may I ask for a tutorial how to deal with dim light? I love bright and distincted shadow but dim light also bring a soft emotional mood. I want to create that mood but I often make it look dirty. :(

I still use value scale for dim light condition. Bur less contrast one. I would love to make demo using dim someday soon.

"Even gap" (Gap is like a "space between"; cement between bricks, cars in a parking lot).
"Gab," on the other hand, is more like mindless talking, or a long, non-memorable conversation.

Zin Lim, I am sorry, but I do not have language-learning programs in mind. It is not my line of work. Your instruction in art is very good, and your sill amazing. Language is like drawing: You are good because you correct your mistakes. Language is the same... small steps, asking for help from those who are fluent. Little by little you get better! You are very good. I could tell you knew the meaning, but had never heard the subtle differnce in the sound of the ending letter. ;-) I just wanted to help.

Thank you for your wonderful videos. The best way to master English is to communicate as much as possible with native English speakers. In the mean time watch films in English without translation and read books in English. There are also audio materials for practicing pronunciation, you can find them at the library for sure. For grammar I used these books: elt.oup.com/student/practicegrammar/?cc=ro&selLanguage=en

You can do this exercise with either one! I used a 2B pencil for starters as its less messy, but I think the real beauty of this exercise is that it shows that you should first find the darkest dark of the media you choose. Once you know the darkest dark, you are less likely to second guess if you think you can go any darker, and then build hand muscle memory on how much pressure to go extreme dark, or light. Good luck and have fun! I wish I saw this type of exercise way earlier in my art journey.

    • @zinlimart

‘lock with HB pencil’ : Vine charcoal is easily erased. So, HB pencil is used to hold the edge's positions.
‘edge control’ : blending, refining, detailing, softening, sharpening around edges.
      Thanks for watching.
