Samsung left Tizen OS to make google happy because google is buying samsungs display, images sensors, camera modules as well as using Samsung's foundary to build google chip. Tizen was much better and faster
@@TomTomdog Tizen is a horrible OS that is still on the GW3 and prior watches especially coming from WearOS. At least with wear OS3 Samsung has opened the OS thanks to Google.
I've been an Android Wear user since the LG G Watch R and I love my smart watches. My current Fossil Gen 5 has been my "checks all the boxes" watch for a while now. On the other side of things, I've always loved the fluidity of the Samsung watches and especially the rotating bezel but could not stand to part with Google Assistant. @@mastrocla No, I mean Apple Watch. The last 2 or even the last 3 Tizen watches had horrible (read: a bit better than Apple Watch but only just) battery life.
Agree with @cstavaru about Samsung being the gold standard for battery life. What was bizarre was their last Tizen effort. They had been making 3-5 day watches for years and I was ready to buy the Samsung watch 3 (I think it was that) until I found out that the battery took a huge step backward. And Fossil and everyone else is still/forced to use these garbage snapdragon chips. The 4100+ is built on a 12nm process, whereas the galaxy WearOS watch uses a exynos w920 built on a 5nm process. That's why Samsung is able to build a WearOS watch that's 9.8mm thick and I'll be shocked if the gen 6 is any thinner than 12mm (couldn't find anyone providing that dimension, but the gen 5 was 12mm thick). The "next-gen" snapdragon 5100 is also shaping up to be a dumpster fire. I'm always surprised that Qualcomm's platforms for the one platform that needs better battery life even more than smartphones is relegated to these large die process, battery hog chips. Screw you Qualcomm and the 🐎 you rode in on.
Great review as usual. It sounds like is the Fossil Gen 6 was released with Wear OS 3 it would be a no brainer for those looking to buy a Wear OS watch. This is making me regret not buying the Ticwatch Pro 3 when it was on sale for $197.99 in June.
Both ticwatch and gen 6 have not received os3. And by the way its going it looks like ticwatch wont be getting os3 at all. Fossil is atleast still giving updates about the update and looks like gen5 maybe getting the update too.
So who was NOT fooked when Windows went to a graphical interface? It is all in the business manual for your life WORK HARD cause you WILL want a NEW thingamabob as soon as one is available
As someone that primarily uses my 2018 Galaxy Watch for fitness tracking, the insane battery life of the TicWatch 3 Pro is a huge plus. Such a shame all these new watches don't get a similar layered lcd display and a "basic" power mode..
Keep an eye on the hybrid e-ink models. They're not quite the same but 10-12 days of battery life and some fitness stuff, that's awesome. Maybe they'll have NFC in 1-2 generations
@@tgwnn Agree the Fossil Hybrid HR watches could easily replace my Wear, Galaxy and Pebble watches. The fitness walking/running results are on par with the Galaxy watches.

Don't bother doing a revisiting video on this one. Wear OS 3 broke it. Here's the highlights: Watch now uses its own Fossil App...which is kinda garbage over the Wear OS app, and basically an advertisement platform for their real watches. Google assistant is gone. That Google side feed thing....gone, replaces with just another way to see the lack of tiles they offer you. Still missing BASIC stock apps like a calculator or a calendar. Still no companion apps for even things like Gmail, FB messenger, etc ( all things we used to have back when SmartWatches were around saying the Moto 360 days) Amazon Alexa works...but needs to reconnect almost every time...which takes 30 sec...might as well use your phone or your own voice. 2/3 of the watch faces have been removed for "space" or some garbage, instead of just giving you the option to remove the ones you don't want. Wanna use faces from the pre installed Facer app? Go ahead, but almost every watch face flickers like its at a NYC after hours club...white watch faces are the absolute worst for this. Battery drain seems to have increased. With All Health apps deleted, wifi off, nfc off, raise to wake off, volume off...basically everything off accept always on display and using a watch face from facer, putting the watch on at 10:30 am....it was near death and switched its mode by around 9:30ish that night.. that was with minimal use just clearing applications and I think I used the NFC once to make a payment and then turned it off directly after... so battery life has decreased. ( and no it has nothing to do with how long I've had my watch because I've only had it for a couple of weeks) Unless you set your battery option to change at 10%...it'll just randomly decide to change it...sometimes at 20%....sometimes 15%....once it didn't enable it at all... so it's inconsistent or based on your usage which I don't really think it is.. The new OS 3 on this watch clearly looks like it was designed for a square watch face even down to when you scroll through your notifications you can see that they are rounded Corner boxes that are just Blended in to the black background to blend in with the large bezel these contain.. ( which I still don't understand why any high-end watch company has a thick bezel like that when I tech company like Samsung can make a watch that doesn't have one🤷♂️) Basically if you didn't take the update yet don't bother.
I'm rocking their hybrid watch, it's just a better-looking device and the battery is unbeatable. I'll maybe get a touchscreen watch when they get to Gen 20 or so.
@@blaster915 control music - yes. you didn't ask but look for phone - yes. voice reply no :/. You can see notifications and read the first few lines of emails etc but you can't reply to them. It's also very customizable, you can set your own background or look for backgrounds online, and you can change what 2 of the 3 buttons do.
Great preview video! I'm really looking forward to this watch. I've been on the fence about the GW4 and haven't been able to pull the trigger. It's the same with the Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS. Neither one has anything screams, "I've got to have that watch", for me.
Anyone feel like these watch faces are *still* a bit lacking? Maybe it's just me but it's so hard to find a genuinely aesthetic watch face on a smartwatch these days...
My favorite smartwatch is still the original Motorola Moto 360. Just a beautiful design, and after a battery replacement it easy can go through 2 days. Everything else on the watch is such high quality that you don't see any scratches or any marks that it was used as an daily. To bad it don't get any updates. At least, everything that still works is real smooth without any stuttering. And i gut it for like 90$ five years ago.
I pre-ordered the Fossil Gen 6 too. How are you so lucky to have received this a month before anyone else? Oh wait, you are... Mr. Mobile 😎 A very nice review Michael and looking forward to hearing about how you like the Fossil Gen 6 after a few months.
Fossil didn't fix this issue (charging circles coming loose) the way I wanted. I'll wait to see if people have the same trouble with it. How I wanted them to fix it? put the 4 pins on the watch, and the half circles on the charger. The issue with the earlier gens is water, sweat, and other liquids would slowly cause the circles to separate from the body. I hope they did fix it, but I'm probably done with their watches.
RUclips is fed-up with the old same repetitive review video channels , I recently discovered your channel and i don't see why you don't have more subscribers than others do , your videos are like documentaries ,
Being a pixel 4a owner I waited to try wear os and opted for with a Garmin Vivoactive. It does what i need and the one thing I'm spoiled with is battery life. Guess I'll keep waiting right now.
No mention of connectivity, I used fossil gen 5 with my pixel 3, both Google’s product but still the connectivity sucks, I always have to check the Bluetooth and sometime search for the watch in Bluetooth list, finally switched to apple family which really rocks, never saw any connectivity issue and both my watch and phone connects without even Bluetooth on..
My first and only smartwatch that I use to this day is a trusty Fossil Gen 3 venture. I'm really a sucker for the more sleek and elegant designs by Fossil. But as much as I like the Gen 6 my Gen 3 still holds up for the simple stuff as showing notifications and being a remote for spotify. Do the newer gens offer something vastly superior or are they more of convenience upgrade?
Both pushers are totally functional, as always. You can program each to a custom shortcut (in fact you can see me activate the timer/stopwatch with one of them at some point in the video).
@@TheMrMobile That's awesome! Seems like a very useful feature to me. Making my decision between this and the Watch 4 Classic even more difficult... Thanks for the reply, and the fantastic reviews as always!
Only just noticing from your video that the watch face display seems to cut off a couple of mm from the edge. What's the point in having a larger watch if you're not going to use all of the space? Especially when Wear OS on round watch faces already cuts off certain aspects of the display ('Hey Google' questions/answers for example)
Awesome review as always! :) Just a tip, since I see you're using Facer... it's a known battery hog. It would be cool to see what the battery life is like without Facer installed (using some of the stock watch faces, or some found on the Play Store), and then perhaps compare it to when you do have Facer installed. I like the amount of faces on Facer (duh), but I hate the added battery drain, so I don't ever use it on my smart watches. Thanks!
I'm not too picky with smart watches but nothing is perfect but if the game can be upped in a way they pleases more people, that's better for everyone, including myself.
I wish the bezel rotated as a control option as well as the crown. In my opinion, more control options are always nice and the knurling on the bezel is begging for it to be rotatable.
I only wish for next gen Fossil Hybrid smartwatch as the Collider/Charter is getting almost 2 years old now and to me is still unmatched by any other smartwatch

I have Gen 5 Fossil and right now I can't see any reasons to upgrade to Gen 6. Probably it will not change until the end of 2022. If the new Wear OS will be better then I will consider an upgrade.
I love my Falster 3, the performance of Gen 5 has been fine for me. And there's nothing about WearOS 3 that is compelling enough to make me want to upgrade, so I disagree that 2.5 is "outdated". I'll keep mine as long as Google doesn't break anything I'm using on it...
I might say i am kind of happy with the TicWatch E3, but i can feel the bugs and problems, also I'm not using as much as a regular person might, one of the reasons is because I can't carry a charger to the place where unlike to take the watch, full weekends outdoors and hard conditions makes me think a lot about using the pins of the strap as a charger (that's why I asked) because it's already there, you can charge while in a bike ride knowing it won't disconnect, also you might be able to have an strap with extra juice to run the watch with battery for longer periods of time. Silly idea?
You have used the gen 6, ticwatch 3 pro and the galaxy watch 4. which one would you recommend? Is there a huge difference between the wear os 2.3 and wear os 3? Which one should i buy?
I have the Galaxy watch 1. It’s solid thus far but seriously the prices are stupid these days that I can buy a really kick ass timepiece for the same amount and it would still hold value many many years after using it. I would never worry about it slowing down or the display, battery or SoC degrading or even the manufacturer dropping spare parts support down the line. Don’t get me wrong, I like my smart watch but I keep thinking, what will I do when all that I mentioned above happens.

@@BlacklistBill Agreed.
The WearOS 3 situation is basically the Osborne effect from the '80s.
So who was NOT fooked when Windows went to a graphical interface?
It is all in the business manual for your life
WORK HARD cause you WILL want a NEW thingamabob as soon as one is available
4:27 Michael Fisher, still the greatest voice in the business.
00:11 gotta love the subtle alliteration dude!
@@tgwnn That's pretty cool!
@@tgwnn Agree the Fossil Hybrid HR watches could easily replace my Wear, Galaxy and Pebble watches. The fitness walking/running results are on par with the Galaxy watches.
@@randyb3576 plus I can easily track my sleep schedule with it even if it's not 100% accurate. If I have to charge it every day or every 2 days, it's a nuisance to make sure it's loaded by bedtime. It is a little buggy but overall I love the experience.
@@tgwnn Good to hear! Enjoy!
Your reviews are spot on as always! Always look forward to seeing your thoughts on wearables
Don't bother doing a revisiting video on this one. Wear OS 3 broke it. Here's the highlights:
Watch now uses its own Fossil App...which is kinda garbage over the Wear OS app, and basically an advertisement platform for their real watches.
Google assistant is gone.
That Google side feed thing....gone, replaces with just another way to see the lack of tiles they offer you.
Still missing BASIC stock apps like a calculator or a calendar.
Still no companion apps for even things like Gmail, FB messenger, etc ( all things we used to have back when SmartWatches were around saying the Moto 360 days)
Amazon Alexa works...but needs to reconnect almost every time...which takes 30 sec...might as well use your phone or your own voice.
( and no it has nothing to do with how long I've had my watch because I've only had it for a couple of weeks)
Unless you set your battery option to change at 10%...it'll just randomly decide to change it...sometimes at 20%....sometimes 15%....once it didn't enable it at all... so it's inconsistent or based on your usage which I don't really think it is..
The new OS 3 on this watch clearly looks like it was designed for a square watch face even down to when you scroll through your notifications you can see that they are rounded Corner boxes that are just Blended in to the black background to blend in with the large bezel these contain.. ( which I still don't understand why any high-end watch company has a thick bezel like that when I tech company like Samsung can make a watch that doesn't have one🤷♂️)
Basically if you didn't take the update yet don't bother.
I love how Michael prioritizes the script over the visuals, unlike almost the majority of the reviewers
Nice delivery Mr. Fisher. Greetings from 🇳🇬
Well done bro... Great video, solid and direct review! Got a new subscriber. 👏🏻
I'm rocking their hybrid watch, it's just a better-looking device and the battery is unbeatable. I'll maybe get a touchscreen watch when they get to Gen 20 or so.
Does the hybrid let you control music, voice reply and see notifications?
And how longs the battery?
@@blaster915 control music - yes. you didn't ask but look for phone - yes. voice reply no :/. You can see notifications and read the first few lines of emails etc but you can't reply to them. There's also a little dot at the bottom of the screen if there are any. Battery at least 10 days. It's also very customizable, you can set your own background or look for backgrounds online, and you can change what 2 of the 3 buttons do.
@@blaster915 also you can pick which apps appear in your notifications, pretty neat. Also you can charge it in only about an hour which is awesome
@@tgwnn thanks for the info. I've been really thinking about a hybrid for a while. Good info for the decision.
Always great reviews love it Michael you keep it 100 about all products.
Just got it yesterday thank you for this informative video
Mr. Mobile has become the coffee I need for my tech fix
7:40 So what should I do? I brought Fossil Gen 5 in this year, March. Now I feel like cheated. 😢
Thank you, Michael Fisher! Please update whenever a Fossil + Wear OS 3 hits the market or if Fossil Gen 6 will have an update.
Been waiting for this one!
Me too!
I couldn't find what I was looking for strap wise so I just made my own out of leather. The possibilities are endless!
Wow!!! Pls make a video of how you make a strap for yourself
The Mr. Mobile Channel has the break downs, and reviews!
RUclips is fed-up with the old same repetitive review video channels , I recently discovered your channel and i don't see why you don't have more subscribers than others do , your videos are like documentaries ,
i like your videos before even starting
great review Michael, thank you!
Are the other two buttons functional or just for looks? Great review, as always!
Which smart watch is better
Armani smart watch 3 or Fossil smart watch gen 6 ?
Please suggest
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE WATCH 4 (AND CLASSIC) COMPARISON!
Anyone know where to get the watchface on the right at 2:34 ?
Michael, is the Garmin marc still your favorite smartwatch? Just for aesthetics? Why is it best?
Great review! Thank you!
Loved the pace of this video. Amazingly put together.
Good video as always.
Michael, are you planning on reviewing the new Ipad Mini?
Only just noticing from your video that the watch face display seems to cut off a couple of mm from the edge. What's the point in having a larger watch if you're not going to use all of the space? Especially when Wear OS on round watch faces already cuts off certain aspects of the display ('Hey Google' questions/answers for example)
Awesome review as always! :)
Just a tip, since I see you're using Facer... it's a known battery hog.
Great quality video as always ❤️
I only wish for next gen Fossil Hybrid smartwatch as the Collider/Charter is getting almost 2 years old now and to me is still unmatched by any other smartwatch
The Fossil Hybrid HR watches are the best little known watches around. Love mine
Thank you for the honest review!!!
Great video! What phone did you use in this video?

great review! enough information for me make a decision
Me being a Fossil Employee didn't have any idea about the new launch until they revealed it 👍
Thanks for pushing out this review. I been wondering when someone would review this watch. Keeping a eye out on the off hand chance my Ticwatch pro takes a dump.
I love it. It looks beautiful and performs better than some other watches in terms of charging speed and is cheaper than them
Great video AGAIN! Thank you! Wow, what is the name for the watch face with the red light? So Nice.
By the way. Love 60 Hz and your brillant way to explaine Things 👍
I have Gen 5 Fossil and right now I can't see any reasons to upgrade to Gen 6. Probably it will not change until the end of 2022. If the new Wear OS will be better then I will consider an upgrade.
Did the prices change on the TicWatch Pro 3 in the last couple of hours, because as of now, it's back to $300.
Gen 5 will get wearos 3?
It's May 2022 has Fossil Gen 6 got Wear OS 3 ?
Can anybody pleaaassse let me know the watch face at 0:40 (right one) and how to get it🤞🏻
agreed he is just stunning at reviews keep it up my fav on youtube by far
Will you do a Wear OS 3 updated review?
Can't wait to see these guts on the utterly gorgeous Skagen Falster line. I love those weird looking lugs and simple design.
What watchface was on your Galaxy watch4 when you talked about wearos 3?
Real information. Thanks. (I love the voice - golden-age Hollywood.)
Nice review 👍🏿
I have the Samsung 4 Classic and I wish I had 3 buttons. But the rotating bezel on the Samsung is so nice.
So will the fossils sold now get the upgrade to wear OS3?
I have the Galaxy watch 1. It’s solid thus far but seriously the prices are stupid these days that I can buy a really kick ass timepiece for the same amount and it would still hold value many many years after using it. I would never worry about it slowing down or the display, battery or SoC degrading or even the manufacturer dropping spare parts support down the line.
Don’t get me wrong, I like my smart watch but I keep thinking, what will I do when all that I mentioned above happens.
Totally valid. As I said in a previous video: "an old wristwatch is an heirloom; an old smartwatch is e-waste."
hello MrMobile i be been following ur videos for quite the time and im finally planning to get a smart watch and i trying to decide which one is better. Samsung galaxy watch 4 or fossil gen 5 . which one you can recommend me to get or in ur opinion which one is better
