Thanks for taking the time to film this - very informative & just goes to show you don't need the most expensive, top of the range gear to enjoy the outdoors. The most important thing is to get out there and enjoy it
Very interesting and helpful for those looking to get into wild camping and hiking. Don't skimp on essentials, shelter, sleep system and cook kit, remember to carry basic safety kit, FA kit and maps. Follow Catherine's simple rules and you should be fine and have a great experience.
Thank you Katherine for a well-done and informative video. I guess we are very similar in what we take with the exception of food and cooking; in NZ I pack up to 4 days of food and cook with a "Speedster" alcohol stove which is extremely light. This packs into a "Macpack" role-top 27 liter pack and weighs 9.5 to 10.5 kg.
Thanks for your comment. My kit is pretty standard I guess. Mostly made at the prompting of my sister in Dunedin who is preparing to do the Kepler in a month or so.
You have a very calming manner, delightful video, interesting too, Thank you. X
Glad you enjoyed.
Most interesting...love this type of video.
A bit of a chat about walking things, always enjoy other people's too.

Depends on where you're going but yes, it's true!
Always interesting to see what other wild campers carry Catherine. Thats great that it all fits into a 35 litre rucksack.👍👍
I would struggle to carry much more!
impressive 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic (and thank you for answering my requests 😊)! Very helpful for the upcoming tramp on NZ’s Kepler - my first Great Walk! No tea-rooms though…
Ah, my main subscriber. Yes, it is very different terrain.

TFS Catherine, interesting and I was just thinking of doing a similar video myself to go with my not yet published Cumbria way walk.
Kind regards 👍
Always interesting to see how others do it. Hope you enjoyed the Cumbria Way - it's on my list!
