I was delightfully surprised at the end when all the voices from all the little squares chimed in together like a uniquely beautiful song. No words would capture as well that distillation of good intention, with a beating heart of hope for all, all, all of us.

That example we can see anywhere any time unfortunately. The problem is that humans want to belong to the tribe that appears the strongest as they fear death. It's all a fear of a death of some kind 🙏🏼

I have to say to the older gentleman who brought up the polarization between traditional Christian ideas of sin and Buddhist teachings on suffering, "racism is the product of a profound ignorance of thought, wrong thinking" ... i disagree. Racism is an disgusting acceptance of not honoring your brother as yourself. That is a sin. This 'karmic resonance" has been thrown into the spotlight now, and it is NOT a new "demon". I am a Cdn woman whose first husband (was) black. May he rest in peace. Beyond the linear timeline of our relationship, i continue to strive to create the spaciousness in order to truly stand in the vibration of my own Truth ....the Truth of having loved who i chose to love in "Time". I acknowledge that it's a lifelong learning experience how to "stand on one leg" and honor your brother as yourself.Descendants of the tribes who descended from Abraham and Ishmael are, "by the law of God" given by Moses, "charged" to honor the 2nd commandment. Second only to the first commendment to "Love the Lord with all your heart". To Love thy brother...(And this "Commandment" is so much more than the "Amendments" (supposedly) given for the freedoms of the peoples of America.) At this time, I'd like to thank Jack Kornfeld and his years of working as a spiritual leader because his beautiful stories have comforted me so many times in breathing through change and grief in my life. Namaste. May your soul be cradled in the 'bosom' of Avraham. Amen.

As the young man is being mindful of his own (programmed) inner reactions to Black people he passes them on the street, for the Black person's sake: look at them, smile, a quick nod, and just say "Hello."
It's for White people's sake too because it's important to be able to "see" other people.
Black people may or may not speak back, because we're so used to being treated as if we're invisible by Whites. But keep up this breakthrough practice anyway. White people are stronger and sturdier than they choose to own, and not any more fragile than any other humans, perhaps even less so.
Thanks for entering into "race" earnestly and please stay engaged until all the work is done. We will do this. We are the generation born for this.

The song "Power" is played as the football team entrance piece just prior to kick-off for the AGGIES (Texas A&M Univ.) at Kyle Field. Some are claiming.."yeah, it's racially slurred and profane, but we don't sing the lyrics (progress here as at least some are admitting that racial slurs and profanty are not such a good idea).. But,what if the song contained lyrics promoting cop killing? Or encouraged the resumption of slavery? But were not voiced of course...(at this point some even might believe lyrics are not part of a song-huh?) Would the song remain acceptable? Others have suggested it's OK for a person of color to use these shameful and hurtful slurs...is this not racist in itself? That's a confusing and dangerous road to take. It's not OK. Would Dr. King give his approval? Regardless, the extreme profanity in the song's lyrics should make the decision much easier. IMO, when the song was selected, someone dropped the ball here. Big time. It's tradition now, but does that make it any less toxic and inappropriate? Google the lyrics...you'll be shocked. Would there be any negative consequences if another song, lyrically devoid of racial slurs and profanity was chosen as a replacement? A&M has an optimal opportunity here at becoming part of the answer, not the problem.
Jack is right concerning the Civil war. If anyone believes in the Astrology and the solar system, Pluto returns in the chart of the USA and its worth looking into concerning the shadow and power games the system itself is.
Visually, Jack and his life-mate Trudy have some funky tensions going on... STOP competing with and resenting...

They are both so wise in their own way, yet something seems 'off' in their dynamic. I hope they are happy with each other. :/
@@shazzatpm I have seen them before and only saw love and mutual respect, but they too are human. and the confinement with a loved one can take a toll. Sometimes people are tired, or need a nap lol. I would advise you to see one of their forums on YT, in which they teach together. They do this often. I have always felt love and compassion from them both, and could see the love they have for each other. I think they are very happy, maybe just an off day, or maybe they had an argument.
@@kellmerWF52 Thank you. I have seen them together before and agree completely. As Tara, it's o easy for the mind to see them as "better than" and expect them to be super human, haha.
Tara i love you! You’re amazing. I think this is great, however as a minority i just have to say my own sentiment. I have heard white peoples opinions about their experience enough. This isn’t the time for that. This is a time for listening. This is a time for white people to really listen because black lives matter is not about them. Its about minority lives. I want to hear from people of color. From black people. I would like to listen to them and hear about their experiences and perspectives and feelings. I just think thats important to disclose.
Jack explained that he asked POC to join the conversation, but they denied saying that they needed to do this alone as white teachers. Jack lived in many foreign countries, with many people of different races. They are teachers and you take offence that they happen to be white, While Jack learned and was taught mainly by people of different races. Buddhism does not differentiate between color or gender, and is probably the only spiritual practice that does not
gonetopot4 i take offense because they are speaking on their experience of racism. As a minority i would like to see a conversation that i can relate to. There is nothing wrong with me as a viewer asking to be represented. Not to see color or gender defeats the purpose of fighting for equality, in order to fight for those things we must recognize and see color because it is the entire reason for oppression in the first place. Hence why you and everyone needs to educate themselves. We cant really learn anything about racism from a white persons point of view.

I see that. To be honestly allies , we need to beware of falling into an unconscious pothole of making it about us. This is a habit of the broader culture by which we have been conditioned; and mostly it’s a case of not even realizing one is doing it. I am certain of the heartfelt sincerity of the facilitators and the participants. Your message, K TAL, is an honest reaction. As Trudy said, how does something “land” (albeit good-intentioned)? The time is ripe for learning.
Dodi Egan-Keating thanks... it was kind of hard for me to put into words exactly where i was coming from and i think you nailed it. Although all of this is from a good and sincere place, somehow some way it is still about white peoples experience of racism, which im sure isnt intentional, but is very real and should be curbed. I think now is the best time to stop speaking and listen. We are being drowned out by white peoples testimonies on racism when they dont know what it really even means. I would like to hear from people who know what its like. I want to hear their thoughts and emotions and perspectives. We all need faces to the experiences. What good does it do to speak about racism when theres no one who knows what its like to experience racism?
I hope you can bring in Ayesha and Rashad who are part of the POC Sangha (and they have the Heart Refuge organization) to offer a Black perspective.
