Very good improvement of a good project, you could put sand in the base tubes to lower the center of gavity. Also, level and square are two different things. Make sure your work surface is level both ways and then you can use the level tool for alignments.
One thing that would be helpful is to cut an opening for the charging port that way if you do not have an apple tv you could hard-wire to the projector as well as charge the ipad. Not sure if it's possible but would very helpful. Great job!
Just came across this video. I am very impressed with it. What a clever DYI project. Although I don't have use for something like this, It was interesting to watch and well put together! Kudos...
Why not turn the feet 180 degrees and thus the feet are completely behind and out of the way for even wider documents or magazines and books? Plus you could then clamp the feet to the table for stability.
+Robert Plate That's an alternative, too, although you'd have to somehow compensate for the weight imbalance once you add the iPad, otherwise it might tip over. I've seen some versions that went straight to "make the base just a clamp to affix to the table," too.
+MAES Miller How would it be less hassle to build the first one with a wider base? If you are going to do it at all, it makes sense to do it right. No?

Awesome modification! Thanks! I also added sand to the base of mine to really make sure it was sturdy. I can't wait to use it in 2 weeks!

Wonderfull and very much smart!
You do not note which length piece is which when assembling
Do you sell these stands? I'd love to inquire about buying one. Thank you!

Cooool
!
Why not just make the base wider to solve the issue of the leg being in the frame? Seems like a lot of hassle just to solve that one issue?
