Question, you mention that the mobile apps are free, however you cannot sync to device or watch clips and listen to music for more than 1 minute. I am just wondering if this was the case still when the video was made or not. (pretty sure I was already using my setup by then). Or is Android different than ios?
Plex pass is a no brainer!! They have a one time life-time fee, at a very reasonable price. After using plex free for a few months I knew I was going to continue using it and has been well worth it even if just for the mobile photo upload.

Now just to buy and build out my server. Sucks how much pre-owned servers have went up in the past year. Really wish I didn't throw away my R710.
For DIY/normal projects I think I will always prefer building something. But for mission-critical stuff, built-to-purpose will be the way to go for me.
Yeah, I plan to upgrade my Dell OP 755 to a Q6600 so it can render out faster than the C2D that it has currently. Unfortunately due to the fact that dell is an idiot and made a custom board for that case, I can't put in any GPU into it without serious modifications.
Unfortunately I use Windows as the SMB shares are universal and it's easy to navigate. The box doesn't slow down and I have everything for the Server deferred (rendering, down-scaling, etc) until the maintenance time around 4am my time.
I don't have a big library of movies or tv
I more just watch RUclips but it's still a cool idea

why is my film collection works fine with plex as an app on my smart tv but any films with VC1 codec will always buffer on PS4? is this a ploy for me to buy plex?
Great video, cloud storage, offline mode and broadcasting TV seems like great features. However, I'm good with the free version. Running the server is free, and Plex app on PS4 is free and it's doesn't require Playstation plus. I got one time purchase of Plex app on my Nexus 5X (Android) and on my ipad (iOS). One time purchase is not for each device, but rather for each account. Obviously I got a Google account on my Android and Apple ID on my iPad. The app also costs like $3. Watching your content away from your server network also works. Either on data or on another wifi. You don't have to be connected to the same network as the sever. Everything is flawless and there's also an unofficial Plex app for Kodi for the Kodi users out there. It will also update your "watched time".
Cloud storage, offline mode, broadcasting TV does seem nice, but not sure if it's $40 a year nice.
I have a question if I pay the Plex pass do I still need to buy the activation feed for devices I used.
Total bummer that the trial is over!!
If I subscribe to Plex pass. Can I automatically change my music library to have the new features instead of just being a basic music library

Hey, nice video. I know it's from a year ago, but I'm hoping you can answer a question. I looked on that Free vs Premium chart and I don't see anything about the plugins... you know, the "channels" you can add that give you the latest 4-6 episodes of various network shows. I wanted to know if you need a Plex pass for the plugins. Thanks for the help.
Plugins are actually being phased out/removed, so they might have already removed them from the chart
@@EposVox I currently have plug-ins with the 5 major networks and a few others. I'm just wondering if I cancel my pass if I'll keep the plug-ins I currently have. Thoughts?

Great Video! I’d actually been contemplating getting the Plex pass but as of approximately 1month ago I’ve been a bit reserved about it.
I’ve never had ANY issues with Plex. I had a family vacation and recorded many videos with my iPhone 8plus. I have the My cloud Home App on my iPhone to which ALL my home videos back up to automatically. So I was looking forward to watching all my vacation home videos.
I started getting this error “not enough cpu for conversion of this item”. I’ve done research and I’ve tried everything. My content is not playin remotely. I have increased the number of simultaneous video conversions, converting the videos, etc. I have little to no knowledge on cores and ram etc. I just figured if WD My cloud promotes Plex and I’ve been able to play files as big as 5gb with no problem...why am I getting issues with my iPhone recorded home videos? (I have two years worth of other home video recorded with the same phone with no issues playing). I’d greatly appreciate your help or any other lifesaver that may read my comment. Great channel and keep it up!

Nobody has really done any new videos on plex. I think this is due to the takedown of plugins they are slowly getting rid of. So its basically just going to be usable for your media you store on your pc.
I've been making them every month! I've only ever used Plex for media I already own - especially once Smart TVs and etc took off with streaming services built in so I never really used Plugins, but I know the loss has been a big deal for many
