuck for a long time bcoz I was a healthy baby with big head. Now imagine a lot of women has been giving birth to babies since time immemorial without any doctors and experts just by themselves at home. Females body is naturally strong to bear it all. And in older times women used to deliver 8 to 10 babies in their lifetime still doing household chores and doing Labour work too for a living. My grandmother has 6 kids including my father. Two elder kids died when they just born. She is 80 now living a normal life no major diseases/disorders. I hope she lives the rest as healthy as she is today. Women are born strong they just have to realise it.
For all people Why do women give birth is painful because of Eve's sin in the genesis God gave eve a painful feeling while giving birth.
An episiotomy does NOT take 3 weeks to heal!
This was me 9 months ago, so much pain AFTERWARDS. Luckily I had an epidural and didn't feel it actually being done but remember seeing the scissors and the sensation 🤮
I love my daughter now but those first few weeks not being able to recover properly took those joyful moments with my daughter away.
My mum had this with me. Honestly surprised she didnt put me up for adoption after that shit
Cutting vagina.........my nightmare is true and it happens to real people!!!!! OMG
I remember the doctors having to do this to me due to difficulties pushing my daughter out , when the anesthesia wears off the pain when you urinate or even sit down let alone walk was terrible!, 3 weeks to heal!!? Try over a month
yeah.... guys be happy your males you dont have to go through the crap we women have to go through time of the month birth you guys wouldnt last one day being a girl lol
Well worded. I will give you a tip of the hat, as I believe we have came to a consensus. It should be used sparingly. Probably done WAY too often. Interesting video though?
Thank you mom for letting me in the word :)
So painful I had this with both of my delivery and it was very painful not forgetting the stitching part

And some jerks people leave their mother in old age home of don't care after they get old

i almost fainted...
After I had mine done, the first thing the nurse said was "So are you gonna have another one?" 🤦🏾🤦🏾 7 years later and my kid is an only child
Our pain is a thrill for them. Thats why most of them do it.
Bruh im in medical school and learning about pregnancy made me realise it might not be something for me loooll
When you become a doctor, try to help mothers to give birth naturaly without episiotomy. You will be blessed to go to heaven. It is worth it. God bless you.
@@vishakamanuel2774 ofc but if the mother or baby’s life is in danger I dont think its wrong to perform a c section
@@MK-cf1rm Yes, if it is so it doesn't matter. But most of the cases doctors do that for their ease. That is so bad.
@@vishakamanuel2774 in my country they are very conservative with c sections or other procedures

As a medical officer, i have to really say its the best decision to perform an episioltomy, prolonging of labour or if their is an obstruction leads to even fetal demise due to hypoxia or even distress. Its ever the best desicion but the most painful.
After 3 weeks a thread comes out of vagania is it normal need worry

I’m scared now I thought having a baby wasn’t so bad but now I think I’m good 😅
When I gave birth to my first baby, the midwife doesn't cut my areas, instead, it was automatically cut when my baby came out. It really hurts because there's no anestesia used
Unfortunately I don't think you payed close attention the video's reasons why this procedure may be done. Reference 1:03. I'm no doctor but I have seen first hand how long it can take just to get the baby to crown. You claim they do this in prevention, and you're right. But what they are trying to prevent is pain on the mothers end for extended duration.
i cant believe my mom did this 4 times she had two boys my sister then my TWIN sister

Good grief!
I have to say that I personaly was one of those cases where I had to have an episiotomy. On top of them giving me the episiotomy I was one of those rare cases that tore all the way to my anus. i had to get so many stiches from my vaginal area to my anus. They were stiches that desolve and my recovery was so painful..hard to sit down or use the ladys room...it took along time for me to recover. it wasn't your average 3 to 6 weeks. my personal pregnancy experience was pretty ruff...
Naturalkita23 From the comments it seems that on average it takes much longer than they say for an episiotomy to heal. It may depend on the length of the tear, the angle of the tear, and the location of the tear.
This isn’t even recommended anymore and does more harm than good. So sad that this gets pushed on women via scare tactics.
Bexley Farnsworth there’s no harm in having episiotomy 🙄🙄
Aishat Wasiu actually there is. Increases risks of tearing, bleeding, difficult repair, more severe pain, higher risk of long term discomfort especially when it comes to sexual intercourse, higher risk of infections and the list goes on. Not worth it 🤷🏻♀️
Bullshit. You're wrong.
I had this procedure done on me 2days ago 4th November 2022. My son weighed 3.6kg. I can't sit on my butt. But it's all worth it because I have a healthy baby boy.
