"If you are going to do something for the poor, the abused, or the imprisoned, above all be faithful. People with broken lives often come from lives with broken promises." Sister Helen Prejean.
Devin I live in Canada & here now we have the right, if we are of sound mind, to make the decision to die!! I had two good men I my life who because of the circumstances in their lives made the decision to end their lives. One was in the end stages of cancer & suffering excruciatingly. He could no longer be helped. The second had had a stroke years before & his body continued to deteriorate as the years passed. Unable to deal with it any longer he too made the decision to leave life behind. Both died in their homes in their own beds with dignity & most importantly with family at their sides. I don’t know if they had spiritual help before death. I do know that both were not involved in any religion. Their families relayed to be that they both died quietly & with great peace. A few years ago I was being treated for A Fib & was given the wrong medication. As a result I died & was gone awhile as they had trouble getting me back. My experience was that I ceased to exist. It was soooo ok. The peace I have had in my life since that time is indescribable. As a fellow Atheist or Humanist I just felt the need to share this with you. THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO🙏🙏❤️❤️. I have just joined your channel so will continue to follow you. !!
As soon as I read the NYT article, I googled Devin Moss. I had to know more about this story. I'm a widow who is trying to make sense of religion and god and spirituality and stories like this just make sense; they sit right in my heart. Looking forward to where this inspiration takes me. Also, end the death penalty.
If you prefer to only deal with facts, how can you assist in the "spiritual care" of another? There are no facts showing humans even have a spirit. I respectfully ask this as a Christian.

A true atheist wouldn't need a "spiritual advisor" at the end of his or her life. But this seems to prove that they always do need it.

It takes more faith to believe what you do not believe than it does what I know! One day when you stand before God you will see phil again
This man would not be of help to me.

This is quite pointless. Actually, it isn’t helpful, perhaps, to believe in God
