- Over the past decade UK duo Koven have made a name for themselves as one of the most distinctive acts in UK bass music. The duo comprises producer Max Rowat and vocalist and DJ Katie Boyle. Katie performs solo under the Koven moniker, after Max stepped back from live performance. Having to balance mixing and singing in her performances, Boyle’s shows are unique in both gear setup and execution. We met up with Boyle to watch her break down how she plans Koven sets and the techniques she uses to balance vocals and beats.

I wish I could like this 1000 times, this is very intriguing. I always liked the "making of/behind the scenes" with artists and movies, not just the products themselves because it gives you a window into how it's made and how they think, how they operate. Now I have to see if there is something like this for Feint, The Prototypes, Pendulum, Metrik and so on... 🤔

Damn, those vocals are freaking stellar. I’m not very familiar with the electronic music scene, but I really hope she is as famous as a DJ/Singer can be. Do we have a name for that already? (DJs who sing on their own tracks live?). What about SDJ? Haha
