As an Idaho resident, we view this as nothing short of a tragedy. The FBI "flags" were wrong. This was an innocent family. The son was instructed to defend the property, defend the family, and as you see by what happened, it was very good advice. The bad guys were given REWARDS/MEDALS. All the money in the world can't bring back your murdered son and wife.
The Marshals initiated the gun fight by killing the Weaver’s Golden Retriever. Sammy Weaver shot at the man that killed his dog, Sammy was shot at and later took a round in the back as family friend, Kevin Harris returned fire and killed a US Marshal.
And a jury of Randy Weaver's peers refused to convict for the killing of US Marshal William F. Degan. And the Marshal's team lied about firing until confronted with one of their weapons seized as evidence that was dirty with gunpowder after expending roughly half a 30 round magazine.
"Innocent woman, child and dog murdered in cold blood, check. Lawsuit against us proving incompetence and malice, check. Looks like a mission success, boys." -FBI

and of course, it should be a call to defund the consumer firearm industry. fundamental rights, and the constitution, do not matter when it concerns the government, no matter how arbitrary the context is. but this truth will not be made clear. innocent people are turned into criminals and their rights are stripped over nothing. when weapons are involved people are liable to devolve into animals. and yet, weapons are marketed as protection and defence. it is clear no one can protect or defend against such forces. its utterly shameful
My brother quit the FBI after 15 years of service. He told me everyone was corrupt. he couldn't go along with all the illegal things the FBI wanted him to do to get convictions. When he said everyone. he meant everyone too. he told stories about the smallest of things that these agents would do that would turn the case around and get a conviction

The sniper was actually aiming at Kevin Harris in the house later and shot him but the bullet went through and killed Weaver’s wife Vicki.
A friend of mine who I worked with was a retired Texas State Trooper Lieutenant, in special operations. He was there at Waco. He said it sickened him, and he lost faith in the federal government. He'd already talked with David Koresh and almost had him talked into giving up his guns when the federal government rushed in like the fools that they are.
@@ProtomanButCallMeBlues two of them were there. I was first told this story by an Army Ranger in 1998 who had high ranking friends.I don’t why but he pulled me aside and felt compelled to tell me. I later researched it and sure enough , I found out , that it was true. Call me religious but one has been judged by the Lord because he overreached his authority. He’s now on a watchlist by the feds. No need to spit.
All of this was over missed court date that they rescheduled last minute and randy was supposedly not informed about. The son was with his dog. The FBI shot his dog and that’s when the exchange of fire happened and his son was killed… because random people on private property killed the family dog. FBI claims they identified themselves and his son fired first and that’s what started it but the fbi reports are all conflicting and don’t make sense. From there they gave shoot to kill orders and “highly trained” FBI snipers fired on the cabin occupied by his wife and daughter, killing his wife who was holding his 10 month old baby. Kevin was acquitted of all charges and won a civil suit against the government. Randy was also acquitted of all charged except the original missing his court date and also filed a civil suite and accepted an out of court deal. Don’t forget Waco happened within a year of ruby ridge and some of the agents on scene are some of the same same involved with ruby ridge. Even though many of the evidence shows they did, even if the FBI didn’t start the fire doesn’t matter. After the fire was out and everyone was dead they took pictures posing with dead burnt bodies of woman and children, 83 people died, 23 of them kids. The FBI immediately tampered with and destructed much of what was left of the crime scene. FBI’s official story is no shots were fired at the compound yet the agent who killed Randy’s wife at ruby ridge was also at waco and was firing on people who were fleeing the fire. His rifle was immediately re-barreled after waco and conveniently none of his shots could be traced. Much of the evidence was redacted or out right missing including phone records and all the independent autopsy footage and recordings had been confiscated by the FBI and them immediately lost. Many of the agents on scene in Waco were promoted and given awards. FUCK THE FEDS, NEVER COMPLY.
They didn't even have the "unregistered machine guns" thatthe the raid was supposedly about in Waco. They had an ffl and made money selling guns at gun shows. Koresh was known to go to town on a regular schedule, they could have picked him up at one of those times.
I live 30 minutes from where ruby ridge happened. Randy weaver was a great guy who would have breakfast with the sheriff of Naples and boundary county. A great man and a great father. One of the purest examples of government overreach.
Man was a racist and had Christian radical views ; he stocked piled guns cause he was insane and thought we was going to war with the Soviet Union and also threatened the governor of Idaho and the president Soooo what are you talking about? Great man my ass
Let's not get too crazy here. He was a massive racist and anti-Semite, with some other rather kooky ideas. For example, he had his wife sleep in a shed near the house when she was menstruating. All his craziness got him was a dead wife and a dead son. No, I am not defending the actions of the FBI, although I don't believe they were malicious, but horrendously incompetent. The actions of the Feds there were insane. But that doesn't mean Randy Weaver was a saint either.
His son lost his arm in that conflict. They returned fire with an mp5. Then they shot Randy's wife while carrying their baby. To demoralize the surviving family, they ran a tank over their dead dog.
My father served in the FBI honorably as a 25 year Special Agent in the Rocky Mountains, and retired in 2011, and was involved in this case in the aftermath. I was only 12, but I remember how difficult it was for him during Ruby Ridge. As a devout believer in the Second Amendment and civil liberties, he felt truly awful about the FBI, and was horrified by its performance here, and at Waco. But, he never aired his anger and frustration publically. Today, the most I will get out of him about Ruby Ridge was that it was wrong of US government, ANY branch, Marshalls, ATF, to entrap Mr. Weaver, (whom I've had the pleasure to meet, spoken with, and feel truly awful and horrified for, as a father and husband myself), into a weapons charge. Short-barreled weapons have no business being registered anyway and are certainly not a crime worthy of that level of manpower and firepower, and they are absolutely not worth a mandatory five years in jail, which he was facing. My father also added that, "Mr. Weaver wanted to live off the grid, and generally, if someone does that, that means we should leave them alone. That's where you want people to go if they are 'extremists' (which Mr. Weaver was not, but he was labeled as such). While the FBI today is corrupt, disgusting, and probably needs disbanded (in my opinion), I would like to ask those of you familiar with this story who just "hate the FBI" to please consider the brave men like my father who tried to do the right thing every single day he worked, and worked hard for fairness and equality under the law. Not all the agents are bad men, and sometimes good agents just make mistakes, it happens. My father has nightmares the times I get home to see him, because he saw all the evil things of this world that none of you will ever imagine. As he said to me once, "Once you see the evidence of what disgusting things predators do to children, you never look at humanity the same way again."
"Brave men" that stood by and let jack booted government thugs get away with cold blooded murder if he was as disgusted as you say he would have made an example out of Horiuchi
Don't compare Ruby Ridge to Waco. Waco those people were cultists and criminals. It wasn't handled correctly but those people were pedophiles as well so a lot of them deserved it.
Your father stood by and did nothing but allow corrupt people in the FBI ti do terrible things. Whistle blowing is an option and he chose silence. He is corrupt too, unfortunately. But, we love our fathers with their stupidity and imperfections. I understand. He has to live with that every day.
Every federal officer involved in this case should have lost their citizenship and had every asset seized and severed 25 years in prison. The one that killed his kid should have faced a death penalty trial.
Even this undersells how truly fucked the situation was. There’s still charges against the sniper that killed his wife, I’d love to see someone bring him up on them.
The fbi/marshals gave him a new identity. His name was Lon Horiuchi, no idea what fake name he uses today. But since he murdered innocent people for the fbi the gave him awards. Sick

Ruby Ridge and the Waco siege were events that occurred while I was in college, going through a Criminal Justice degree. This is what Weaver's "gun issue" was. Because his shop had customers that were known to be linked to white supremacists, the Feds wanted him to get cozy with them and become their informant. He refused. Then some undercover agents tried to get him to illegally cut down the barrel of a shotgun to below legal length. He refused but cut it down to just above the legal length, the minimum he would be allowed by the regulations at the time. They apparently decided to measure the barrel differently and charged him for it anyway. Those charges were later dismissed but not before they offered to drop them if he'd agree to be an informant like they asked originally. This "success" the Feds are so proud of was no more than official harassment that turned into government-sanctioned murder. I've been a cop for 27 years. While there are decent people that I have met, working in the FBI, BATFE, US Marshall's, etc. overall the agencies run operations like a bunch of politically motivated actions solely meant to get noticed and promoted. I don't trust the Feds any farther than I could pick up the Capital building and throw it.
@@daveatwoodsr2044 The Branch Davidians were cracker-box, that's true. However, there was a peaceful way to serve the warrant. Multiple warrants had been served on the property previously. The difference was the Clinton administration and the Janet Reno Justice Dept wanted a show. Just because the Davidians were a doofy cult, doesn't mean that what happened can be dismissed. Both events were promoted by the same agencies for the same reasons and with the same callous disregard.
Most state police and feds can go fuck themselves they don't live in the areas they police, local police live in the areas they police and know at least some of the people who live there. I don't know maybe the way to solve the problem with over reaching feds is to split them up between local law enforcement and force them to report to elected local elected law enforcement there is such a problem with feds being above the law.
Thank you for explaining the reason for the whole show: investigating the church group that taught separation of certain groups from other groups based on ethnicity. The federal government didn't like people thinking that, so a way to criminalize thought different from what some people in the federal government believed, or rather manufacturing a crime to be pinned on that group in order to punish it. Weaver was not part of those opposing sides. He was a pawn.
@daveatwoodsr2044 why not? You think they're bad people that deserved to be suffocated and burned to death for disagreeing with you? Quit the bull crap
The FBI sniper who killed Mrs Weaver was Lon Horiuchi, who was also involved in the Waco siege. Both these incidents angered Timothy McVeigh to blow up the Federal Building in OKC.
There's a great documentary on Timothy McVeigh on a different platform. If I mentioned that platform the comment will be deleted. Timothy McVeigh was still working for the government. The FBI offices contained all the information on the Clinton's and their illegal doings in Arkansas. The bomb squad was at the building before McVay even showed up.
His "gun issue" is that an FBI/ATF agent spent 6 months talking him into sawing off a shotgun barrel for him 1" too short. He refused for 6 months then finally relented. Tell me that isn't entrapment.
They killed his wife and then spent the next few days telling her to bring her kids out to safety over the loud speakers. The people that killed her. Telling Vicky to bring her kids out to safety. While her remaining family listened to this in the house with her and one of her sons dead body’s.

Anyway, he showed up on his own and said, let me talk to the guy, so he walked up, said I'm here and Randy was incredulous. Now mind you, his son is dead on the freezer chest out in the garage, his wife is laid out on the kitchen table. If they stuck their heads out they got shot at, his wife was dead and they were yelling over the loud speaker, "Cindy come out" he thought it was a mockery. This is definitely the SHORT explanation of this event. If people don't know, watch the documentary about Ruby Ridge. Incredibly sad and way over the line of power
Them thinking it was a success makes perfect sense. Governments are there for two reasons: one is to let you know who's boss and the other is to make business for itself to justify its existence.
"What makes the government so powerful? The government is the only entity legally allowed to commit violence." Think about that. It's where all their power lies. Violence and kidnapping.

Lmfao. Lol. OOLOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Ok so i have family that lived in regions where even government didn't have control. They just didn't want to put out the money/resources to govern 500 people spread out in a very tough area of the jungle/mountains. Lol. So do you know how bad..bad is? Even before the vietnam war broke out. You had criminals that knew the law couldn't reach them would rape and kill women and men. Which means nothing to you. IN your mind rape and dead women and men is common. Well, when you have dudes raping little girls like 5 years old it's different. Who stops that? The neighbors? No, they killed the neighbors and the men. That's why they were able to do what they were doing. At that point even the locals welcomed communist police to come in and help. Which is something my family does not welcome. Communism. They deal with it but anyways the government is the lesser evil. At least the government will pay you and admit they were wrong after their cop rapes and kills your daughter. Where as if there is no government....putin or cartels can be your government and do what they want. IN this world it's either governments or powerful evil people who uses fear to rule YOU. We've seen it in history. Without a government people will become savages and even with a government....the government will be savage FOR you. LOL. The US government is the best thing that has happened on this planet. Outside of a few other great civilization. Even UK during its major rule was so evil it made american slavery seem like wedding. In country without government in power. You just see criminals dominate. Cause let me ask you James Seeker. Are you willing to go out and risk your life right now and leave your family forever just to protect your neighbor who will end up raping your wife anyways? No? Then you and your wife = gone. You shouldn't have lasted that long anyways. Government is everything. Either you have a government, a gang leader, a physical god, or something to tell everyone to ACT the same and follow the same set of rules. That's why religion = government in the past. That's why RICH people = government in the past. BLOODlines = government. We've seen it ALL. You NEED a boss. We've had 10000's of years of humans roaming around and the only way to move human kind on and give your family a decent chance is to follow the safest route. Which is the government as of right now. Do you understand how much blood would be spilled daily without governments? Do you understand how bad society is without government/religion? Hell, you'd be dead and your wife and daughter would be raped and used by dozens of men by now. There is no security without a boss. There is no security without similar minds coming together. When you have minds come together you end up organizing law and regulations and rules and government to MOVE on after you die. So while you sit there and talk crap about government because YOU think you know everything about the world and you think you know it all. THINK about what you know and THEN post. You ignorant fool lol. You want that hippie life in the mountain type stuff where you rely on god as health care or something bs. How do you even think science and progress is even a thing? Cause government allows humans to do this without worry. My god. IF government allows businesss and business allows jobs and allows production and even allows you to EAT without growing your own food. Then how the hell do you think society would work without government you fool. Governments are there for two reasons: one is to let you know who's boss and the other is to make business for itself to justify its existence. That is what you said but i can say the something similar about humans. Humans were there for two reasons. TO eat and reproduce. So yeah lets just ignore everything else about humans why don't we? Fool.
Similar thing happened in the UK , on a much smaller scale There was a robbery at Brinks-mat , millions of pound of gold was stolen, a guy named Kenneth Noy was thought to be handling the gold , so the police in their wisdom put people all camouflaged up into his garden to watch and listen, the dog comes out and finds them, Noy ends up stabbing and killing one of them and is let off for self defence. What on earth makes them believe hostile reconassience in someone's property is a good idea , it can only end badly.
This was a tragedy. No awards should have been given. Mike is absolutely right in his analysis of this incident and Waco. The FBI totally approached wrong.
There’s actually no proof he even did the work. He knew the guy was an undercover and told him he couldn’t shorten it for him. Atf agent didn’t want to waste 2 years of work so he lied to get them to siege the place
Jesus Mike I thought you would have researched this better. The FBI and ATF were going after the Aryan Nation (Randy had a friend that was a member he showed up to one meeting and decided it wasn't for him) a paid informant for the ATF harrased randy for months to sell him sawed off shotguns Randy did it just to get the guy to leave him alone when he showed up with the guns they weren't short enough so the paid informant pointed where he wanted the barrels cut (that's entrapment and was eventually ruled as such by the courts) later Randy gets arrested he gets put in a situation where he feals he has nothing to loose if he mortgages his property to pay a lawyer he'll lose his land and possibly the case then the government sent him the wrong court date. He was up on his mountain when USMS SOG were crawling around in Ghillie Suits (with orders to not engage the weavers) when Sammy Weaver and his Dog were out hunting the Marshall's shot the dog without Identifying themselves so Sammy and family friend Kevin Harris both shot back Sammy weaver had his arm shot off then was shot in the back running away. Then during the Standoff the FBI gave illegal rules of engagement to their snipers to shoot the weavers on sight they ended up shooting Vickie Weaver in the face while she was holding her baby by Lon Horiuchi who would go on to kill people at WACO and change the barrel of his rifle right after to avoid prosecution. Kevin Harris shooting the marshall was ruled to be self defense the gun charge was ruled to be entrapment and Randy was awarded a 3.1 million dollar settlement.
That's what I understood was the case as well. Was not able to find refuting side of story though. And I like to weigh both sides. Horrible if whole truth.
I was about to post the same thing. There's more detail to this than what Mike was presenting. The courts/law enforcement did believe that Weaver was breaking the law by not showing up to court at the time, but they didn't know that he had been sent the wrong date of the trial. Essentially law enforcement wanted to get the Aryan Nation at all costs and thought Weaver was a part of the Aryan Nation and entrapped him in order to get him to become an informant. When Weaver resisted, they treated him like a modern day Rambo. Then when he didn't show up for court unwittingly being sent the wrong date, they thought Weaver was about to unleash this wrath against them because he was a former Green Beret instead of just doing their job and arresting him. It was a series of blunders and unlawful conduct by the FBI and ATF that has horrific outcomes and left Weaver with a dead wife and son
Damn not to be that guy but kinda sad George Floyds family got 250million because he OD’d… either way money isn’t replacing the kind of situation and pain. In fact I’d probably just use the money to do something bad in that kind of situation. How the hell does someone live after witnessing that? In my opinion that has to be worse than some of the sht guys saw in iraq and Afghanistan. Ok maybe that is a little dramatic, But if it were your wife and kids, I feel like that is going to give someone the worse kind of PTSD you can imagine.
First they shot the kids dog, and the kid thought he was under attack, fired back, then ran away and was shot in the back. The whole thing started with a failure to appear in court.
Failure to appear over some bullshit entrapment charges. They hounded the hell out of him for months to saw some barrels off some shotguns. After he had repeatedly told them no. The whole thing was BS and unsurprisingly the incompetent US government had US citizens blood on their hands.
Agree with Mike Glover that the Ruby Ridge incident was a tragedy and that the FBI didn't even get a slap on the wrist for it just like the Waco, TX incident. The ATF and FBI afterwards sent 100 armed agents to the Branch Davidian compound to enforce a $200 tax fine on a 1/2 inch gun barrel resulting in the deaths of over 80 civilians including women & children. They lied to the Texas National Guard indicating it was a drug raid to acquire their helicopter gunships, unloaded 7000 armor piercing rounds into a 50 year old wooden structure filled with women & children, held the Fire Departments back for 30 minutes while knowing fire mixed with CS Gas canisters becomes lethal to humans so there would be less witnesses to testify against the Federal Government. Like Ruby Ridge, the agents in Waco didn't even get a slap on the wrist.
The fact that nobody has gone after Lon shows that people are reserved from violence. If any of the "right wing " guys were as bad as they say then Lon would be long dead. We still try to believe in the system to do the right thing but at the same time knowing it won't. I'm starting to think we will never take any action therefore we slowly lose everything.
@mikemiller551 We would like to think that but again looking at where we are at and nobody has taken action shows that none of us feel like we have nothing to lose.

Ruby Ridge taught me the government is very powerful and will eat you the second you disobey. The beltway snipers and the Unabomber taught me they’re not invincible.
My guy you’re wrong on how that started - ATF was pushing him into sawing off a shot gun via undercover agents. They tried to claim he was a white supremacist. The arrest him for sawing off a shotgun and issue a court date. He refuses to show up for the court date and the US Marshals are called to go get him. They’re the ones who start shooting. The sons dog barks at the marshals and they shoot the dog so the son shoots at them and that kicks it off! The FBI comes into this late in the game. This is another fucked up ATF mission that got a family killed. Randy, his friend, both wounded both bleeding out - his wife, and son and dog are dead.
Such an empty gesture, they destroyed the mans life a million does not seem enough, feels like they should be groveling at his feet for the crap they pulled on him
A few edits: Randy was not a Green Beret and it wasn’t his former commander who talked him down, it was just someone else who served in nam and was well known nationally. Finally, the men who shot his son weren’t FBI they were US Marshals.
I would also like the add the reason the Marshalls were there was because he sold two guns Illegally to the public. If you’re living off the grid selling guns illegally…. Any responsible government would be concerned.
The debacle at Ruby Ridge was the reason for Waco. The ATF was just about to have their budget cut enough to basically shut them down, so they needed a big PR case to prove to the country why they were so necessary….hence the reason for calling the Branch Dravidian’s a “cult”, Mt Carmel a “compound” etc. And for anyone who wasn’t aware, the Posse Commitatus statute was also violated when the FBI/ATF brought in Delta Force….I mean “Combat Applications Group”
The Branch Davidians were a cult, but belonging to a cult is not a crime. Neither is owning guns. When the FBI sent agents into Waco to scout ahead, they went to a diner and asked the waitress if she knew David Koresh. She pointed out the window and said "Sure, he's right there". He was out jogging. If the wanted to arrest him they could have just walked outside and done it. Instead, they showed up at his house with an army and then blamed him for starting a war.

This event that took place on that mountain shows how incompetent the ATF and the FBI are. Its very unfortunate and incomprehensible that this man and his family had to suffer because of it.
More correctly it shows how thoughtless, corrupt, and cruel the US government actually is to it's own people. They're a giant hammer looking for nails and we all look like nails to them. Nobody there ever lost any sleep about pounding area nails they shouldn't have.
What can anyone expect from low IQ millennials raised on soy milk and call of duty video games. They are idiots running around killing people for their NGO and government handlers. Not a difficult job. But one they will be measured for at the ends of their shitty lives.
The Feds wanted Randy Weaver to befriend and inform on some locals they were gunning for. He refused. They really didn't like this, so in order to get back at him, they sent in some undercovers to entrap him. He refused to shorten a shotgun barrel three or four times. Then he finally caved in and shortened it just barely within the legal limit. The feds decided to measure it via a different method by which it was 1/8" shorter than the limit. They charged him with a felony and offered to drop it in exchange for him informing on the locals. He refused again, so they gave him a court date. But they gave him an incorrect court date (on purpose). So now he's a double felon. That's when they sent in the snipers that murdered his dog, son and wife. There's more to the story, like when the feds were surveiling him and they pretended to be broken down motorists on the side of the road. Randy stopped to help them. He's a good man. Disgust doesn't even begin to describe the feds.
This mindset is the exact reason the doj is... promoting a diverse new structure that provides more opportunities for women and people... less able to thrive in the private market. And the argument that this, combined with certain political stances the brass has taken, would lead to an environment in which people would accept potentially unconstitutional orders without question or react emotionally when enforcing any potential mandates to... keep us safe, are completely logi - I mean unfounded.
He got this story partially correct. Also, the man that ended up getting him to surrender is Bo Gritz, the inspiration for Rambo. Like me, Bo & the family at Ruby Ridge trusted, or trusts, the government. He was not his "ex-commander".
He was not a green beret and it wasn't actually Ruby Ridge.....it was neighbouring Carabou ridge but media loved the Ruby/Red/Blood theme they could go with and did.
Love the fact that I wasn't the only one saying this. It doesn't take away from the tragedy that was, but get the facts right before you spew 'knowledge' to the people.
Most founders supported ratification. Meaning they supported centralized power (like the power we see from these corrupt alphabet agencies) or the opposite of what our country was originally founded on. They gave us the constitution to hang out hat on but clearly it wasn't that effective considering a few years after the constitution was drawn up you get the sedition act of 1798 (promoted by the same who supported ratification) which showed that freedom of speech can be put on the back burner when the centralized power in this country feels threatened.

I'm happy I never supported those brovet posers. Tim Kennedy, Ranger Up, Mat Best, all showed their true colors when they turned their backs on Kyle Rittenhouse.
You forgot to mention the "gun issue" that Weaver had was him being entrapped by the ATF, as they were the ones who approached him undercover, and asked him to saw off shotguns. Which he denied to do several times, until he caved for the money.
Insofar as I'm aware it wasn't even about the money. It was a poor judgement call, and instead of having the sheriff charge the informant with harassment, Weaver finally caved to get the guy off his back.

The worst part is with the recent update of dod directive 5240.01, this type of operation becomes fully acceptable. Any way you slice it they were invading a citizens land heavily armed EXPECTING to get in a gun fight. If you suspect a gunfight may occur, and there is no urgent business with the person(no hostages etc.) YOU DONT SEND ARMED PEOPLE TO INVADE AND INCITE THE GUNFIGHT. They showed up with intent to slaughter that family.
If you needed a definition of evil. The people perpetrating those crimes are a fantastic start. But everything’s relative right? No. Only if you want to justify a means to some end. The only benefit to not making a standard that is concrete, is that you aren’t all that convinced that there are certain things you won’t do for some price.
I wonder if the events of the 'April 29, 1992, L.A. riots contributed to the Weaver family believing that the riots were signs of the end times prophesized in the book of Revelations. Undoubtedly, the L.A. riots were used by the Aryan Nation to support their beliefs and the paranoia of the community had to have influenced the Weaver family. Would the Weaver family have reacted differently if the L.A. riots did not occur?
Imagine being a child and finding 2 men in Gillie suits watching you and just as you knotice them you see one kill your golden retriever. You try shoot back but get killed. Those are paid terrorists
Weaver was targeted because of his beliefs. He was entrapped by federal agents into sawing off a shotgun a quarter of an inch too short. His family was practically starving and he was desperate for money. They wanted him to become an informant and gather info on the Aryan Nations, when he had only attended a couple of events and wasn't an actual member. He refused so they took out his family. He was given the wrong court date and even though they knew the date was incorrect, they still illegally executed a bench warrant for his arrest. The feds killed the family dog, a yellow lab and then shot his young son in the back and killed the mother while holding her infant. Her arms locked when she fell dead and they had to use force to tear the baby away. I moved to northern Idaho almost 20 years ago and the people here are wonderful. They love God and their community. We just want to leave in peace and that isn't something the government wants to allow.

Fool.
Similar thing happened in the UK , on a much smaller scale
There was a robbery at Brinks-mat , millions of pound of gold was stolen, a guy named Kenneth Noy was thought to be handling the gold , so the police in their wisdom put people all camouflaged up into his garden to watch and listen, the dog comes out and finds them, Noy ends up stabbing and killing one of them and is let off for self defence.
What on earth makes them believe hostile reconassience in someone's property is a good idea , it can only end badly.
This was a tragedy. No awards should have been given. Mike is absolutely right in his analysis of this incident and Waco. The FBI totally approached wrong.
I understood that the ATF set him up by getting him to make them a sawed off shotgun. When I heard the story it sounded like entrapment
There’s actually no proof he even did the work. He knew the guy was an undercover and told him he couldn’t shorten it for him. Atf agent didn’t want to waste 2 years of work so he lied to get them to siege the place
I had heard that he shortened it twice. First time it was legal length. The undercover had him re-do even shorter the second as to break the law.
Randy didn't spend a day in prison on the gun charge because it was determined to be entrapment
He claimed the shotgun he sold wasn't shortened.
I guess if I asked u to sell me crack and u did, it's my fault for asking u huh? Lol haha conservative victim logic. Cucks.
Thank you for clarifying the context for everyone, well done! 👏👏👏
That's what I understood was the case as well. Was not able to find refuting side of story though. And I like to weigh both sides. Horrible if whole truth.
Yea when I heard this on the podcast is got pissed like the entrapment part is a big detail he just skipped over.
First they shot the kids dog, and the kid thought he was under attack,
fired back, then ran away and was shot in the back.
The whole thing started with a failure to appear in court.
He didn't appear on a mistake they made sending the schedule.
They sent him the wrong court date. That was after the ATF entrapped him however.
Failure to appear over some bullshit entrapment charges. They hounded the hell out of him for months to saw some barrels off some shotguns. After he had repeatedly told them no. The whole thing was BS and unsurprisingly the incompetent US government had US citizens blood on their hands.
Sending an intentionally erroneous court date appears to be ATF sop
That would be fine but this seems more Eric Cartman Respect My Authoritah.
NEVER trust the government. Stock up on essentials.

Mike, the guy here on Joe’s podcast, was Delta/CAG.
It was a cult.

Why - so Lon can shoot you in the face, then claim 'self-defense'? If he has a badge, he has a "stand-your-ground" gun policy on his hip.

I won't say names, but I know one of the higher-ups who were on-scene. A lot of horrible decisions were made to elevate the situation to what ended up happening, and unfortunately, the people who made those decisions ended up getting their careers advanced. It's tragic and gross what happened to that family. What's crazy is that there are many, many families here who could have had the same thing happen.
They're not incompetent, they're just evil
It's pretty much exactly what they wanted. Hard to be incompetent if that's the exact result you were looking for.
The classic Vietnam-era tiger stripe shirt is absolute fire.
the most disturbing thing is the man who murdered a mother and ten year old boy went to Waco and murdered more people
The Feds wanted Randy Weaver to befriend and inform on some locals they were gunning for.

Founding fathers are rolling in their graves 24/7
Most founders supported ratification.
Meaning they supported centralized power (like the power we see from these corrupt alphabet agencies) or the opposite of what our country was originally founded on.
They gave us the constitution to hang out hat on but clearly it wasn't that effective considering a few years after the constitution was drawn up you get the sedition act of 1798 (promoted by the same who supported ratification) which showed that freedom of speech can be put on the back burner when the centralized power in this country feels threatened.
