  • Anne Heche made a trip to a Los Angeles hair salon just before a car accident left her hospitalized with severe burns. ET spoke exclusively with Richard Glass, owner of Glass Hair Design in Venice Beach, who said the actress randomly came into his studio and purchased a red wig on Friday. Twenty minutes later, she crashed her car into a nearby house, which went up in flames upon impact.

He does seem very professional. He's obviously a pro at whatever line of work he's in. If it were me, I'd be a bit traumatized knowing someone you just met was in a horrific accident. I'm a female and have been wearing wigs myself for years. When I heard she had purchased the wig right before and now hearing that she wanted it dusty, seems odd. Wigs are a lot of maintenance. I would never want one that hasn't been maintained on the shelf. Also, that color seemed more like a costume wig. Just seems odd to me

That’s the polar opposite of ”sweet”! She has had a deeply troubled life. I was thinking the best outcome for a burn victim who is also a drug and alcohol abuser with mental health issues would be to not come out of the coma. Declared brain dead on Thurs.

She left with another friend of ours to go to a place we were all supposed to meet to hear a DJ we liked, and I followed about an hour later. At some point during that hour, she managed to OD and die. It was just so unfathomable.
This happened in 1999, but I will never forget how impossible and surreal it felt. At first I argued, “But no! No you don’t understand, I was JUST with her! This makes no sense!” Oh my God was that hard. That was so hard. I kept seeing her in my mind, beautiful, smiling and lucid. Haunted me for years.

Healthy??? That was THE problem... she wasn't healthy at all, especially mentally & psychologically! Check out her podcasts & you'll quickly see how desperately she was in need of various medical help!!! What's shocking too is how people around her let her go on like this ... she was obviously VERY, VERY unwell... and the chats in those podcasts just made ALL her horrific childhood traumas revive again & without proper mental care, she obviously needed the support of illegal substances to be able to handle her life... plus, those podcasts involved drinking liquor!!! And to both, this was okay 🙄🙄🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😤😤
After she crashed into those garages, she knew she was under the influence & couldn't get caught, reason why she sped off & possibly decided to end her life at the end of that road. Imagine someone who has weekly podcasts to teach the world how to become a better, saner, lovelier, caring person to others AND then one day, under the influence irresponsibly decides to take the wheel in that state & crashes into garages ... her thoughts must've been as erratic as her driving during those speeding seconds down that road... I believe she opted to end it all there & then ... in her ill state of mental health it was obvious she was not capable of handling a court case & being accused of driving under the influence, plus knowing this would be seen by colleagues & the entire world. This is what I believe after watching her podcasts ... actually, those podcasts help NOBODY ... all they do is make you want to yank her out of there & take her to rehab & REALLY care for her ill mental state!!! I guess she is finally in peace 🥀

The only breaking one has at this point is the parking brake and it will not stop the car. In my own incident , I pulled the emergency brake and never slowed down as the rear wheels were squealing for over a thousand yards . The only thing that saved me was putting the drive shifter into neutral and letting it over-rev , blowing up the motor as I rolled to a stop , with what little help I had left of the emergency brake still applied . After that incident , I never drove a nother car without disabling the cruise control and removing its fuses because it was the Cruise Control Exceloration switch that turned on and would not turn off or disengage .

I felt so bad for her. I have been a fan of hers for years. I thought she was a very fine actor, and she also overcame a strange and difficult childhood. When I saw how long it took to get her out, and learned of her injuries, my prayers was for her to pass peacefully. Living with the consequences of her injuries would, imo, have been horrendous, and recovering terribly painful. I remember Richard Pryor talking about that after he was seriously burned. And a nurse friend of mine told me the biggest turn over of nursing staff is, in most cases, those who work in the Burn Units of hospitals. May she Rest In Peace. 💐

It's unfortunate the man who ran into the house to help the occupants didn't immediately get her out of the car. Sounds like he had a small window there before it ignited in flames. I remember when a bystander pulled Dick Van Dyke from his car when it was disabled, pulled over and shooting smoke. Shortly after that his car was consumed by flames. After any accident, it's imperative the people get out of or are removed from the car immediately.

She was in that burning car in a burning house for a very long time. The fact that she is alive at all is astonishing. From the ET footage it looks very much as if the FD were expecting a recovery and not a rescue. Until we know the full circumstances of the accident, including her toxicology results, we can only pray for her and her two boys and loved ones. Whatever the circumstances, she is a mother, and we should show some respect. It could be that there was a mechanical issue with her car, a stuck accelerator, a medical event, we just don’t know, and should not be making assumptions. And *if* she recovers, then I’m sure that the police will follow process in due time. People need to be kinder.
