Comecei a assistir futebol bem criança em 1976. Essa foi a melhor seleção que eu vi em todos os tempos. Não era apenas um time, eles eram mágicos. Com esse time dava orgulho de ser Brasileiro.
This was my very first World Cup finals that I watched. I was 12yrs old and me and all of my school friends fell in love with this Brazilian team, and I was heart broken when Italy knocked them out. The last time Brazil played the 'Brazilian way' was back in 1986. Since then I've fallen out with their obsession of wanting to play the European philosophy way. Even though they won it in 94' and 2002, those two winning teams are not remembered like the boys of 82'. That's how good they were and that's how much the whole world fell in love with that unforgettable team. Priceless childhood memories.
I agree with you 100 percent. But in my opinion, the last time they played the "Brazilian way" was at France 1998 under the legendary Mario Zagallo. The real reason they lost the final to France was because the players were more concerned about the health and well-being of Ronaldo and were not fully focused on that final. But take nothing away from the 1982, they were the team that made me fall in love with Brazilian football, the "Jogo Bonito" as we love to call it. It's a pity the present Brazilian crop of players prefer the European style. Until Brazil return to their football of old, they may never win another World Cup.

Surely the most magical and gifted footballing team ever. In my opinion, they were better all round than the 1970 side, more entertaining and superb to watch. Unfortunately, the very best don’t always win an important tournament, (Holland-1974, Hungary-1954). Zico lost ONLY ONE match in three World Cups, the game against Italy in 1982. He was a complete magician on the pitch, together with Socrates, Eder, Falcao, Cerezo and Junior. Their strength though was that they played for each other, and showed why it’s called the beautiful game.

Apesar de que eu teria levado o Zé Sérgio, no lugar do Serginho, seria um pião excelente na frente, pois o Zé Sérgio se adaptava bem na direita e na esquerda, e faria, principalmente, uma ótima função de pivô, aperfeiçoaria o carrossel brasileiro de 82. O Adílio no lugar do Cerezo seria uma opção bem harmoniosa pelo entrosamento com o Zico. Sócrates, Falcão, Oscar e Leandro mantiveram-se estáveis em todas as partidas. João Leite ou Leão, no gol, daria mais segurança. Nessa atmosfera de campeões, naquela época, Piquet e Senna eram "bola na rede" ! Luciano do Vale parecia um décimo segundo jogador na emoção, ao passo que Galvão Bueno parecia estar com o carro na pista, ladeando Piquet e Senna. E chocolates Garoto tinha gosto de Kopenhagen.

(das hipóteses). Talvez com um goleiro melhor (Leão ou Carlos no lugar do Waldir Peres), um quarto zagueiro com maior vigor físico como o Edinho (no lugar do Luizinho) e um médio volante clássico como o Batista ( no lugar do Serginho chulapa). Jogaria com um falso nove com Zico e Sócrates se revezando na função. Daí se o time estivesse em desvantagem, poderia entrar um atacante descansado no segundo tempo como o Serginho ou mesmo o Roberto Dinamite no lugar do Cerezo ou mesmo do Batista.

Ela foi uma seleção marcante em relação a parte ofensiva e encantamento!! Mas tinha alguns defeitos na sua defesa - mas acho com pequenos ajustes ela ganharia a copa. Ficamos no campo do se... (das hipóteses).
Talvez com um goleiro melhor (Leão ou Carlos no lugar do Waldir Peres), um quarto zagueiro com maior vigor físico como o Edinho (no lugar do Luizinho) e um médio volante clássico como o Batista ( no lugar do Serginho chulapa). Jogaria com um falso nove com Zico e Sócrates se revezando na função.
Daí se o time estivesse em desvantagem, poderia entrar um atacante descansado no segundo tempo como o Serginho ou mesmo o Roberto Dinamite no lugar do Cerezo ou mesmo do Batista.
