I honestly disagree with that. Having open communication with the customer even when problems arise works best for me, and continues to get me more and more work. I did insisted on fixing it and she told me not to worry about it and I moved on. However, if that’s not the way you run your business that’s fine. Not every business is the same. Not every persons communication skill is the same. You have find what works best for you.

You should have insisted on fixing that mistake and you should not ask the customer for permission. A perfect product is what gets you more business.
