Visited here today, the adit gate has been completely smashed off, most of the ore carts have been nicked, Someone tried taking the one in the adit aswell. Most of the track has been stripped. etc.
I've not been there since I filmed it, but it would be fascinating to see what it looks like now. If you do go don't be tempted to enter the mine. It will be unstable by now and the air will be toxic. P.W.
personally I'd of parked up in mile end and head in from that way ..you'd of saved a good hour. some places I've never seen though goes to show you never really know the forest . always something new to see if you venture in deeper
i never got lost using topography, but navigating london is a dead loss, you can see where you want to get to, but finding a connecting street or road is a joke. and some place names aren't even signposted. and walking through, what used to be dockland is a pain in the neck, from looking up. little new york or what ?
Julie the film starts with a look at the map. It is very close to the cycle center to the west of Speech House in the 'Sallow Vallets' enclosure. It is in private land and could be dangerous, so be careful
I live in cinderford and love the Forrest. I'm surprised the town's around the area and cinderford, don't look after the shop fronts as well as the Forrest is looked after. Or create decent parks for the kids to play of all ages. No wonder they look for drugs there board stupid.
Magnificent! - a wonderful film, superb walk and a disused mine. WOW! Thanks so much again Ron for taking me along. Right - part 4
It was a bit spooky in there, like the miners were about to come back and carry on. P.W.

Great video, subscribed. Do you know if it is still there as I would love to go and explore it and see the old railway tracks.

Great vid, Im looking for Gold in the Forest of dean. Do you have any good suggestions other than lea bailey?
Hi Henry. No expertise on gold but it keeps heading down hill. Find the lowest stream you can and get panning.
Been panning today. Found nothing. But still it was a great day
I love your videos live near you in Lydney
Hi Charlie. We live in a beautiful part of the world. Enjoy. P.W.

It's all that steel in the buildings , messes with the built in maps!
Can you say where on the map this mine is? I've yet to find it (the one with the old rail tracks etc)

They have the right to mine coal in the forest. P.W.
